This was one of my favorite threads in the old site and I am reviving it.

Simply, put any headcanon here. Be it relationships, future plots, powers, quirks, personalities.

PS: I am really mad because I totally got one of my headcanons with Squigly's story, but now with the site dead I can't brag about it.

Feel free to judge if this is true or not.

I really like the idea that Ms. Fortune is still scarred by the murder of the Fishbone Gang.

......

Emotionally scarred.

She manages to have a fairly perky and upbeat attitude, but it seems like she may still be struggling to cope, even with the possibility of wishing them back with the Skullheart.

Also, despite past events, I still believe that Juju is Parasoul's Lvl 1 Super sniper... and the president.

I think that's entirely likely. Sometimes when she is defeated in a match, she says,

"...better this way..."

...in a tone of voice that is far different from her usual cheerful voice. Perhaps it reflects a longing to die? Perhaps she thinks she'd be better off dead? Maybe some part of her is hoping to get killed. Maybe she's even tried to commit suicide many times, but failed each time.

As for my personal headcanon, I refuse to believe that Cerebella thinks of Vitale as anything more than a father figure. That would just be too gross. TOO GROSS. Even if I saw a picture of Cerebella sitting in Vitale's lap wearing a bunny girl costume, I still would refuse to believe that she has any romantic feelings for him.

After all, there has never been such a picture. Never.

In my headcanon she has a Elektra complex.

After all the game is about cute girls with disturbing aspects in them.

Ahhh, how I missed this thread. Here what I had previously posted about my head cannon about Panzerfaust and Adam.

-Panzerfaust is one-of-a-kind, strong, loyal, an absolute engine of destruction. When enemy soldiers see him barreling towards them, they know death is imminent. What most don't know, is that off the battle field, PF is not the Mechanized Golem of Hades, but rather a large ham. Possessing an incredible lust for life in the post-war era, he enjoys assembling his fellow Egrets for movie and games night when off duty.

-Adam is a skilled soldier and feels that he doesn't get respect due to being saddled with taking care of Umbrella. In actuality, during a particularly grisly mission against a fanatical band of mercenaries who had overtaken a town, several of the Egrets and townspeople were killed and Adam found himself cut off from Parasoul and the remaining troops after a freak storm. To make matters worse, Adam had found a few surviving children severely ill and fading fast. For the next three days Adam spent his sleepless nights killing untold amounts of men using improvised tactics. By the time the troops had been able to brave the storm and reach Adam, he stood in a valley of corpses. Due to his talents, the children were able to be rescued and each fully recovered. Unfortunately for Adam he remained silent for a month. Since then, he has mostly kept an abnormal calm in the worst of situations and maintains an objective focus on all missions. Being saddled with comparatively simple duties and taking care of Umbrella is Parasoul’s way of trying to ease him back into the field, but also showing that she recognizes his amazing ability to protect her most precious jewel- her sister.

Wow I didn't expect the head canons to be so grisly in this thread, I'm afraid I'll look childish if I post my head canon about Beowulf...
Psssh whatever I'll do it anyway.
During his retirement Beowulf spent the last 10 years working as a librarian in different libraries around the kingdom, his earliest stay was at Filia's high school. He also stayed completely incognito during this time. With regular clothes and a pair of fake reading glasses Beowulf is unrecognizable by the masses, like Superman as Clark Kent.

As a result of being surrounded by books for many years Beowulf is an avid reader and is well versed in world history. However his most recent job at the massive public library at Canopolis has left him yearning for the battlefield once again. Feeling that he has learned all he needed to about the ages he decides to come out of retirement. He dons a new wolf pelt, takes up The Hurting, and ventures out in pursuit of a challenge. He does all of this in a more manly variant of his librarian clothes, hence the argyle sweater vest, loafers, high socks, suspenders, etc.

Head Canon inspired by this:

ALEX AHAD IF YOU'RE READING THIS FEEL FREE TO MAKE THIS CANON.
I DON'T WANT ANYTHING FOR IT, A SHOUT-OUT TO DENIZEN WOULD BE ENOUGH.

