Ace Attorney Court Room - TAKE THAT! Full game released!

The only time Capcom has mentioned a western release was when they said "we have no plans".

That is really disappointing... I wasn't a fan of the way it looked in the trailers but I'd still have liked the opportunity to play it.
I suppose one can just hope they'll release Miles Investigations 2 and The Great Ace Attorney to the west eventually.
Also all I require from Ace Attorney 6 is to see Gumshoe and Franziska.

The translators are sick of trying to make it not take place in Japan, so upon hearing that this one was gonna be based entirely around Meiji-petiod Japanese culture, they just gave up immediately 0:

I mean I think even in the English translation Phoenix Wright has said hes has japanese descent. I really want the great ace attorney to come out to the west. with Miles edgeworth investigations 2 it kinda makes sense since the last one didn't sell well here in the west but Ace Attorney has sold well enough.

Surprised they are still sticking with PW and not branching out with Apollo more like originally intended, but I guess you can't beat the originals. Also clearly they are in just an Asia inspired district of Los Angelous eating their hamburgers.

Personally I'm very happy they didn't focus more on Apollo. He's a fine character, but he's just kind of bland IMO, compared to characters I find much more compelling like Phoenix.
Not to mention I feel like his game messes with Phoenix's character in a way I'm not fond of.

I miss the more Steve Blummy Hobo-Phoenix, even if he was kinda stupid

I just wonder what new sidekick will absorb the plot this time around
and what excuse they'll use to keep Maya out of the plot even if it takes place in fucking spoopy not-china

Speaking of the game totally not taking place in Japan,
we got our first images

Which totally answers Ruin's question then, this is the sidekick to absorb the plot this time around, from the looks of things it's someone at least related to the Fey's.

I absolutely hate the design of that kid, ugh. Why do we need these sidekicks? We have enough strong characters as-is for more to be thrown in.

what if that baby is actually the killer

The real question is what kind of design will fodder attorney Payne be for the first case?

Wow their gonna have a hard time localising this. I personally really hope they keep going with the Japanifornia excuse, it more fun to imagine that these games take place in some Sanfransokyo type place. I feel like it adds to the game's dumb charm.

Also yeah that kid could look alot better, but he could also look alot worse. Child characters are usually difficult to write without being unbearable (tho I think I'm one of the few people to not like Pearl Fey at all), but with an interesting enough personality/backstory he could be good. In fact, it would be interesting if he is part of the Fey clan and shas supernatural abilities, since the Fey clan is a pretty extreme and hostile matriarchy, where your social status is dependant or your blood relation to the leading psychics. I think its mentioned in earlier games as well that these powers only manifest in female clan members so he could potentially bring alot of lore development to the game.

Also that background, and the female looking character you can just see at the bottom of the page has me hoping we'll see Jinxie Tenma again.

Afro Payne pls

Ew do not like that desgin. Please bring back Maya.

I imagine Payne will be the same one from Dual Destinies actually.
The same way that Winston was in the original trilogy, as opposed to Nick burning through his extended family within the span of like 3 years.

that doesn't mean that he couldn't have grown a beard, man

When's Athena's own game D:

Her adventures kinda got swallowed up by the screentime Dual Destinies was giving to Apollo and Pheonix! D:

Either way, this looks good. I don't mind the kid's design, as long as he isn't unbearable personality-wise.

My guess is that Maya dies somewhere along the way.

plz dont hurt me

I feel like that girl is Maya, actually. It would make some sense and she kind of looks like her.

Honestly I think the whole "Mystic Court" setting is a bit silly. I'd much rather just stay in a normal courtroom. It'll be fun finally being able to use the medium visions in the court, though.

Wow they outdid themselves.
It looks beautiful, the new mechanic sounds awesome, the remix of T&T's objection theme is probably now my favorite rendition.

The only disappointment for me:
The...The prosecutor is a kawaii priest-whatever asian girl?

