About Salty!:
SALTY! (formerly Salty Cupcakes) is an event that takes place in Los Angeles on Friday nights, and originally was run by some members of the Skullgirls development team at Lab Zero Games. It once served as a way to test new changes and obtain feedback, and as a way to build a local scene for players of the game. With the game completed, it is now a continued show of support and a source of local competition for Skullgirls, along with a few other games we enjoy as a community. It functions as both a tournament scene, and a social event. Players from all over SoCal, and sometimes out of state and even country, gather to play both competitively and casually.

1) Attendance is temporarily limited by a cap and as such we must have everyone sign a sheet to ensure we don't go over the cap. Please go here to add your name to the sheet and mark that you're going. IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE THERE, SAY SO. 2) To actually enter Salty! @ Twin Galaxies, you must actually buzz the door. There is a buzzer that is marked "TWIN GALAXIES LIVE!" on the door near the parking lot. PLEASE wait for someone to have you come in because someone WILL come to open the door. AGAIN, ACTUALLY USE THE BUZZER LABELED "TWIN GALAXIES".

About Salty!:
SALTY! (formerly Salty Cupcakes) is a (mostly) weekly event that takes place in Los Angeles on Friday nights, and is run by some members of the Skullgirls development team at Lab Zero Games. While it is run by Lab Zero Games employees, and members of the Skullgirls dev team are almost always there, it is not necessarily an "official" Lab Zero Games event. It is intended as a community-building event, and is independent of the development of Skullgirls, but is a good way to give/receive feedback to/from the developers (if you can get their attention on stream) and sometimes see the very latest version of Skullgirls that's in development.

Its been 1 year since the So Cal Skullgirls players have been gathering at Salty Cupcakes every week! Sep 12. So for that day we are throwing a huge tournament with prizes for top 8! It will be double elimination and we will have multiple setups to get through the tourney fast. I hope that if you live in So Cal and play Skullgirls you come that day! Prizes will be provided by eightysixed! And I will be providing prizes for top 3! An Original JoJos Animation Cell! Hope to see a big crowd, and hope to see new players!

Does anyone go to this near Burbank? Asking because one of my old VF training torturers is just now discovering and picked up the game, and found out about SC. He doesn't have a car though.

IIRC they play on PS3, but it's a friendly crowd so I'm sure you can find someone to lend you their stick when it's your turn.
 
Ive never taken a stick because there are 2 setups and like 12 sticks lol
 
I hope my new job will afford me with enough free time so that I can go to this thing every now and then.

sometimes we get a laptop or 2 going so if its compatible with that should be fine, but ya theres usually plenty of sticks to go around

Is there anyone who's still around in the valley near Granada Hills who's willing to carpool me to salty? I miss it ever so and I am totally down to buff your food money if I can get there <:^3c;

So I got Thursdays off pretty much every week for the past two months. Now Salty is on Friday, when we get shipments, the day of the week I have worked since I started...Good bye Salty. Looks like I'll just have to watch Hops now...
 
Checked out the website for this place. Apparently Friday is ladies night. Ya damn straight it is! /skullgirls
 
In that case, can someone get Mike (or MMDS, or whoever organized the location) to confirm that it is in fact on Friday?
 
That's during my meet (about 10pm here in GA) which is awesome for me. I usually commandeer the projectors for the SG matches I have and the occasional saltybets stream. Looks like I'll be spreading the salty goodness that is SG even more.

I never actually get to go to Salty Cupcakes Salty, but I think it'd be cool to, at least occasionally, bring some caramel salty cupcakes from frutsii as prizes and homage to SALTY!'s beloved ancestor. I can't tell others what to do with their money, but I doubt many would oppose and am almost certain many would pitch in.
 
I know at the end of the day I'm just a viewer, but why Friday? Some people have social lives or significant others who would get pissy at something like that. What was wrong with Thursday?
 
I imagine the new venue wouldn't work out for whatever reason if SALTY took place on Thursday instead of Friday.

Some people also have Social Lives/School/Job/etc during any night of the week as well so there is no perfect solution no matter what day or time is decided after a sudden schedule change due to circumstances happening.

If anything the final schedule change would be Tailor-made toward the Salty Cupcake regulars (although apparently one is already confirming he can't do Friday) because at least the viewers can check the Archives/Youtube later if they miss the initial showing.

Just have to bite to bullet and let things go their natural course.

Friday isn't entirely set in stone. We're trying it out. The main reason to move it there is so we're not competing with other weekly streams on Wednesday and Thursday.

Believe me, I would also like to reserve Friday for social things. :P

And yes, Weatherbee. It'll be THIS Friday. Bring your monitor just in case, if you can. We shouldn't need it, but it's our first time at this new venue, so we'll see how it goes.
 
So render, how's that Annie work going?
 
I'm sure annie will arrive when the times right its really only a matter of time and money and hard work that lab zero does so much of really ^^
