What am I even doing anymore?(Kyu's Diary)

in my experience, you should be able to fly, j.mk, and go into a ground chain.

Feeling a little burnt out lately. Getting frustrated in the other games I've played is affecting me in this game.

I found out I don't actually like Double all that much. Cilia slide is fun to take a risk/cover ground and punish with and H luger is great AA, but besides that I'm not really a fan of her vortex game. I really like how Big Band can cover his assist so things with long startup can get through like H pinion and H beam. I've still been playing with Cerebella, but I've also been taking a look at Parasoul again cuz L/H shot.

Really need to play Painwheel more.

L bomber-reversal assist, is better to downback and call with, can mess with approaches and is easily confirmed

M bomber- lockdown, close to midrange neutral assist, very good for setups

H bomber- messes with air approaches, on certain teams is a mid to long range combo starter, good damage and carry

@Kyugetsuki

What don't you like about Double's vortex?
It's the same way I feel about Fukua's vortex. I don't like using the same powerful setup. It's weird feeling for me. I have a awful dislike for things that I find are really powerful. Also I don't like how Double moves. ~squish squish~ kidding.

L bomber is my favorite because it's a tiny bit lock down dp. But also I want to be able to use a charged armor move and call assist and fly if I need to while being covered. I guess L BE kind of does that.

I really want to also be using my armored moves more especially against those people that are patient like me so instead of trading or getting CH, I armor through it ideally.

So you don't like using anything that's good?

Almost every character has good vortex though...

This is why I call it an awful dislike. It's really a personal thing.

So if you don't want to pick Double because her vortex is too good, you're looking to purposely play a character with not so good vortex?

I guess I'd recommend Robo-Fortune.

peacock vortex???
that takes a while to really master, tbh

That sounds like a good idea. I'll still keep playing Double for now and switch between them to see how it feels.

Looking for more people to play with. I really dislike quick match and when I do want to play I need to play at least 30 matches in row. Even if I get stomped 30 matches in a row I enjoy struggling :)

If you are still considering M bomber:One trick I used to do as Painwheel at start was call M bomber then immediately H buer so I pick up a combo if I get them.

I'm liking this Robo/PW/BB. H Pinion is extremely weird and I like it. Discovered that you can Laser>Magnet>DHC Painwheel level 3 which is quite amazing since other Cerebella's lvl 3 isn't fast enough but PW's is. Also I really like BB with Beam assist. So when this team DHCs into PW/BB/Robo its nice.

Played in Skullgirls get gr8 first time. Was fun. It was a nice 3 games. I went 1-2 against JP.
I get tick thrown a lot and thrown a lot in general.

Im a flying fk. Painwheel is fun to play. Still feels like I need to work on everything. So many times I have called L BE and then I dash up and get jabbed out. Either I'm too slow or I really shouldn't dash up so often after.

Big Band is weird to play against patient players. Feel so awkward staring at each other until someone does something except jump at full screen.

Been sticking with Double in my Db/PW/BB team and its been ok. All I can say. Actually L bomber isn't my favorite. I think H bomber or M bomber is better. I have never converted off of M bomber yet unless I used it in the corner so as a reset with PW. Soo...just going to keep experimenting with the both of them. I should try using catheads and monster sometimes. I've never used them nor do I really have a game plan with them.

Still very much enjoy my Squigly/Beowulf/Big Band team.

I figured I should update soon. So like I've been playing Fukua a lot lately. My zoning is utterly terribly and so are my resets but its kind of fun. Also have been working on my Squigly resets. I really don't go into resets early enough. Figured out that Cerebella isn't actually my thing and would much prefer PW/Squig/BB instead. Center stage is a fun assist for PW.

Earlier I was trying out how to beat gregor samson reversal during PW's charge normals. Turns out I have to negative edge the super. Kind of difficult.

Here's a less half hearted post:

Yesterday I played in Skullbats and lost all my matches. 2-3 against Keyz, 0-3 against Dagwood, 0-3 Triv, 2-3 Trashlake. Out of all the matches, my matches furthest from winning were probably against Triviality. I played a bunch of random teams. My cerebella is probably the weakest out of all characters I play. My Painwheel team(PW/Cere/BB) is really weak and I really need to work on my Painwheel and Cerebella. I played my PW team first and if it didn't work out first match i usually switched to my Beowulf team. I would much prefer to not switch and just stick to my PW team, but I'm really not confident in the team.

On my PW I'm currently practicing my regular BnB still because is still drop it time to time. Also practicing certain sequences like cr.mk->fc->j.lp and the regular cr.lk>cr.mk>cr.hp>qcf.lk>fc and cr.lk>cr.mk>cr.hp>fc. Sometimes I put in cr.lk after fc>j.lk or j.lp to avoid dropping but even then I still drop it...

For my Cerebella...I actually find it quite hard to get in. Any tips?

Hit them with anything and then call your assist and you score yourself more than 50/50 once they leave blockstun.

I go for MGR every time just to illustrate that option.
The cLK counterpart which beats the jump is also equally as strong.

