Painwheel Beowulf Double
DUE TO UPDATES TO THE GAME, SOME COMBOS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW DEFUNCT. PLEASE REFER TO PAGE 3 ONWARDS FOR UPDATED DOUBLE COMBOS AND LINKS TO NEW STUFF.

Routes haven't really changed, but Undizzy limits have shortened Double's combos quite a bit.

You should probably just call this the double combo thread...
Anyway, holy crap your good at the luger loop. I can never time that thing right, it always becomes an OTG for me. And the fridge is better for OTG's, so... yeah.
Although you're saying that you use the stick to dash instead of PP? Is that your secret, you sly dog? I'll have to try that when I'm not working.
 
Very NICE!!! I'm thinking about my next character being Double or Val since Eliza's gonna take a bit longer to drop, but yeah i'd call this the Double Combo Video Thread if I were you. change it! lol
 
Everything is great except for one small thing. The only Double double snap combo that maters is the frig loop (s.lk > s.hk > frig > repeat):p

I can't get it to work :(

Luger Loops for fun and profit. Scaling friendly, and slightly easier to put in a combo than j.MK(1),j.HK xx Barrel. Remember to use F,F to dash and hold F to make use of BasedWippler's dash buffer.

That combo looks really fun to try and do, also I need to suck less at consistent dashes so I should try it. Though how do you get it started without that specific assist?

Because s.MK raises the opponent off the ground, that's the only way to get double (HA!) s.HK outside of the corner.

Just don't do two s.HKs if you don't have an assist like that. It's more for style over substance.
 
I've just been doing double barrel loop, s.lp, s.mkx2, launch, j.mp, j.mk, fridge, car or cats.
Whats more optimal? Like what gets more dmg?

You can do double barrel loops and then after fridge Cr.MP, Cr.HP, Hornet Bomber Car provided you're in the corner.(7.7kish)

most optimal damage(to my knowledge) depends on where you land a hit and how heavy the character you're fighting is. I get 8.6k on light weights in the corner, 8.5 vs parasoul and bella, and midscreen 8.3k on everyone except double. There are also variations to the 8.3k combos, some only working on lights. (
) -You can add a J.MK before fridge for more damage.

works on everyone but double, and works anywhere on the screen. But because its easier to drop on people like filia or fortune I tent to use either domos combo or
depending where I landed the hit.

Double you can do triple barrel loops into the Cr.MP, Cr.Hp, Hornet bomber ender and it does 8.3 iirc

I need someone to explain the timing of luger loops. I want to use one as at the moment I'm doing fridge -> barrel -> barrel -> bandwagon, so it would be super easy to fit in a luger, but I'm physically incapable of timing that dash and s.MK in a way that doesn't OTG.

From my experience shooting a luger and dashing-> s.MK only works on the light weights and is still pretty hard to do on like fortune and squigly lol. Chances are you have more time than you think to land the s.MK so let double dash all the way before pressing the button. If that's not if then your ability to land it depends on where you launched and when you shot the luger, but I don't have any advice to find that timing other than trial and error.
 
The combo that I'm using requires an assist that will combo from mp luger yet won't knockdown. I'm using squiglys drag n bite, this combo starter isn't pushblockable, well its pushblockable but you won't get pushed pushed out as long as you start it from somewhat close also carries corner to corner and sets up pw install into reset/pressure perfectly:

Cr.lk,cr.hp xx mp luger plus dragnbite, dash x2 or flesh step, st.mkx2,st.hk xx hp luger, dash,cr.mp,st.hk, j.lk (1),j.mk (2), j.hk xx mk barrel,st.lk,st.mkx2,st.hk,j.lp,j.mk(2), j.hk xx mk barrel,cr.lp,st.mkx2,cr.hp xx hk Bomber xx car

Does about 8k damage.
 
Here's the one I use when I play Solo Double, 8k damage and really hard to do on fats.


It's just a ton of boring ol' barrel loops, so I had Peacock help make it a little less boring.
 
Is what I do on double atm. You can do this vs the rest of the cast but you have to cancel the 2nd hit of J.MK into J.HK like you did in SDE to get triple barrel loops. Does 8.2(or 8.3 depending) on those guys.

Slightly different combo in the corner vs Filia, Peacock, Fortune, Painwheel that does more damage

If anyone happens to play Double/Cerebella. On the characters not the light weights you can do Cr.MK, Cr.HP, J.MP, J.MK, St.LP(2), Cr.MP, St.HK, Cerecopter for pretty much the same or more damage I don't remember

Kicking it back week 1 vanilla style. Unfortunately I haven't figured out a parasoul variation, it's probably possible with dash mp c.hp but I can't get it, can't get c.mk c.hp flesh step c.mp/mp to work either. The alternative would be something like dash lk c.hp flesh step c.mp hk and link straight to mk-mk after the barrel but the flesh step seems to always get me facing the wrong way.

Edit: Alright I learned it! This is great for me since I'm personally not a fan of keeping double in the corner when hitting people, and I can take them out of the corner with cilia slide. How could I forget?

goddamn why dont I do this already? Double has pretty bad reset options in the corner anyway (although i did see that crossup setup of yours with jump back j.lk that was pretty slick)

Pretty easy to do and works on everyone but Double, I think. <_<

The hilarious thing is how some characters interact with L Pinion. The first s.HK will hit one way, and H Luger will autocorrect in the opposite direction and still combo depending on who you're smacking around and what timing you use.
 
I can never seem to land the cr.MP after cillia slide, it always seems to be just too short to hit them.

depends who you're trying it on. Doesn't work on parasoul at all, but on fortune you can do st.mp instead. Works on the others as well and its more consistent
 
ah i did try it on fortune mostly, though i remember it not working on others.. also speaking of parasoul for some reason i can't seem to land throw, dash s.LK, s.MK anymore. though i feel c.MK could work.
 
dash as in para dash or flesh step? after throw do flesh step st.lk to convert, and you might be able to do cr.mk to save ur lk. In fact I'm like 90% sure you can.
 
simple, easy corner thing with filia assist
works on everybody but val and squig

probably not optimized?

 
The problem with Parasoul is that she has a VERY thin "On Ground Bounce" animation. :|

I don't think a video is necessary since the combo is basically made up of parts of other combos already posted in the thread. This is like 8.4k or something, so not as good as like the Cilia Slide stuff, but what I like about it is that it works on every character without any modifications. There's a slight timing variation on Double where you have to delay the j.LP a little, but otherwise that's it. I will say that the s.MK link after barrel is difficult on heavies, but it does work.

My current (non-loopy) Double combos:
In the corner:
lk>mk>mk>hk>j.lp>j.mk>jhk>barrel>c.lk>mk>mk>hk>lugar>LP (hit the opponent BEFORE groundbounce)>mk>mk>hp>*bomber>*Legion/Car


Midscreen:
lk>mk>mk>hk>j.lp>j.mk>j.hk>barrel>c.mp>mk>mk>hk>lugar>dash-up lk>mk>mk>**HP>bomber>*Legion/Car

*I don't always do Bomber or Legion
**Depends on how close they are to the corner. I may omit this.

They aren't the most damaging things in the world, but at least they aren't straight-up barrel loops.

The 5MK link can be difficult on Parasoul, you can just use LK if you are struggling.

Barrel loops starting with j.LP don't work in the corner. Barrel loops starting with j.LK don't work anywhere.
