Skullheart's changes.

LOL Shoutouts to being banned from the Skullgirls IRC. Good fucking show guys.

I guess, despite literally not saying a thing to incite a ban in the first place, the mere existence of the name "FreeOffTopic" in the member list of the IRC triggered some vulnerable #Skullgirls mod. My deepest condolences for your hurt feelings. I suppose a warning would have taken too long to respond to and in the interim action needed to be taken immediately lest anarchy take hold and bring down everything that we've sought to hold sacred ... like things that aren't off topic.

Try /sgg/ for off topic.

Please don't do that! ^^;

The community of /sgg/ (...Well, the majority at least...) is trying its hardest to improve the quality of discussion over there and they need as much help as they can get. ^^;

As much as I'd like Off-topic to come back to Skullheart, please try your best to keep your posts on-topic when you are at /sgg/! ^^;

Isn't the IRC chat not even affiliated with this site?

Jboogie or some name mods it iirc... And in other news.

Wow... Still havent gotten shit together and it really seems like its the few overruling the many up in here.

And nothing of value was lost.

That's the stance you seriously want to take? "Fuck these off topic peasants, to 4chan with you?" I don't even know you dude, I don't think we've even ever had a conversation before.

Hi, I'm DiscoShark. I've been following the development of Skullgirls since MikeZ first started showing preview builds off at local Socal tournaments and at Family Fun Arcade. I picked up the game day 1 on PS3 and was most active between Vanilla and the release of Squigly edition. I was involved a decent amount with the original Skullheart back before we were the "official" Skullgirls forum but for the most part my greatest contributions have been in helping out the small community of Skullgirls players that were active on NeoGAF. I was in IRC from nearly its inception. I understand that IRC isn't directly affiliated with these forums but I do know that there is most certainly crossover in the two communities, prominent posters here are also frequently on IRC looking for matches. Though I'm not familiar with all the mods in IRC I'm willing to bet there's crossover in that department as well. My ban was bullshit, I'm venting here because I know that people that post in IRC will see it.

I hope this serves as an example as to how to interact with people in the future. I'm sure, despite your tone, that you're probably not as much of a cunt in real life. Try to show that other side of yourself some time.

I am the biggest asshole you'll ever meet in your entire life, in real life.
People can vouch.

If you've been around since the dawn of time, you'll know who the moderators are for the IRC. Message them personally in their inbox or steam instead of posting about here hoping they stumble across it if the ban is as important to you as you say it is.

As mentioned above, we have nothing to do with the running of the IRC. The only user who is a moderator on both is Midiman.

I stepped down as Admin after EVO - this has never been a secret (I still hold admin status just so I can do software upgrades). Worldjem recently changed his banner and I have no idea why.

Demoted and still holds admin position, huh.

Wait, so who's in charge now?

The dramatic title Flotilla gave himself was less lame

@DiscoShark to be honest, I'm pretty sure no one here wants to hear it anymore. At least not for now. This argument started weeks ago, stressed a lot of people out, and is now finally starting to settle down for the time being. There has been a lot of name calling, a lot of arguing, and a lot of drama over rather trivial matters. Most people here don't want to lose off topic either, but there's no point in yelling about it now. People made their arguments weeks ago, the mods have (and are continuing) to make changes and decisions in response, and now we're just riding this thing out to see how things will work out for the future.

Let's at least wait another week before we start flipping tables again.

The Skulluminati is ever-watching.

Welp, things seem to be the same here. Good news is I have a ranked team in League of Legends now so I had a productive hiatus from this forum.
Idk I came here for Skullgirls since it's the Skullgirls forum.
Since the change I've seen plenty of casual players and new players make training threads and start discussing their improvement along with much more Skullgirls content and Skullgirls gameplay discussion.

No complaints here :^)
Not sure what you are talking about since all the current training diaries are the same ones from last year.

What? I wasn't even on this forum this time last year, and my thread in the training section wasn't made until Sept which is far away from "last year", and there are several threads made after that too, hell there's one from even this week! The only threads that are close to being made a year from today that had recent activity are Hilary's and Effay's, which is only a small portion of them. Either your definition of "last year" is really bad and isn't including things made from barely 6 months ago or you aren't looking at the same threads I am?

It's not a joke what Isa said before that the training threads now have more gameplay thought/discussion than the other sections in the gameplay forum, and Skarmand is right in that since the change I've seen some newer people in there who are becoming more active with the game.

Whoa there partner. Last year means exactly what I mean. Last year. If you want to be picky the newest thread is from december, a few days before the new changes. I did miss the one from this week but 2 thread in 4 weeks does not constitute "plenty of casual players and new players". That was my point.

I'd ask to be a mod. But then my first order of business would be bringing back OT so that wouldn't be very popular with the current mods.

Maybe because it's vacation, when people have more time to dedicate to the game? I doubt that the absence of the off-topic section has anything to do with this.

Probably to Troll the people who said the Mod team responsible for this should get demoted

Good, now we know who to blame when skullheart fizzles and dies.

That might mean something if the site hasn't legitimately died at least twice before when looking at things from another perspective.

People were still interested in Skullgirls and Skullheart then. This is a different story.

There's a pretty big difference between technical difficulties and making an awful decision that draws everyone away from the forum. Skullheart the community never left, the website just exploded. What we have here is the opposite problem; the site is still up, but the community aspect can't exist without off topic.

And it is.

It sort of sounds like /you/ can't exist with off topic?

How has site traffic actually been since the changes anyway?

As someone who looks at site traffic daily~

Truthfully: It did diminish a bit; but hardly 'dead' as what has been thrown around here lately. Note this is the just the short-term implications, but think it is safe to say it probably wouldn't help with any traffic spike increase in the near future.

Also no idea why people here are convinced that this was an ultimatum because pretty sure some of the more recent staff posts alluded otherwise.

I'm getting ready to be the head admin of the Annie subforum. It's gonna be goooood.

This site has no ads or subscriptions, I don't think they generate any revenue off this.

I don't think it's about being more popular.

Annie is not related to Skullgirls gameplay and thus has been banned from Skullheart. /s