That draw of Beowulf is really famous.

If you think those are dark you should have seen the posts in the old forum.

Still there are a lot of light things in the world. One of the game's themes is cute with creepy, so please, balance us out.

Specially now that I am writing a fic.

I choose to believe that the dog with a weird marking on its back that appears in a Painwheel flashback is Samson, possessing a dog for a host, as he is eyeing up his next victim (Filia).

Picture4.png

Just based on Filia's facial expression in the couple of flashbacks we see of her, I choose to believe that she was a major bitch before Samson got to her. Here's the backstory I made up for Filia.

Lab Zero told Valentine to kidnap a schoolgirl to use as a test subject. Valentine targeted Filia and cornered her, but Filia begged Valentine to spare her, saying that she was a member of the Medicis and that there would be a giant commotion if she was kidnapped. Filia said that she could provide a much better schoolgirl to kidnap. Valentine wanted to avoid the commotion of kidnapping someone important, so she decided to trust Filia.

Filia hated Carol, so she decided to trick Carol into following her to a location where she was kidnapped by Valentine. Valentine whisked Carol off to Lab Zero, and she was turned into Painwheel.

On her way home, Filia complimented herself on her two accomplishments. Not only had she avoided being kidnapped, she had also gotten rid of her least favorite classmate at the same time. While she was laughing happily about her achievements, she attracted the attention of a certain dog. She likes dogs (this is real, it's in her official bio) so she stopped to pet the doggy, and then...Samson struck.

For nourishment, he ate her memories, and then pretended her didn't know why she was suddenly an amnesiac, and feigned sympathy for her to make sure she would be a compliant host.

At least, all of that is what makes the most sense to me!

I managed to save one of the pages from the old headcanon thread. I'll upload it if I can find where I put it.

-Isaac's last name is Clock.

Before the board crashed, there was a thread for Albus and Horace, Eliza's bodyguards. Here's what I had posted:

Both characters are cool, but gotta represent the canines! Hah. Going off of Vadsamoht's idea, I can see Albus being older, sarcastic sprinkled with surley and knows a bit more about Eliza than the new youthful and cool headed Horace. Horace's glasses to me would be significant in a goofy symbolism part; Young energetic, excited to be working for Eliza as his big break, but tends to turn a blind eye to her "secret habits." He's happy to be getting a job with a star, living the fancy life and occasionally getting to bust some heads.

Al has known Eliza longer (since the beginning) and seen her blossom into the star she is. He prefers her when she's just being a star and not a sultry vampiric femme fatale, and is not the biggest fan of her connection to Sekhmet. Since being forced by the Medici's to do their bidding, he's especially on edge and wants to protect his beloved mistress.

I tend to overanalyze things, so looking at Albus' expression versus Horace, he looks like he's unhappy and trying not to pay attention to Eliza flaunting her parasitic form, yet Horace is neutral and basking in the light, eye glasses shading and expression that may be present in his eyes. With that I came to the above conclusion.

Now for Al's playstyle:

Going with the analyzing/ weighing the worthiness of the dead aspect of his character that I saw on wikipedia for Anubis, I get an analytical vibe, so I want to make him a more defensive fighter with counters and some keep away maneuvers (my fightning game terminologies suck, so forgive me if the last one isn’t an actual tactic)

Plus his surly nature could be tied to the Greek interpretation of him being tied to Cerberus and thus he could have a rage mode of sorts. “You think I’m from the underworld?! Fine, I’ll send you there myself, punk!”

Kind of drawing a blank on what types of moves he could possess though. I keep wanting to give him weapons, but I like the idea of him doing things barehanded or utilizing abilities (inherent powers or magic) for when he encounters more dangerous or “worthy” foes.

THIS. This is how you know you have a good headcanon. When other people adopt the same headcanon after hearing it and when it is backed up by actual evidence. The only thing I don't really agree with is Filia completely hating Carol. I still agree that Filia probably used her as a patsy to save her own skin but this picture tells me they were at least on good terms.

