Cerebella Combo Collection (Alliteration)

Last catgirl I had, I crushed her into a gem, so not a good idea.

Seriously, why do you want a s.hk starter combo?

Edit : ok, maybe I should stop wondering and just combo craft.

Sorry to ask this but it's very hard to navigate these threads that passed through multiple patches of combos if you haven't been playing the character for months/don't want super specialized stuff yet:

What's the current "optimal" 1-bar damage for lightweights off of a MGR, airthrow, and air-to-air chain into j.HK (as in, not a jump-in, but OTGing off an air j.HK)? You don't need to tell me the actual combos, just the damage within 2-300.

Optimal combos (as far as I can tell) from MGR, NCH, and HCH. I'll list notations for an air-to-air combo that should get you good damage.
Here's combos for other stuff.

Air Throw:
Grab,
j.hk/j.lk (if you're high enough, you can get j.hk, if not do j.lk),
c.mk, j.mp, j.hk,
c.mp, s.hp, Kanchou,
s.lk, c.hp, j.lp mash, j.hp,
s.lp, s.lp, s.mp, s.hk, cerecopter, Dynamo (6400)

air-to-air J.hk (You essentially just do the MGR combo, that's the most I can get off one bar):
j.hk,
c.lk, c.mp, s.hp, Pummel Horse,
c.mp, s.hp, Kanchou,
c.mk, j.mp, j.hk,
s.lk, c.hp, j.lp mash, j.hp,
s.lp, s.lp, s.mp, s.hk, cerecotper, Dynamo (8200)

Edit: Was half asleep when I posted. Realized just now that you weren't asking for the combos. lol. But yeah, Cerebella effortlessly breaks 7k in most situations. If you can do 7k, you're good, cause that means two combos and you kill something the same size as you.

Just a filthy casual checking in here but er
I just moved on from basic Bella combos and I'm looking for some more intermediate ones. I saw that runstop is pretty crucial to all of her more advanced combos, so I decided to try them out, but they seem AWFULLY hard to get on keyboard.
Any advice?

Any advice?
push lk+mk at the same time when you run to get the fastest run stop possible. This also works with mk+hk for Kanchou and hp+hk for Battle Butt. The game will run with the higher priority button and then check to see if there are any other buttons held and execute that follow up. Punches also work for the follow ups so you can do f + throw for runstop as well.

Just to clarify : if you do run stop with kick + lp, the link will be 1f harder than if you do it with mk+lk or hk+lk. So if you can, you should really get used to using mk+lk instand of throw.

also, another thing is that if you hold down a button as you do tumble run you'll also get the command in the first possible frame

so if you want: c.lk > c.mp > s.hp > run stop > s.lp...

you can do: c.lk(hold) > c.mp > s.hp > tumble run > s.lp...

No, in fact if you want to do an "auto pummel horse" input you need to do throw + another kick (which causes some accidental assist calls if you don't hit the buttons on the same frame)

What's your combo right now?

Just a basic bnb. I think 7.6K damage?
It was posted on the forums here somewhere
j. HK restand in the middle and ends with cerecopter into dynamo. Not very complicated.

Try kanchou combos

c.lk, c.mp, s.hp, kanchou,
c.mk,
j.mp, j.hk,
s.hp, pummel horse,
c.mp, c.hp,
j.lp(mash), j.hp,
s.lpx2, s.mp, s.hk, cerecopter, dynamo

universal 8.8k

I wanted to answer the age old question, "how many Devil Horns can I fit in a combo?"
I am a bit late to answer that one (post dated october 2013...), but I just remembered that should be in this thread too, just so that question is answered clearly for skullgirls encore edition :

Bella Bypass for Lights
After that Devil Horn, you can just c.mk them in the air instead of wasting your OTG and light kick. I think maybe you could also then get some more damage after that by doing c.mk, j.mp, j.hk, s.hp, runstop, s.lk, c.hp, and then the rest how you did it.

Is this the max combo for Cerebella right now?
And does this work with all characters?

You said "this" but there are several combos in there.

Oh um.. the second combo or the first? My bad.

If they aren't optimal, they are pretty clost at the very least.
But they only work on lights.
And they are hard. Still practical, but you better have really good execution if you want to use them consistently.

plus the second combo only works off a counter hit off a heavy attack.

HCH combos are really something that everyone should have. That's a difference, for Bella, of 2-3k damage, which can be the difference between something being dead or not. As a solo, landing a HCH means whatever I hit can instantly die, something I can't guarantee otherwise.

But they only work on lights.
The first combo could end with s.hk cerecopter instead of c.hp excellebella and get another, like, 400 damage (also, no second s.lp, and s.mp would do more than c.mp in that last chain). But other than that, I think it is optimal. My NCH combo has evolved slightly since the video on this page and now gets 10.6k (trading the tiny bit of extra damage to work on everyone).