I mean, I'm all for weird prosecutors, Godot was weird, Blackquill wasn't the most normal of people, but COME ON.
We don't need THIS priest girl! We need Maya!

Also, do kind of feel it was a bad move to make this asian-centered right after Great Ace Attorney in Japan. A bit too much of the same setting. Seeing these more asian character-renditions reminded me almost exactly of the characters shown in Great Ace Attorney's trailer. IE: Payne, Judge, stuff like that.

Other than that, this game looks phenominal.

The anime will probably be terrible, but holy crap I'm excited for it. Keep the animations from the cutscenes, follow the story of the games, with perhaps some new content, handle it like the Persona 4 Animation (Not golden) and you have the potential for something incredible.

Couple of notes:
Payne appears in a sash and golden crown?
There's a soldier character that's holding an actual rifle? Probably gonna be censored hard.

It would be awesome if BONES, the studio who did the animated cutscenes for Dual Destinies, was in charge of the anime.
Unfortunately, I'm not getting that impression from the art we've seen so far. BONES produced Space Dandy so they experience with over the top characters and plotlines

Of note, not only is the anime debuting in 2016, the series' 15th anniversary, but 2016 also happens to canonically be the year the first game takes place in

Capcom you sneaky bastards

but 2016 also happens to canonically be the year the first game takes place in
It will never not be hilarious to me that this series is supposed to take place in the future.

Why would Maya (or any other Mediums from the Fey family) be a prosecutor? She most definitely would be a defense attourney.

In any case, it's also interesting that the judge is a male. This country Kurain isn't confirmed to be related to Kurain Village (unless that village was supposed to be a different country originally and changed in Localization), but in Kurain Village they said that it was a Matriarchy since Mediums could only be female and most men weren't around.

To be honest, I don't know how I feel about the series going back to the medium stuff. On the one hand, it was always awesome before and this feels like going in harder which could be cool. But on the other hand, I really felt like AA3 wrapped up Medium stuff perfectly. I'm just gonna guess that this new setting is gonna be some way to bring Phoenix/Maya/Pearl/Iris back in some grand way.

After seeing the Ace Attorney 6 trailer and the announcement for the anime, I caved in and bought the Trilogy on 3DS. Do not regret it.

Now I gotta beat 3, 4, 5 and Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright.

Wait, what about Sherlock Holmes, wasn't he shown as a prosecutor at some point? With a little girl Watson?

That's Dai Gyakuten Saiban.
A spin-off about Phoenix's ancestor who did the same shit.
And yeah, Sherlock Holmes was in that. He might now have been a prosecutor, since there was another prosecutor guy and I don't think I've ever seen him behind a bench, but,

it doesn't matter because that game isn't getting exported.

I don't understand why. Because it's too japanese for us baka gaijin? Like it's an ace attorney game regardless of where it takes place. The logic is fucking stupid.

Actually it's the only Ace Attorney to take place in an eastern, English speaking country 0:

Capcom's just probably afraid it won't sell well, and I imagine the AA games are among the most expensive to translate.

Ah my bad, I thought it took place in Japan and then moved onto, england was it?
But they know the ace attorney games sell well, I can understand for the case of investigations. I honestly just find it hard to believe the game wouldn't sell.

I meant,
Western.
I dunno why I said Eastern, maybe it's east from Japan :0

But no, yeah, the two main characters are from Japan but most of the game takes place in England, thus the presence of Sherlock Holmes.

But I mean, it is a spin-off so I can understand why they might be afraid of it selling poorly.
I dunno.

Cool, thanks for the info on the new game & animation. I've watched playthroughs of all the games on YT & watched the movie.
It's one of my favorite video game series; I just never owned the systems most games were released to.

Will there also be small vision for when I'm dieting and large vision for when I'm feeling naughty

Also apparently new lady is in fact NOT Hamburger-chan, booooooo
But a lot of the game (or at least one case) looks like it's centered the "Kingdom of Kurain" so we still got hope

Edit: More or less the same trailer but with some weird guy at the end

I'M FINE
