In a surprise announcement, Skullgirls is now available on both Mac & Linux! It's included in the latest Humble Bundle, on sale w/all DLC included for just $6! Furthermore, everyone who already owns the game on Steam will be able to access the Mac and Linux versions at no additional cost. The port itself was actually developed by Humble Bundle, with an internal team of programmers picking up where hardworking volunteers like @cybik had left off. Finally, everyone can enjoy Skullgirls![prebreak]click to read more![/prebreak]

NOTE: There's currently a Steam depot issue, which is making the Mac/Linux builds unplayable, but Humble Bundle is trying to fix the problem and it should be (hopefully) resolved fairly soon. It wouldn't be Skullgirls without launch problems, right?
:PUN:

Yet another 2 plattforms added! #Kreygasm

Sweet gonna try out the mac version later.

Can't wait to see how it plays since testing!

I hope everyone will enjoy the game on those new platforms! Happy playing!

Woot! I just got listed in the credits as a beta tester!

Thanks to our hard work you will be pleased to know that typing of the skullgirls works on mac perfectly...

Still no Vita Version? :(

Nope. Still needs more optimization.

Development of the Mac/Linux ports has been taking place independently of the Vita port. I know news of one port feels like it should be indicative of some kind of news for another, but that's not the case here.

Nah, I figured they weren't related. I just for some reason thought that it would come before the Mac/Linux ports since word for vita version was "coming weeks" from July when I don't remember hearing about any news then that the other ports had any close release. I thought that since there was other console patches for lobbies that still had to come out, I thought it must've been related to that or something. Still hoping for it, over here.

Late July they announced the need for testers on the Mac/Linux versions

Think it was during August was when playtesters made sure the Mac/Linux version didn't have any unique bugs. By the end of testing the game felt more/less done so the release didn't look too far off.

I'm also waiting for the Vita version, but at least it's not cancelled like a few other indie projects I seen for the platform.

I hate to be a stick in the mud but will there ever be a way to turn the v-sync off? I don't mind the screen cutting if it means i have better fps.

If I already have Skullgirls on Steam on Mac, is there a way I can just download Skullgirls without paying for it from the bundle? It says above 'Furthermore, everyone who already owns the game on Steam will be able to access the Mac and Linux versions at no additional cost', but how does that work?

That's actually just saying that if you owned Skullgirls on Steam for PC, you automatically got the Mac & Linux versions on Steam as well. I doubt that there's any way to convert ownership through Steam into ownership through Humble. Humble gives Steam keys on top of their own DRM-free downloads, but Steam doesn't really send the love back around.

Oh, right. So if I already have it on PC then I can download it straight to Mac via. Steam itself, is that what you mean? Just go on Steam and chose to download it again?

Yep! That's actually the way it works now for most Steam games with multiple OS versions.

Thank you very much indeed!
