Squigly Unknown Unknown
So I recently bought and decided to main Squigly. I've had a few match-up troubles as her - namely Double-, but I've learnt to stancel some of her combos. I'm not looking to play super high tier any time soon, so It's just me and my friends. My main question is out of the other characters I'm competent with, which one suits playing with her the best.

I play Cerebella, Ms. Fortune and Parasoul. I don't particularly want to Big Band, because I really struggle against fast projectiles as both. I would be willing to pick up Valentine, and Eliza when she's out. Reasons would be nice, and I'll probably end up doing some though on this myself, so I can reply intelligently to things.

1st-Parasoul (Napalm pillar)
2nd-Squigly (Drag n bite)
3rd-Cerebella (LnL H)

You don't have to use the assists I listed. Parasoul builds nice meter for Squigly to use while Cerebella provides a useful assist. Valentine, Ms. Fortune, and Cerebella, could replace Parasoul if you want a different point character. Napalm pillar is easier to convert off of than Fiber upper. Valentine's assist options are really bad if you choose her. Cerebella and Ms. Fortune are the best anchors in the list though you could still do Parasoul anchor. Your current team is fine if it works for you. As for Double, a well timed napalm pillar can prevent j.hp.

I tried this out before I responded. I find Ms. Fortune to have really awkward assist options, so If I included her sometimes should she be my Lead-In? Yeah I feel most comfortable with Ms. Fortune or Valentine as Lead. Squigly is technically my best character at this point, but there's a lot of people who she just isn't fast enough to do anything meaningful to at close range. I didn't find Drag'n'Bite that useful, if I'm honest.

for squigs i'd say

if you want squigs point with fortune in it then do this

squigs(DNB ITS USEFUL FOR FORTUNE)/ para(napalm pillar)/ fortune(M fiber).

if you want bella and fortune

then squigs(c hp)/fortune(m fiber)/ bella ( copter)

The best assists Val offers squigs is throw and savage bypass. I use savage bypass (M) because it's faster making it really easy to get a confirm off Squigly's j.hp, but you can use the H version if you really want. Throw is useful for some gimmicky resets. If it connects you get a free charge, but don't forget throw assists can be teched. Mortuary drop might be useful too and since it is a command grab it can't be teched. You might be able to do silver chord > mortuary drop, but I never tried it so i wouldn't know.

If you want to talk about Squigly/Val I would strongly suggest paging @Nuuance .

I've been running fortune(h fiber)/Squigly(c.hp)/double(mk bomber) and loving it. Squigly is excellent when backed by bomber and fortune builds plenty of meter for her to work with. Plus Fortune can DHC into opera from either super, which is a huge plus.

@Bit_Strife runs Val/Squigly/Bella and does pretty well with the valentine + c.hp shenanigans.

Val crMK is great for Squigly. You can throw that out in the middle of jump loops and catch them slipping. Copter is kinda Squigly's best friend. It gives her mix ups and a good way to charge. Can get you a combo off throw stanceless and meterless. Adds good damage to combos. It's pretty great. But Squigly isn't a great point in my opinion. She can do it but she's not a great battery is the issue.

Once Eliza hits consoles, I wanted to do a "Musical" troupe of a Team consisting of Squigly/Eliza/Big Band for aesthetic reasons. Plus both Big Band and Eliza have some decent Assist options seeing they have armored moves, which in turn will allow for enough pushback/knockdown to let you get a charge in (or dash jump in with j.HP if need be.) Squigly needs the kind of assist that either A.) Allows her to start her mix-ups/getting in on the opponent or B.) Allows her to get some leverage and momentum going. For the most part, it definitely seems that way anytime I par Squigly on point on a team.
Anyone else agree with this choice?

So far my main go-to is a set between Squigly(Drag N' Bite)/Big Band(Beat Extend H)/Tech
or
Squigly(c.HP or Silver Chord)/Fukia(Love Dart)/Parasoul(Napalm pillar)

I've been running Eliza point with Drag n Bite as the assist. It adds a bit more damage and means I can skip the Spiral link in my combos. Not the greatest for neutral, but I like the combo help

With regards to Eliza as a partner for Squigly (which is my current team), if you run Butcher's Blade assist you can get a full Seria charge from 0 during the hitstun of Butcher's Blade and continue the combo after it.

And also Opera > Lady of Slaughter is a pretty insane DHC since the thing stays on the screen. Some high/low setups with the overhead sekh are absurd and Eliza really enjoys a low-hitting assist from what I'm noticing.

I play this same team and I'm planning in adding Fortune to the mix. The idea was Fortune/Squigly/Eliza. The gameplan is to opera dhc early and keep playing with squigs on point.

But even though I like the idea of the stuff above and a Fiber assist to cover Squigly defensively, I'm starting to think Eliza sucks as an anchor in that case.

Any suggestions?

Currently I'm using Squigly (Assist c.HP - one of the best footsies) with Parasoul (Assist Napalm Pillar for defensive support - Squigly's anti-air is abysmal with no charge) and Fukua (Assist Forever a Clone - Heavy, because Squigly's overhead is slow, and you can use it to extend combos without using your Silver Chord)

Fortune/Squigly/Eliza
I tend to use cHK for the Eliza Assist, as it's a better drag'n'bite, and both squigly and fortune can restand/ hit confirm from it into a combo. You can use it defensively too, because it has that armor.
For Squigly, her cHP is her best low assist in my opinion.
Fortune is weird, I'd recommend a Be-Headed or a Medium Fibre-Upper. Be-headed can get a stagger to extend your combos nicely, and super cancelling is nice. Also Fortune builds meter for Squigs really well. The Fibre-Upper is the only other choice that works, and it's good enough Anti-Air. I'm not sure how to run that team though since Eliza and Squigly need a lot of meter, and MF can build it up, but she's not the best anchor for it.
