Street Fighter V

Bacon is gross. Fight me.

Bacon is indeed overrated but it is not gross, you goddamn fiend.

I thought we had something Ktulu. I though we could run away together as lovers. But not anymore.

Bacon is what's wrong with America.

It's fine if you hate bacon if you're a godless heathen or Jewish. I don't discriminate.

I wonder if that new character they hinted at is a redesigned Oro...

Ok, joke's over. Let's get this thread back on topic before the fun police arrive.

It has to be a new character, and I like the idea of a New Zealand Maori.

Feels like he might be new.
Unlike everyone up till now.
Can't see him being a returning character.
Knowing more would help, probably.

Black dreads look cool.
And the face paint is alright.
Could have been a little more interesting, though.
Ono's cosplay of whoever this is should be sweet.
Not going to be disappointing.

Why the fuck are you adding flour to scrambled eggs? You add milk, bacon bits, or other meats and veggies that you wish to cook with them, maybe a little cracked pepper too. Some cheddar maybe.

Why are we talking about cooking eggs? This isn't super dynamic cooking time!
The fuck is wrong with you?

You dont add fancy pancy bullshit to your eggs while mixing, you only need milk.

And when the scrambled eggs are almost done you slap a slice of cheese on that bitch, and put that bitch between two slices of golden toast with butter on each slice.

OR get sliced up weiners and pan fry and put the scrambled eggs in a bowl and put the sliced weiners on top.

Dont forget to put ketch up on either.

Learn some fucking decent scrambled eggs tech man.

Jesus man we're sorry.

Oh yeah and new or not, the guy in ken trailer still looks ugly as sin.

Jesus man we're sorry.
Sorry Im just passionate about eggs since they're my favorite breakfast.

In fact it's 9:20 AM where I live and I havent eating breakfast, Im gonna go make eggs

I could stick my dongle into a stack of pancakes.

We already got carded just a while ago, I refuse to keep the thread off topic

Do we know what Ken's quotes vs Bipson are

Do we know when they'll be showing stuff at Evo yet?

Real talk I have no idea what this means.
The person I replied to was implying that adding/changing one or two things wasn't enough to drastically change a character. I was giving a real life example of how adding something (flour) to something else (egg mixture) can yield a different product all together (an egg based dough; it's pretty good for fried dumplings or fritters).

Leave Ken alone

I actually really like new Ken. I think more people would at least find it acceptable if someone who knew how to model was involved in making this.

I like that the model looks super shit while his gameplay looks super tight.

Well, at least it's not the other way around.

He was just revealed, he'll be fixed up later. For example look how many major or subtle changes Chun Li and Charlie have had since the reveal trailers all the way tothe E3 builds. They're still working things out.

Hey guys I just got back from meeting up with my older brother, what's going oooooooooonnnnnnnnn....

wow Green Eggs and Ham.

hmmm anyways Ken looks like dork, but then again he has allways looked like that so no real big change there. His playstyle seems to be now very nice and different from Ryu aka BeefCake BuffBoi Ryu. So yeah... SFV seems to be mixing things up and actually thinking of how characters should play and how they can be interesting. Now if they make button selects not scrolling and training room options much more expanded we might have an okay Street Fighter on our hands.

Every time a game isn't tap to set I die a little. Alpha 2 on the SNES had it, why did we go backwards?

Tightest links will be three frames.

wait don't they have a frame skip 2 frame leniency post normal too? meaning it should be 4 (maybe 5 depending on if I interpreted that correctly?) frames minimum

If it's 4 frames minimum then it's...very forgiving actually.

yah combos should okay for everyone. so i expect no one here crying that they can't pull off a certain combo in the near future. Aye?

Nobody here, sure, but '16ers may surprise us yet.

Nah, just wait until the right people start to fiddling with it and we'll have one frame links left and right again

The statement was basically "one frame links technically exist but everything in the game has a 2 frame buffer".

Not entirely sure on the source though, I haven't found anything confirming this, so who knows. All I can find otherwise are Capcom's general statement of "Less link focused, more target combos".

I'm so glad for this buffer. The prevailence of 1-frame link was one of the things I hated the most about SFIV.

c.LP > c.LP > c.LP > c.LP > c.MP with Vega anyone?

Man, you don't know what you're talking about, 1 frame links is what sets us elite apart from you casuals, after all, being able to do your sick combo means you will never lose.

For real though, input buffers are nice and 1 frame links are pretty dumb. Skullgirls is a great proof of concept that lowering the execution barrier in no way dumbs down your game. Now let's drop charge supers and Delta motions (even though I kind of enjoy inputting charge supers, feels like a logical progression for say Sonic Hurricane from Sonic Boom). Final Psycho Crusher isn't charge, so perhaps we already have.

In the Verper Arcade's video, he says that the extra time window to input the link is only before, meaning that you have 2 extras frames before the actual frame of the link to do the thing.

So, if you are fast with inputs you should be fine.

Really thinking now, they should just change the system to chains, i'm sure a more footsie related fighter can be well done with chain combos, but i'm okay with that.

With the less invincibility frames in reversals and anti-airs, mashing will be something less viable, and i like that.

Now the only thing i want is some changes to Ryu and Chun li, i don't know, give Ryu his donkey kick back, change his clothes, why isn't he a shotokan master at this point? I understand that he as the main shoto, "the Adam of fighting games", should have his playstyle around fundamentals, but he is looking obsolete compared to the rest of the cast right now.

Chun li, while she is probably going to be my main, the same thing, she looks obsolete compared to the rest of the cas, her design is the same, she got some cool moves in the early build, but they took it alway, i wish she had at least that uppercut like move that she has in Marvel 3 (that is part of her target combo in SFIV), give her something that makes her look more mature, old, some cool looking moves, break the mold, and her super, looks so bad, why change the angle? i want to see the kicks connecting, like in SF3, like in SFIV. Her V-trigger is probably the most simple, just double the hits on the normal, before was cool, double specials, they just needed to control the fireball ratio.

but this game is looking good, but i think they should follow the Nash, Ken, Birdie way of changing characters.

Just random speculation based on the potential Siliconera leaks.

If Urien is in the game and they balanced Aegis as his CA his V-Trigger could give armor to certain moves like Birdie's does, imagine how terrifying Chariot Tackle with a hit of armor would be. Still not sure about V-Skill. I'd hope he gets to use his lariats as an actual attack this time around.

Karin could have her counter as her V-Skill, Birdie has directional varients so having high and low could work.

Alex's trigger could be like Oro's regular SA I or add extra damage with extended animations to command grabs, like Hatred Install. I wonder if they're going to keep his different grabs for grabbing someone from behind, perhaps his V-Skill could be like Spin Knuckle and get you behind someone for the grab.
Make his Spiral DDT useful