When I first saw this image, I got the impression that Filia was smirking arrogantly while Carol was innocently unaware of whatever was going through Filia's mind...that's what sowed the seeds for my theory that Filia misled and tricked Carol for personal benefit.

But now that I can see this image again, I don't really see the animosity that I originally thought I saw...

Maybe they were friends, in fact maybe Carol was the only one who accepted Filia for who she is and not as a mafia princess that the other students feared and ran away from. Maybe that's why Filia looks so cruel in her old images, maybe it's bitterness from never having a real friend.
But maybe Filia and Carol had an argument that weakened their friendship for a moments time, enough time to sell Carol out to Valentine in the heat of anger. If Filia didn't lose her memories to Samson, maybe she would regret her brash decision.
Wow that's a whole lot of maybes.

Maybe Filia sold out her best friend, and regretted her decision so much that she wanted to forget it all. Then Samon shows up (in the form of a dog) and makes her an offer.

"I can make those painful memories go away forever, if you'll just give me one little thing in return..."

I think she'd want to forget it because I figure she'd be the type that she's be consumed with guilt over selling Carol out as, I think, Carol was her only real friend. All her other "friends" at school were just pretenders who only wanted to get in the good graces of her powerful family.

I like the idea of mean rich girl filia. Heck, forget Fukua, I want a playable version of Filia with her memories back who bosses Samson around and is a total jerk.

This gives me an idea for a fan art.

So apparently this thread is different from the Skullgirls Lore speculation Thread. I'd better post mine about Beowulf: http://art-of-lala.tumblr.com/post/59861917253/some-speculation

There are some additional headcanons I have, one is that in Beowulf's ending, Beowulf retrieves the Skullheart and decides to keep it into his collection. But as he gets out, he gets killed by someone, either Black Dahlia or Double.

A-yup, I'm on board with most of that. The whole "Fillia was a Medici alpha-bitch who fed Carol to lab zero angle" seems the obvious interpretation given Fillia's name and the hints we are given. The 'Samson in a doggie' angle is a nice touch.

The thing that bugs me about Fillia though, is that Marie's reaction to her implies that she is a fairly major figure in the Medici clan. Given that, and given that her amnesia means that she's currently AWOL, why doesn't Cera have a bigger reaction to her?

My instinct is that Fillia is the daughter of Vitali, or at least some similarly important in the Medici clan. As the daughter of the de-facto ruler of Meridian, she is a callous, manipulative egomaniac, and does not take kindly at all to some other girl in class acting like she's damned royalty or something. So when Lab Zero farms out the business of finding a suitable test subject to the Medicis (because these things are best left to professionals) Fillia catches wind of it and is only too happy to suggest the perfect candidate.

But Vitali, being the misogynistic wanker that he is, doesn't stay fond of daughter dearest for long. She does.... something to earn his ire. Maybe an attack of conscience. Fillia is exiled from the family, becoming a taboo subject within the Medici clan. Before long, someone decides to bump her off and she sustains the injury that gives her amnesia.

This presumes a longer gap between Fillia selling Carol up the river and her hooking up with Samson. It does leave the option open of Samson being more sympathetic, saving Fillia from a dire situation - although after Squigly's story mode, I kinda lean towards the idea of Samson being the manipulative git Leviathan believes him to be.

Yours is also a good one.

When it comes to her personality, I think that Filia by nature could be a good person, the problem is that her nurture buried all that with mobster "morality". When she is affected by amnesia, her personality is also reseted so she ends as a 16 year old that wasn't dirtied by the mafia. If she ends getting her memories back these two sides will clash.

Oh my God!! I never noticed the teeth on the dogs back

Head canon for Cerebella: Her parents were killed by the previous skullgirl during the grand war at the age of 11. Bella's street performance was so entertaining that Vitale found interest in her skills and thus adopted her into the family. Cerebella, unaware of the medici's true intentions, agreed to stay with the family. There, she performed many exciting shows at the cirque de cartes while undergoing combat training as a leg breaker to make the mafia's plans a lot easy. Cerebella deeply loves the family as she thinks they will always be there for her support. However, she is unaware that the medici are only using her as a pawn.

