The Legendary Bounty Hunter! Metroid/Samus Aran Thread

They need to speed up the spider ball. I hated how slow it was in that game.

Kinda funny that the game is still called AM2R, even though the other big Metroid 2 Remakes that started around the same time have pretty much all died now.

Wow, I just realized that the top 4 fangames I had been following for the last several years were SoRR, AM2R, MMU, and MMXC. I wasn't expecting half of those to get released, so props to these devs for really sticking to their projects!

I apologize for many reasons

Speaking of which, how is FEDORAtion Farce supposed to compete with other multiplayer shooter games...without hats!?!?

I for one think Federation Force looks fun, and hope that it will be successful.

Mega64 is the internet's precious being that we don't deserve.

also, Super Best Friends fans would know Liam said this, but he thinks anyone that's trying to cancel Federation Force is pathetic.

I actually agree with Liam.
Like, Federation Force is something to help Metroid fans get hyped for the next main Metroid game, and the way people reacted to it is IMO, disgusting.
even Mega64 is capturing the ridiculous overreaction of the fanbase perfectly.

again, I like the idea of expanding the stuff that's going on in the Metroid Universe besides what Samus is doing. I mean it's not like there's other Nintendo games that focus on minor characters or one shots from other games like.... Tingle or Wario.
not even Luigi got his own game that changed up what the story was about.

that's like Yoshi getting his own game that also expands on the lore in the Mario universe. that'd be just silly.

that's a valid point, Zen. if you don't think it looks good, that's perfectly fine. I don't think everybody has to LOVE it, but saying it doesn't even deserve to exist in the first place and that the devs should be fired is overboard.

fuck man, I do not like Federation Force, I don't like it's concept, I don't like what it represents, and I don't like it's timing. I have determined that I will not buy nor play this game, so it's out of my mind.
Movements to cancel it just seem childish, like if you dislike it as much as I do, don't buy it don't play it and move on. Nintendo already knows that this game is not popular just by looking at their youtube channel.

But I also don't want to be against people who dislike it because that puts me in a position of defending the game, which I will not do because like I said before I don't like it.

man, all they had to do was not make it that lazy chibi crap and I would have been all over the game like butter on popcorn

you can be with people who dislike it and be against people who want it cancelled.
they're not exactly the same thing.
what if you get the game's best ending and all the federation soldiers take off their helmets and reveal that they're all Samus
and then the next game Samus has to fight the federation, and even has to team up with space pirates in order to do so?
what if it actually sets up a good story?

and I'll even admit I didn't like the chibi style at first, but it's grown on me a bit and I wouldn't mind seeing it in other Metroid games.

Are you, in fact, telling me that the real Samus' were they friends we made along the way?

tbh, I think the chibi thing is just so the models look more clear on the 3DS.
because let's face it, 3DS model textures aren't the greatest.

Then samus and chief finally team up and have a baby

wow Kylie Minogue sure has changed over the years

I mean I know Samus is supposed to show up as a Cameo, but... I don't know how that's gonna work. From what Blast Ball games have shown us, the actual body size of the marines are even MORE CHIBI. The suits are just mechs. I mean, I hope it's just for Blast Ball, but the official artwork kinda looks like mechs:

Like, their joints don't look like there's any room at all for a leg to fit in there, you know?

Samus doesn't have a mech suit, are they just gonna retcon it? Super chibi Samus in her Chibi Chozo armor mech suit??? Either way, the chibi Samus we've brought up before may very well be not ever appearing in the game. Unless she's like super short compared to the soldiers, but who'd want that?

Also, can somebody explain who's bad decision it was to start off the trailer with THIS shot?

EUGH, look at the blurred mess the textures on that gun has. That's embarrassingly bad, ESPECIALLY for today's graphics.

i mean
samus does technically have a mech suit
it's just more people sized
what if this game gives samus a big mech though
and the next game samus is just going around bossin' on everyone with a big mech

I'd say it's more a game to keep people aware that Nintendo hasn't completely dropped the series, and to try and put more games on the 3DS to sell since right now it's Nintendo's biggest earner. This could be another Starfox Adventures where someone said "let's make a 3DS FPS" and Nintendo execs said "sure, but slap Metroid on the title since it has guns in it".

I'm more or less indifferent to Federation Troopers since it can't be worse than Other M (punches a pine tree), but at the same time it doesn't look like it will do anything new with the Metroid franchise that hasn't been done through the Prime Series. And by that I mean Metroid Prime Hunters, which was an under-appreciated game that did a lot good.

hopefully people with 2 hands will be able to play it.
unlike Hunters.

Tell me if I'm the only one, But I still had that wrist strap from the original DS run that had the little plastic piece you could put on your thumb to make a stylus. I just used that for Hunters and Moon and never had a problem with first person games on the DS. Still have it too now that I think about it.

Also Hunters was the bomb. I'll rep that game until the end of time.

I didn't play Hunters because I didn't want to play a game I couldn't play without bullshitting it.
or fucking up my hands.

its almost as if it's on a console that doesn't have incredibly high res graphics.

bad graphics for its technology did you mean