And yeah. Lights only. And hard. But fancy. The hype if that landed in a tournament match would be godly.

in the corner s.lpx2, c.mk, 6hp, delayed cerecopter, dynamo works on everyone (little weird on BB tho) and does the most damage on a standing character.

I've never tried doing something interesting for Bella
this came out last night, tho
You should be able to get more than 8.6k off a starter like that.

I tried some M shadow > kanchou > c.mk xx devil horns, but got frustrated and went for the easy way.
Even tho I've been running Bella for a long time, only recently I accepted that grapplers are fun to play with and also that I shouldn't judge a character gameplay by its story mode, so yeah, putting some effort in her.

Probably works on every light character, not sure
Tested on peacock, valentine and filia.
Parasoul drops too fast after j.hp and pops OTG, so I didn't bother trying on other heavies and mediums.

It works on mids btw, you just have do s.lp instead of s.lk

switch place between s.lk and s.lp and it becomes doable on all lights and mediums.
Not doable on heavies except if you're godlike and mastered the c.hp double jump j.hp tech.

To get 9.7k :
c.lk c.mp c.hp
j.hp
s.lp c.mk
j.mp j.hk
s.hp pummel horse
c.mp s.hk copter dynamo
c.lk c.mp s.hk copter dynamo (or titan knuckle intead of s.hk on lights to get 9876)

but that requires a pummel horse and you hate that, I know.

Try kanchou combos
s.hp, pummel horse,
Any tips for this portion of the combo? I'm having a distinctly hard time trying to get the pummel horse to connect.

Try practicing using H run just because it seems easier especially for runstop combos. Also if your trying to solo Kanchou combo, use c.MP to s.HP to Kanchou. It's hard at first if you haven't done it because holding back for c.MP and going to s.HP isn't that easy for some people.

Before doing s.hp, keep holding back.
Like, c.lk c.mk jump j.mp hold back j.hk s.hp press front + mk > lk+lp
This video kinda shows up. Pay attention to the stick on the bottom. You should be holding back since the move that comes before the pummel horse.

I do hold back before s.hp. I don't have trouble getting pummel horse to work, it's just that almost every time that I get it off it gets blocked.
c.lk, c.mp, s.hp, kanchou,
c.mk,
j.mp, j.hk,
s.hp, pummel horse,
c.mp, c.hp,
j.lp(mash), j.hp,
s.lpx2, s.mp, s.hk, cerecopter, dynamo
See, my problem is after the j. hk restand and the s.hp follow up, when I try to do pummel horse it usually get blocked by the dummy in training. I've only been able to successfully link s.hp into pummel horse about 1 out of every 10-15 times.
It feels like I'm pulling pummel horse as instantaneously as I can, too, so I really have no idea how to go about this.

EDIT: On a side note, why is it that I can't do the starting chain (c.lk c.mp s.hp kanchou) against another Bella? I use the exact same timing on all other characters and it works perfectly but when I practice against a Bella bot she blocks the kanchou every time.

Hold lp and lk, then just do forward + mk or hk (after charging obviously,) it will give you a pummel horse as quick as it can possibly come out. With kanchou I just do forward + mk, then hold mp. I pretty much plink the mp after mk I hit them so fast.

oh, and i didn't address your bella concern with kanchou. The trick to it is to delay the st.hp as long as possible, and to do the kanchou instantly. Delaying the st.hp allows you to travel just a teeny bit further from cr.mp which lets you do kanchou just that much quicker (since you have less distance to travel to get to the other side.) The timing is annoying and I drop it a lot.

Gotcha. I was trying to figure out how to get Kanchou out as quickly as possible and I think that'd do nicely.

You can just do [4]6-[LPLKMK] for Pummel Horse or [4]6-[MKHK] for Kanchou, no need to plink or whatever; holding all buttons at the same time works fine and gives you fastest possible versions of the moves.

Doing Pummel this way sometimes causes accidental assistcalls, but unless you're running Peacock Lv3 SoID or something, the assist just whiffs during the Pummel animation and leaves again; since it didn't hit, you can call it again later in the combo if you so desire (woo, free meter!).

Here, this is my first Bella combo since I might play this character in the future;

cLK cMP sHP xx RunStop
sLP cMK
- jMP jHK
sHP xx RunPummel
cMP cHP
- jLPx4 jHP
cLK cMP sHK xx Copter xx Dynamo

Char Universal, Preserves OTG, 7826 Damage (8266 with Titan after Dynamo), Plenty Reset points

With the Pummel trick, pretty much the only hard part for me is/was the jLP restand,
Mashing felt awfully inconsistent and jLPx3 impossible to learn proper;
Thanks to a suggestion by @gllt I now use jLPx4, which feels decently natural and reliable.

E: Apparently this is sorta what everyone has been doing in the first place, so hey I have great imagination and things