I'm pretty sure Cerebella is completely aware of the Medici Mafia's actions on a day to day basis, and as a leg breaker also participates in them. But since this is the Head Canon Thread and not the Speculation Thread I wont argue against it.

I have a headcanon for Peacock, although I'm not sure whether it's scientifically true or not.

I think that before the War, Patricia moved in from the city, which is why that despite Peacock and Marie come from the same area, they have different accents. That or that when Patricia has been transformed into Peacock, she was given a new voice box which gave her a new accent. Also I think Peacock's voice sounds robotic because Patricia was forced by the slave traders to drink a pill which gives permanent damage to her voice box, thus shutting her up completely.

The first sounds more plausable since an accent is more of a mentality of HOW your pronounce not your ability too.

Its not founded in anything concrete but I do feel like Brain Drain has a prideful feeling towards Painwheel. The concept similar to a God / Creator feels towards his created subject. More specifically I guess would be a weapon designer in this case looks on the tool they created. People like John Browning let the designs stir in their heads for weapons like the B.A.R. and 1911 pistol and were proud of their creations despite anyone else's input they not only pushed the weapons as far as able at the time they did so with care and meticulousness.

I see Brain Drain as that sort of individual. Throw a control freak personality on top of it with maybe some OCD and he's a prime candidate for "Best Dad" in skullgirls by a wide margin. I don't believe its ever said what Brain Drains origins are outside of being the only successful experiment of his kind considering that he may also suffer "Survivors Guilt" and seek to do right by those who did not make it through. All of this done seemingly to stop the skullgirl. I try to put myself in a characters place when looking at the world around them and in Brain Drains case he may cherish the fact he's no longer human. He also likely judges others by this standard as well.

I got hit with this idea days ago but I couldn't word it right.
The gist of it is that *I think* the "lost timeline" the Samson listed as a playable DLC on Indiegogo could be from is specifically the old canon:
http://skullgirls.wikia.com/wiki/SkullgirlS (yeah, with the "S" at the end)
That version of Samson is a lot meaner going by this old bio.

I like to think that Aeon likes to collect different endings for each character because she enjoys stories. Evil Samson is one of them.

Oh yeah, that old bio also said Filia "planned on entering medical school" (pre-amnesia obviously)... idk, unless something in-canon happens that says otherwise I'd like to think that's true here too.

Another thing is that I was under the impression that Delilah was Samson's old host at one point.

One of mine is that Painwheel, back when she was Carol, and Filia pre-samson had both been captured by Valentine. The two managed to make a dash for an escape.

Contrary to implications Filia was always a good friend to Carol and stuck up for her and wanted her to be more assertive. Filia managed to escape and gave her word she'd come back for help. That was when Samson struck and stole her memories, dooming Carol to become Painwheel.

It would explain Filia's guilt and how it's never clearly said that Filia sold out Carol. Also Painwheel never seems to show excessive rage towards Filia.

Whenever two characters fight, there is a chance that you'll hear a short exchange between them before the fight begins (like the infamous "you can has cheezeburger" remark from Cerebella).

Before Filia fights Double, she might say, "Do I know you?" to which Samson replies, "No, you don't!"

I went into versus mode and made Filia fight a few other characters, and she didn't say "Do I know you?" to any one of them, except for Double.

If Filia says "Do I know you?" to Double during a multiplayer match, Samson doesn't say anything. He only makes the "No, you don't!" quip if it's a singleplayer match.

Apparently, Filia knows and recognizes Double, and Samson doesn't want her to think about it very much. What could this mean?

Perhaps Samson is in cahoots with Double. Double is the shadow of Lamia, a member of the Trinity and the "big bad" of Skullgirls, according to Double's model sheet. So is Samson indirectly (or directly) helping Lamia's scheme / Double's scheme? Maybe Samson was a good guy at one point in time (or, at least, a better guy) until Lamia began corrupting him, turning him into the jerk he is today. Leviathan is pretty vocal about how Samson is an even worse guy now than he was in the past.

