Peacock Assist Thread

Sekhmet specials don't have armor until Sekhmet comes out, which is .. some-time-I-don't-know-how-long. But they suck as reversals.
They are good if you have space and want to keep it / want to move in safely behind your assist, but pretty terrible for gaining space in the first place. Not something I like for Peacock.

H.Osiris Spiral seems like her best assist for Peacock to me. Startup is pretty fast, good lockdown, good hitbox, hitbox on both sides, very high chip damage, etc

The only other assist I'd even seriously consider would me M.Servant, as it covers AA angle, is decently fast, and an overhead for mixup things. Not sure how good it is and whether it's something one wants to use at all (one will still want a defensive assist, and most of those are DPs which kinda cover the same angle.. maybe with H.LnL in the back or something), but it's something I could see being good.

The main problem I'd have with Peacock+Eliza is that both of them have really shit defense, so a lot of your team's worth sits on the third slot; making any team with the both of them very very susceptible to Snaps.

Peacock can't really take advantage of lockdown assists as well as other characters can. Basically Peacock wants either a) a reversal or b) another projectile or projectile-esque move to make her keepaway even more annoying.
Well there's the couch projectile Eliza has, you could probably make use out of that.

I'm not sure if I agree with this.

She isn't as good as say Parasoul at the "Assist has you blocking, I will do high low high low high low" game, but she can still use Lockdown assists nicely in her own way.
You got the usual stupid mixup potential that other characters have in a different form (charge doom, jump forward doublejump forward, j.HP, airdash forward; let go of Doom at any point),
And if the opponent blocks a lockdown assist, you just gained a bunch of time to charge doom / create space / teleport out of the corner all of which are huge + Lockdown assists tend to do a good bunch of chip which is a big part of Peacock's game.

If you like throw as assist, I think Peacock's throw is actually pretty gud. It has range. I enjoy using it with point Filia.

Also, couch and MP Sekhmet are my go to Eliza assist with Peacock on my team.

I'm not saying they're useless, just that they're not as good for her as they are for other characters, and if you can get an assist that does one of those other two things I mentioned I would take that over a lockdown assist. I use a lockdown assist with Peacock but it's more because I don't think Squigly has better options for assists.

I may try this. I'm sort of "whatever" as far as plane assist goes, which is what I'm using now. It's good for Big Band but not as great for Squigly, mostly because if all 3 characters are alive then plane is kind of a poor man's Brass.

IIRC, most assists don't get sliding knockdown but Peacock throw does maybe still??? I forget if that was patched out. Maybe it was. It's easy to convert off of either way.

That seems like it would be a bug? I don't think any assists are supposed to cause sliding knockdowns.

Why not st.hp assist lol
It's a 2 hit lockdown/projectile like pls its gr8. You can also alpha counter into it. Works decently.

Moves like titan and fugazi knuckle assist still cause them so I'd imagine that's still allowed.

Also a lockdown assist for peacock is probably better than you'd think, but squiglies is slow and hard to set up for peacock because she's never in your face. Try Drill or Seks Stab assist and see how they work out

The lockdown part of s.HP is done better by Drag n Bite, so all I usually get out of it is the projectile part. Plane is a better projectile. I agree it's a good assist though.

Sek Stab is QCB+MK? I can try that.

St.hp comes out faster than dnb does. It also speeds up the mix ups you can go for, meaning you can use it to ride momentum. DNB is more of a keep myself safe when I commit to something like dp or j.hk or keep them in blockstun long enough to collect my feeeeeelings

Yeah sHP is a great alpha counter but DnB is much better for Peacock IMO. Also, Titan Knuckle and Fugazi Knuckle only cause sliding knockdown to the opponent's assists, not the opponent (when used as an assist, anyways.) I found that out the other day. :( I have memories of Peacock throw still working though? Maybe they're wrong memories.

I like Sek MP (stab stab stab/butcher's blade) it may have 'slow' start up, but it's insanely good once it's out and Peacock can afford the meter cost of Sekhmet assists, it's fun to teleport mix up with and super easy to convert off of. Carpenter's Axe is also great but it's kinda weird to use for Peacock imo. And the one slash one, uh.. yeah. Dunno if it has any uses at all.

But yeah, Sek MP actually moves like DnB does (not exactly like it, but they MOVE and that's what's important.) HTwirl does NOT move forward. It's an 'in place' lockdown. Which is cool! But Peacock, IMO, works better with a 'moving lockdown.' DnB, Hornet Bomber, etc. For my Parasoul I also prefer the same, though sHP works good regardless for my Para.

EDIT: Peacock throw was patched as all sliding knockdown stuff was, it seems like utter trash now with this in mind. Sorry @mcpeanuts

Hey guys ! Just reviving this thread a little.

What are your thoughts about H Beam assist for Peacock ?
I never saw any Peacock with Robot tbh, but I think they would synergies pretty well with an anchor who provides a gtfo assist

I've tried it. H Beam is incredibly good for Peacock. The thing I didn't like about the team though is you're playing both Peacock and Robo, two of the characters with the weakest defense. Even with a DP assist if you get hit with that team it's tough to recover.

There is still the option (dont laugh please if what I am going to say is really stupid) : mash Lenny > DHC Magnet (which is safe...or I suppose ?)

Lenny isn't frame one invulnerable, and then Magnet is not invulnerable at all and has a lot of recovery.

If someone does that you can throw your hand or a hacky sack in the general direction of the attack buttons and you'll get a counter hit starter :P

Haha I see, good to know ! :p

And I guess Peacock/X/Robo is not the solution since Robo anchor is pretty weak ?

Pretty much, although I guess your strategy could be for Peacock and X to do all the work, and if it ever actually comes down to anchor Robo you shrug your shoulders.
