Hi!

The last London Skullgirls event in October was a lot of fun. It was great to see 10 people playing SG at locals; the scene here seems to be growing!

After that, I talked to Frost, one of the organisers of the LGS ""anime game"" monthlies in London, and we started including Skullgirls in their lineup starting from December 2015. It's a lot of fun so turn up, play casuals, chat with other players, and level up!

Date and Time:
Saturday 4th March (first Saturday of each month), 2pm-9pm

Venue Fee:
£5, pay at the door

Games:
Skullgirls 2nd Encore (PS3 for now, because we're bringing our own consoles and that's what we have)
Arcana Heart 3 Love Max!!!!!
Guilty Gear Xrd
Blazblue Chrono Phantasma Extend
Under Night In-birth Exe Late (UNIEL)
(People can bring other games too. Last time there was a busy Guilty Gear AC+R setup, as well as one or two of those recent anime crossover 2D fighters that I can't remember the names of)

Location and Travel:
High Cross Church (United Reformed)
Tottenham High Road
London
N15 4BN

It's a 5 minute walk from Seven Sisters tube station. Just walk up the high street for 5 minutes and it's on your right.

The door to the hall where we play is around the side of the church, through the car park (street view image):

Website (it's placeholder for now but it has all the info you need):

I think that's everything. See you guys there!

--------

On another note, the LGS organisers (NthGen Interactive) also ran a big annual tournament last November called Revolution 2015. I didn't manage to sort things out in time to get Skullgirls there, but the event had a huge amount of entrants from all over Europe (and Canada/Japan) and the Twitch VODs made it look fun too:

It looks like this November's Revo is likely to be much bigger and better, so there should finally be a UK/EU Skullgirls major to look forward to!

That's great you could settle something with that Frost dude.
Will probably turn out better than at the HOG (plus, having a spot at Revolution next year would be sweet).

The 5th of december is not possible for me, though. Enjoy yourselves!

Looks fun to me!

I'll try making the time for it. Can't promise tho :c

This looks great. You should definitely turn up if you're serious about getting good at the game since Chris, Woofly and Jodie are turning up - OG UK players from 2013. Smile has levelled up a lot too. It's worth noting that 3 people turned up the the last event without signing up (HDJammerz, Thrasher08, Carlo), so you can expect some of those guys to turn up. Jammerz had a really solid Eliza, for the record. I've quit the game for now because of university, might come back next year around this time, UK SG major hype.

Sorry, 90% chance that I won't be able to make it because of work

Nooooo, that sucks. Hopefully some of the other HoG players can make it!

This is happening this weekend, and is the last time I'll be playing offline Skullgirls before I head off to the US for NEC next Thursday. Turn up and help me practice things! Gonna tag a few people who turned up the last London SG local in case they didn't see this thread: @Pombear @Thrasher08 @TiredOcean @Twisted-Humour @me-tan

I'll see if I can but most likely I'm not because, as you know, I have to get driven and my nan isn't well so it's probably best if me and my grandad stay with her. Maybe next time!

...and I'm back home. We had 7 Skullgirls players in the end, which isn't bad at all to say that so many people from the previous London SG tournament were busy this weekend. GGs to woofly, grodie, mace, jammerz, vecayse and the guy whose name I didn't catch. The next monthly is either going to be on the 2nd or 9th of January, so I'll update the thread once I know!

It looks like a bunch of sets from December's monthlies are up: https://www.youtube.com/user/HDJammerz/videos

I just talked to Frost about January, and unfortunately there's a good chance that the venue will still be closed for xmas at the start of the month. If this is the case, the next monthly will probably be on Saturday 6th February. I'll update this thread once I know for certain what's going on. It'll be fun to play with other UK players again after NEC!

Frost just confirmed that the next LGS will be on Saturday 6th February. See you there!

Gonna try and make it to the next one. Mr Peck, since I'll be passing though your way, need a lift again?

This is coming up in 2 weeks! If you know whether or not you'll be able to make it, or even if you're still a 'maybe', using the Yes/Maybe/No RSVP thing at the top of the thread really helps the LGS organisers figure out how many monitors and setups they need to bring to the venue for SG.

Gonna be a jerk and tag loads of people again. Sorry! @Woofly @C4IQ MOP @Grodie @me-tan @Pombear @Smile @Cailo @Thrasher08 @TiredOcean @Twisted-Humour

I can definitely make it this week (unless something unexpected happens).

I'll see you there!

I haven't been on Skullheart for around 3 months! So luckily I caught this in time. I'll see if I can attend because I may or may not spend Saturday on Cosplay because my convention is on the 20-21st so I want the comfort of completion!
Like I said. We'll see.

Hi! February's monthlies were fun, and there are a few sets of Jammerz playing against Smile and Mace (C4IQ) on his Youtube channel:
https://www.youtube.com/user/HDJammerz/videos

Next month's LGS monthlies are being replaced by Angel's Duel 2016, which is an Examu-themed tournament run by the same people. We'll still be running Skullgirls in their Bring Your Own Console section as usual, but the main differences between this and the usual LGS monthlies are that the venue is bigger, the hours are longer and Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator will be playable at the event!

Go here for more info and to RSVP:

Sorry, not gonna make that, I'm playing a DJ gig Friday/Saturday and will be in no shape to game.

Is it worth traveling from Amsterdam to London for this? Like, how long does the event actually take? :o

Possibly not, unless you're already going to London for another reason? It lasts for 7 hours and usually has 4-7 Skullgirls players, so most people usually don't travel for more than an hour or two to get there.

Revo 2016, on the other hand, should be worth attending. It's 7 months away but it's a big 3-day London event with a streamed Skullgirls top 8 and lots of players travelling from outside the UK.

Oh, alright! Cool!
I'll check up on Revo then, someone else mentioned it to me before but I've forgotten about it.

Hope you guys are going to have fun!

LGS is this Saturday. Please use the RSVP thing to say if you can come or not, and I'll see you there! Combo Breaker is next month so I'm gonna be training as hard as I can c:

Next month's LGS is on the 14th of May, three weeks from now:

I hear someone on the Indivisible team will be making a guest appearance at the event (disclaimer: it's just me), so you should RSVP at the top of the thread and hang out with them! It's less than two weeks before Combo Breaker and I'll be trying to get as many matches in as possible, so come beat me up and help me improve.

No can do I'm afraid. In the middle of exam season right now and can't take a day off as much as I wish I could. Sorry.

Sorry, really hectic month this month. I'm DJing again on Friday, and possibly broadcasting Sunday on top of that :/

No problem. Me, C4IQ MOP (Mace) and Jammerz are going to be there tomorrow, so if anyone else is looking at the thread and deciding whether or not to go, don't assume there will only be one other person!

I was so busy with Combo Breaker I forgot to update the thread. The next LGS is tomorrow, and I'll be there!

edit: no I won't! Mace and Jammerz can't make it this weekend so I'm sitting out too.

Well... Shit I just saw this.

The next LGS is on Saturday July 2nd, and Frost (Revo/LGS organiser) and Angel (UK Pokken champion) are both trying to get back into Skullgirls in time for Revo. So hopefully a bunch of people can turn up and help Frost get back to speed!