If they pushblock you out they get held in place for the assist to hit, then you just wait for blockstun to end while you dash back in and you can do:

cLK (Low)
MGR (Command Grab)
Instant jHP (High)
Instant j2MP (High)
Kancho (Cross Up)

+ Even more.
If you can't hit someone from these lockdown situations then you have to improve your offensive reads.

Definitely need to work on that and calling assists to do that job.

Another good way to get in is to Kara throw with c.mp. It's very deceptive how far that actually pushes you forward. Normally you can grab at about 1/4 screen away but with Kara c.mp you can do it at about 1/3 screen away so I would look into that as well

This is one of those things I've been practicing for awhile. It's something I have fun doing on Cerebella. I've been more unsuccessful with it than successful mostly because it was a poor read. Sometimes I end up just straight up hitting them with c.mp.

Is there an easier/faster way to do pummel horse? Run stop is much easier if I hold lp and do lk run.

Charge back, Hold lp+lk, fwd+hk = pummel horse
I do hk+lp for run stop.

That's not a kara throw though, that's just whiff cancelling the cmp.

Well my mechanical keyboard broke somehow...I'm back to using my 1989 keyboard...and also I'd very much not like to blame my keyboard for misinputs but dang. I really need to consider getting a hit box maybe at the end of the year.

In the meantime, I've implemented run stops into my resets and used them in match but they need a lot more work. Landing repeated j.mp w/ Painwheel is awesome... like landing repeated j.hp w/ Beowulf especially when blocked. Been trying to fast fall j.mp but haven't been that effective. Also baiting assist and managing flight charges has been very interesting and needs a lot more practice.

Good news. My friend took my keyboard and somehow it works for him. So it seems like theres a problem at my end somewhere that I've got to figure out.

In the meantime I want to talk about a few things I've been doing besides failing to do things I input. When I first tried the reset that is like cr.mp, cr.hp, M shadow. I never got the reset to be successful even once(mostly). I knew I was doing something wrong and the only time I got it to work was run forward, jump back, j.hk. Something I've figured out recently is that, after M shadow, I can wait a tiny bit then run forward. It makes the crossunder feel more unpredictable.

Been feeling like experimenting with Peacock and Painwheel lately. Don't know why, but counter hit item drop is very satisfying. Looked up a bunch of @Chuck N. Plazma tech. Tried Rawr~ combo and it was way too hard. Tried out other stuff and it was interesting. Did I ever mention Alpha Counter H Pinion is so cool?

If you haven't seen it, Sage has a really good instructional video on this reset:

It's like 2000 damage on CH or something, I can break 10k 1 bar if I start a combo with it. CH item is one of my favorite things to hit people with

I'm going to be away for a while longer as a new league started recently in PoE and my schoolwork is getting kind of busy. If anyone wants to bop me or be bopped next week feel free to msg me.

Besides that, I'm sticking with my squig Beo BB team and playing peacock, Painwheel, Cerebella on and off.

Played a bunch of matches with @Sunset Radiance yesterday and they were great. Really enjoyed the PW vs MF matchup.

At one point I was wondering if it's possible to hit the DP with PW's disjointed hit box without being hit by the dp. I missed a hell a lot of air grab conversions and I practiced a little zoning with nails and Beowulf's DP assist. I was playing PW/Beo/Cere cuz I just felt like playing those characters. Right now I don't really know how to vary between mp nail and hp nail and when to release early. Fight me more pls. Also really want to face more doubles with PW.

TIL canceling grab into Buer is fast fall and makes it so that it doesnt start counting towards IPS on your first ground string and you can still avoid OTG. Works on everybody :O just harder on heavier ppl.

Hello its been one month and two days. I really love Painwheel now. I tried out Double/Painwheel/Beowulf for a little while and Double and Beowulf together was fun, but Painwheel totally didn't feel like she fit. It was fun using H Pinion to punish assist calls though at full screen. It pulls the assist to Double and you can just j.hk the assist to death. I got over that nasty feeling of disgust of playing strong vortex characters. So I played around with Parasoul and Eliza a little and carpenter's is such a fun assist, but doesn't really feel like it does anything for Painwheel. Currently trying out Painwheel, Cerebella, Parasoul. I'm trying to decide if I really want a DP assist for Painwheel. I'm definitely not using it very well.

Ayyyyy it's been awhile. I've been pretty busy lately but figured I'd spend some time on transit to make a post.

Okay so not a whole lot has changed. I've just been getting rustic. It's been somewhat frustrating to have my inputs not come out the way I wanted to. Most of the time it's probably a late reaction. I think out of all the characters I'd like to stick to it would be PW, Squig, Beo and BB. So mostly I would just play PW, Beo, BB. A lot of inputs have gotten horrible since switching back to my old keyboard. Dropping combos left and right. If a hitboxes actually go on sale during black friday this year again like last year, I will probably like to pick one up.

Oh and the other team I like to try out more is PW Squig BB with L BE and Center Stage.
