What the hell does taunt do?

OK, I figured I'd compile what's been tested so far and maybe we can solve this mystery

Does not affect Daisy Pusher (either mechanically or the flower that shows up)
Has no apparent affect on SBO
Ditto for level 3.
Doesn't affect charge times
Has no visible affect on any of Leviathan's flame attacks
Does not instant kill Marie (and let me tell you how much of a bitch it was to get the full animation off)

Mike said it has an actual effect now.
 
Maybe it affects witch phrase Squigly says when she wins/loses/attacks/etc. Much like Parasoul's taunt.
 
Here's what I got from some random things I tried:

- Does not give you or your opponent meter
- Does not make c.LP last longer (didn't notice any effect when you used c.LP after winning either)
- Doesn't seem to have any obvious affect on her snap
- Didn't seem to affect the match timer in any way
- Didn't seem to make her dashes any faster or her jumps any higher
- Doesn't heal any health
- Doesn't seem to affect her stancel speed (charged or otherwise)
- Didn't notice any affect on win quotes

Unfortunately I have to leave for work soon, but I'll probably try more random stuff when I get back (if the mystery hasn't been figured out by then)
 
Maybe something to do with Center Stage? That's something approximate to her signature attack I guess??

The effect is the every time a Squigly player taunts, Mike Z gets a dollar
he has since secured his retirement fund
 
The Squigly taunt is self-explanatory. Gives you inspiration points.

Also, save some popcorn for me.
 
What if this is like Capcom saying there's a secret in endless mode in megaman 9 where there was none. MikeZ could just be telling us Squigly's taunt does something for the sole reason to drive us mad looking for something that never was.

...That or it's so miniscule that we will never see it.

Neither of those is true, and you didn't read Kit Ballard's post. :^|

Honestly, I wouldn't put it past ya to do som'in like that though XD (the capcom thing)

I've already tested all the stance attacks and nothing's different, nothing special from grab either.

Dark Souls had a pendant item that was implied to have some special use, and based on the director's hinting, people looked for that special use for a couple of years.

There was no special use.

It had no use at all.

Oh. Yeah, definitely not that. I think that's a dick move, if I were gonna do that I would just say it does nothing.

It also doesn't appear to provide any armor or invincibility while active.
 
I didnt make me all warm inside and it didnt give her a raging demon, I thought it may give fire effects to her moves and it dosnt seem to make fire effects brighter, maybe it has some thing to do with her tag?
 
Doesn't seem to affect BGM. Throws seem the same as well.
 
Make her uncharged DP with startup invincibility (wishful thinking).
 
I doubt it would be anything major
 
No damage gain, meter, health, no altered properties as far as I can tell on anything. I can't keep enemies buried at end of round and I can't make it my win pose.

For a brief moment I thought it sped charge time, but it don't.

Mike mentioned fixing something he broke on Silver Chord.
Can some test that move? I dont have the time to play today.
 
Quick, someone do the taunt and stay idle for, like, 2 hours. Who knows what will happen...
