Squigly Tech Thread: Small/Big Tips & Strategy YOU Notice? (NEW THREAD)

I remember there was something related instant jlp in a patch a loooong time ago... is possible to hit everyone crouching or it's a bug?
anyways seems like chord is able to extend the range of jlp after a divekick, i don't really know.

Oh yeah, Forgot this thread was a thing =)
A few Vids I made on the subject:

Messing Around With The OTG's

Grab Tutorial

And Some Charge Safe Combos!

If this helps even one person,
I'd count this as a victory n_n

That's a fuzzy, you should be able to do that off of most things where your opponent is on the ground in hitstun/blockstun and you are suitably plus. I would guess that if it doesn't work on anyone, then it would be Painwheel and Peacock cus they're short.

Was messing with some meaty setups last night and found something neat vs Beowulf. If you do a meaty c.mp and they mash out Arm, you can beat it cleanly. Look during the super flash. If the active frames of c.mp have started, you'll low profile arm and the button is active longer than Arm's invulnerable frames. The safer option is to just counter super with Daisy Pusher, but it's a neat way to get a medium counterhit. You can do this against M. Bang! too, but it's harder to see since you don't have the super flash to ensure you've got the timing of the meaty right.

In this video you are hitting the dummy out of its crouch transition animation
If it was actually holding down-back, it would immediately go into crouching pre-block and not get hit

You can do instant double jumps to hit anyone(?) with instant j.lp though if you're willing to practice that input

You can also just use c.lk and cancel into something if you see the super flash, bully beowulf all day

thing is, most everyone knows that c.lk is a good low profile move, meaty c.mp is less obvious as a low profile. Sure, lk is safer, but sometimes you just gotta go crazy

I try that set up tonight on stream. This sound really dope

Actually this is still possible. When a character is about to land you can j.lp medium dive for an instant overhead reset (Shorter characters require a straight vertical jump, don't jump forwards and j.lp. In fact, I'm in a habit of jumping backwards for the overhead. This seems to work better.). I tend to do this after a dive cross under. Squigly's instant overhead is godlike.
When j.lp is blocked you can light dive and throw or skip the dive and j.mk for a cross over. If the cross over is blocked as well, you can also light dive into a grab. If everything is predicted, I use j.mp to fake the cross over as a last resort. Of course, anyone can spam a reversal. Rip Squigles.

That's also really low damage for using 3 charges and an assist.

You and Tonney have given Squigly enough damage to reasonably go solo with. I am forever in your debt. In regards to new players, I wouldn't use that combo.

I think it can be a good meter builder combo with all those Drag'n'bites, the few things I'd suggest to change are using hspiral as assist (since sek eats some meter) and end it with chord> arpeggio to squeeze an extra more.

Some interesting crossunder ideas. Recovery after c.lp seems a little slow so I used a reversal. It's possible to call H.Brass assist during the c.lp. Brass knocks the opponent high enough to then low profile the enemy's hitbox, landing him right back into the corner (If you're really good it won't use OTG). I'd try to upload a video of this but there's a lot of rapid inputs and timing involved. (Of course, you could just jump over your opponent, but I'm too fancy for that.)

DP is not usually considered a mixup tool I think

I'd advise against it

you could cancel into sbo early if they block but then the spacing might be off and it misses and then you die.

Was messing around with calling assists before throws and found some neat stuff. You can apparently use bigband as a sort of wall to prevent the opponent from going too far.

Never thought I'd find myself posting any tech here, but hey, here I am.

Rejoice solo Squigly players, you can do Lvl 3 vs teams and they can't make your lvl 3 disappear by snapping you (unless they are Beowulf with his snap grab finisher, which is inconsistent).
