Dangan Ronpa

Oh cool there's a Danganronpa thread.

In terms of the anime, not a huge fan. I think Future was average at best, Despair was leaning more towards the side of bad than good, and I do like the ending overall

At the same time though, Hope did a really good job of pretty much devaluing a lot of Danganronpa 2 for me. That I disliked. And apparently I missed the bottle chillin right next to Kyoko's body so I missed out about the possibility that she was alive until I saw it lol.
 
I disagree with everybody. I actually liked the anime, in spite of some of the more trollier moments. And that especially includes the ending.

I don't actually mind the "Kirigiri is still alive" reveal at all. I felt there were was way too obvious a hint - maybe more - that she was still alive - or at least not actually completely dead - for it to be an asspull. Also, I don't really feel like this ruins Naegi's character development as much as the rest of you. Naegi already learned what it felt like to lose a loved one, which was the point of her "dying" the way she did; bringing her back to life doesn't magically make him forget that lesson.

The only thing that kind of disappointed me was the motive for the Killing Game. But, at the same time, Junko's motive for starting the Killing Game for Danganronpa 1 was basically, and I apologize for this meme, "lol Despair." So, eh. :/

Overall, the anime surpassed my expectations of what it would be. I found myself originally hating characters, then coming to like them or at the least feel lukewarm towards them, as well as having characters that I liked eventually turning into characters that I disliked, very much like the cast of the first game and second game. Did the plot have its flaws? Yes, yes it did. Do I feel like the flaws outweigh everything that I like I about it? No, no I do not. And for me, that's all that really matters.
 
Nah, Junko's Goal was to not be Bored. Being able to predict everything as an Ultimate Analyst made her bored as she could ot be surprised. Only strong examples of Hope or Despair (and later Naegi's version of Luck) could not be predicted. And as she found it easier to put someone into Despair that became her goal.

Only at her end did she finally become bored with Despair.

As for The End Of Hope's Peak Academy
I did like the Anime, I'm just saying the timing was off for the reveal of Kirigiri Lives! Old Man's Motive of trying Junko's Stunt, but with Hope Brainwashing instead of Despair fits as he was the last of the old Manipulators at Hope's Peak that led to this situation in the first place. He just did not expect it to be countered as it was, Naegi's Ultimate Luck & Hope once again countering Manipulators.

On V3, I get the Feeling the Naegi lookalike Robot Kibo (Hope? Really? That's just asking for it) who is the Ultimate Robot is going to end up being a Murder Victim, and that the Ultimate Cosplayer will Either be a Murderer (REALLY getting in Character) or an accessory to a Murder.

Though I don't necessarily agree and don't actually have as much of an issue with the timing, if you felt the reveal could have been better timed, that's a fair criticism. I don't agree with it, but that's a valid complaint.

As for Tengan... I guess that works when you explain it like that, but it still seems really... risky of a plan. Unless he was somehow an Ultimate/Super High School Level Good Luck like Naegi and Komaeda after him, too, at some point, and just counted on his Luck like Komaeda always did. Which would then be ironic, because a person whose talent is luck was thwarted by someone else's luck. Then again, we sort of had that happen before in DR 1 with Chapter 3's murder, if you really think about it, so it wouldn't be entirely weird for the series to do that.

I was about to say something as a retort about how difficult it would be to kill a robot, an Ultimate Robot no less... but then I remember Super Danganronpa 2. And then the Robot getting murdered seemed a lot more plausible. In addition to that, I'd be damn surprised if somehow the Cosplayer didn't wind up involved in a murder attempt, considering how her talent opens so many possibilities for a murder. (Her talent is literally the ability to make herself look like someone else and look really convincing. She probably makes her own costumes, too! It's the Imposter Part 2!)

Of course, it's still way too early to speculate. The game's not even close to out yet.
 
Tengan's Plan just involved getting enough of them together and pulling off his Killing Game Masterstoke. Despair Chisa knew he would use them if given them, she just did not know how.

Also Remember what I and Junko said about Naegi's Luck: It's Unpredictable in how it benefits Naegi. How did it get Naegi into Hope's Peak Academy as Ultimate Luck? It stuck him in a series of very Dangerous Situations that led to whoever had won the raffle first getting their Acceptance Letter destroyed and his name getting pulled as the replacement. How did it save him from Enoshima Junko's Murder Attempt in the final Despair Side Episode? Naegi slipped on a cleaning cloth at just the right moment. Heck even his Suicide being stopped by Juzo was his Luck kicking in after he saw the Suicide Short film.

Junko could not break it down and analyze it and I am betting as Kamakura Izuru that Haijime could not break it down either. Therefore Tenzan's plan failed the moment that Naegi was trapped in his Killing Game as Naegi's unpredictable Luck ensured he survived and ended the plan.
 
V3 wise, all I wish for is for an odd-looking character to not die for once. Let the tennis player live dammit. Also rooting for Entomologist, Supreme Ruler, Folklore specialist, and keebo( cuz lol hope beep boop)

That'd actually be cool but kinda hard to script/make work with gameplay.
 
Maybe like in every case,you get the chance to kill someone,and then you have to try your damndest to not get voted on,and if you win,game over.
Obviously,I mean it like,if you kill someone in the first chapter,games over,but if you make it past chapter 1 you can kill someone in chapter 2 and so on.
It's too much work for nothing,but I kinda like it.
 
Kaede is probably the antagonist so I wouldnt be surprised
 
I hope the nursery school teacher goes early so all of the early theories are bum.

I feel like ultimate dictator has some special skills up his sleeve and will make things exciting.

Would be cool to see ??? SHSL revealed as SHSL ventriloquist and convinces everyone to murder unknowingly, causing them to get chopped off while he watches in the background. He could try and cause a suicide but might be sniffed out for that.
 
Or they could make it that the first character you play as is the killer and bait Mc. Then after that you play as the real Mc. Think case 5 from the first danganronpa. It'd be a pretty kool twist if they killed off the pianist first and you played as the nursery school teacher throughout the rest of the game :v

All four of the character trailers are finally out!



The game's opening has been revealed, too.



A demo for the game dropped in Japan on December 20th, so play-throughs and gameplay videos have been popping up all over.

Nah from the looks of it it'll be pretty damn solid. Pretty sad that Tsumugi's Junko 3.0 though.
 
well i looked up the kill list and literally only one character I care about survived and the game seems to follow the formula of the first two games with no real split from them :/

after reviewing the spoilers i have created an objective list of Da Boiz from best to worst
  1. Gonta - Best Boy, perfect gentleman, didn't deserve it
  2. Ryoma - An excellent boy, selfless and pure, didn't deserve it
  3. Kibo - A Real Boy, a good boy no matter what
  4. Kaito - Good Bro, surprisingly not an unlikeable comic relief pizza shit like Hagakure or Souda
  5. Rantarou - Heroic Boy who has my respect
  6. Shuuichi - Boring Boy, should not have been the protagonist
  7. Sisterfucker (Korekiyo) - a vile and rancid boy, deserved worse. waste of a good design
  8. Fucking Asshole Piece of Shit Worthless Piece of Garbage (Kokichi) - should have his title changed to Ultimate Worst Boy, deserved much worse for his disgusting crimes