Maybe Double is the one who erased Filia's memory. Maybe if Filia knew more about Double, she'd have evidence that Samson doesn't have her best interests in mind. Maybe Filia somehow discovered Lamia or unwittingly interfered with Lamia's plans, and her punishment was the loss of her memory - and then she was gifted to Samson as a host.

This is all very wild speculation based on two lines of dialogue when Filia sees Double, but...hey, you never know...

MIND. FUCKED.

I'll risk saying this without checking it in the game (since I can't do that right now), but as someone who plays Peacock on point, I'm pretty sure I heard Filia and Samson go "Do I know you?" - "You don't!" against her quite a lot. I assumed it's either a generic thing that Filia in her current state could honestly say to most people she encounters, or something Peacock specific, maybe a nod to Skullgirls' pre-pre-pre-alpha story where Filia and Peacock seemed to clash quite a bit.

I guess the first thing I'll say is an obvious conclusion one could make. Parasoul and Valentine are sworn rivals and may have been decent acquaintances in the past. Maybe I look at too much fan art but there is too many mirrors in their character. Both similar body builds with opposite personalities. Parasoul is strict, prideful, and generally more of a person who fights for a group. Valentine on the other hand while serious is more mischievous, not necessarily prideful, but do to her comrades dieing more concerned with her individual duty to eventually stop the skullheart. The only person Valentine cares about right now on a somewhat deeper level that shows vulnerability would be Painwheel. Despite similiar body types Parasoul doesn't flaunt her sexuality while Val does. Plus their is the deeply personal insults during battle, see traitors quote and your majesty. I think this will be explored more as the story goes on.

I feel Painwheel will eventually directly confront in a fight against Brain Drain, as was hinted at her ending. I also feel due to her being such a loner character in the story and having such powerful drive, as well as her connection to Filia, I think she will become very powerful story wise. Like, she is significantly more powerful than many of other playable characters right now due to her desire for revenge, plus fuel from her parents rejection. Painwheel and Val also might team up since they both hate Brain Drain and Val actually does secretly care for Painwheel. Or that may just be the fanboyism in me.

Someone mentioned this on the old site as liking to think Valentine is a virgin. Not really important but I like to think because this cause its a contrast to her flaunting of her sexuality. Plus, being in the such a heavy group that was meant to destroy the skullgirl probably meant she didn't have any time for romance.

Another old site tidbit I liked that someone said Cerebella would slowly go crazy. This makes perfect sense she has so much pressure as a circus star, is constantly kept at a distance from Vitale, rivalry with Beatrix, and people who will tell her all the evil things her "family" has done. She has already shown to be hostile, she going to crack and might go against Medici due to his constant rejection of her.

Take all this is from a scrub so...

She is literally 90% drills.

In my Regina haircanon, she has a unflinching ahoge under the hat. It is her greatest secret besides being a man.

I got a few headcanons for our glorious Eliza Oujo-sama, but I feel bad for adding anything after the complex stuff some folks here came up with. (.__.)
Anyway, I imagine her adaptation to modern times while successful was not whole so she still clings to ancient societal structures like slavery and class rule (her popularity as a diva only reinforces that) and crazy high tech stuff like Peacock and Painwheel leaves her completely gobsmacked.
Given her powers and theme, I think she doesn't have any internal organs and her body is liquid like Jedah's.
Owns a art collection depicting her in several styles, ranging from her pre-parasite days to current times and covering the Skullverse equivalents of ancient Egyptian art, Van Gogh, William Blake, Picasso, Rodin, Rembrandt, etc.
Also, and a little more macabre, she has a collection of skull cups made of her most distinguished enemies (Delilah's being her most prized possession), all lacquered and covered in gold leaf. Because being a Egyptian vampire diva emulating Oda Nobunaga is the awesomest thing ever.
