Indivisible: Lab Zero's Action-RPG! (General Discussion)

Sounds like a good idea but it says that nowhere in the update.

Under "Upgrading".

Initially, Ajna will only be able to upgrade each Incarnation’s Action to Level 2. But by recruiting more upgrade Incarnations over the course of the game, she’ll be able to take their Action and Defense upgrades all the way to Level 4.

Man I can't fucking see under all this sand.

Well, since these quests are optional and you literally required to have character in question maxed up, I think they can make these quests pretty hard assuming player is level'd up and ready for the challenge.
I think he was more concerned about, y'know, side-story being locked behind so much gameplay...

That was my biggest concern, too. I don't mind grinding for mechanical buffs. But I want to do every loyalty mission.

Peter has said there is new add-on merch coming. I can't tell if he's joking but he flat out said "Lanshi plush" on Neogaf.

Forgot to mention this a while back, but there was an animation stream I haven't seen mentioned here. Was reminded when someone sent me this gif.

Well, all loyalty quests are tied to 100%-ing the game. You'll have to also 100% ringsels to do it, it looks like. Alternatively you can start new game and just use more obvious ringsels to max out chars you left behind the first time.

I am getting more hype as we close in on the full VA goal.

I just noticed his feet are wrenches.

I absolutely love everything stated about how her moves work, she's probably going to be in my party a lot.

She'll definitely be in my main team if George doesn't make it in, but if I use George, she'll be in my second team.

She has Ky's Stun Dipper, but it launches!

I can't wait to see that Iddhi Attack colored.

I am consistently mystified by these comments. Every character is the result of hours and hours of hard work, which you have paid for by buying the game. Unlike SG, in a comparatively simpler, single-player game like this I see little reason to not use everyone, based on the situation/boss at hand.

It's like when people "main" two/three characters in Overwatch. You are paying 30$ for 23 people to have fun with, and you only use 2, that seems like a waste of money. The idea of "maining" just doesn't work well outside of Fighting games to me.

But that's just me, I know, different strokes for different folks.

And I am consistently mystified by these comments. You're looking at this from a purely mechanical standpoint from a studio that makes diverse characters, not just "sets of numbers," and in a single-player game! Hell, I'd probably play Double if I saw Skullgirls the way you're talking, but I don't really like shapeshifters and her personality doesn't do anything besides engineer destruction, that's literally her every thought.

I also don't think Mike is just going to handwave all the party members to the same numerical strength, so switching for some bit of optimization is trading in some time spent on the boss for some quick grinding. If you're an explorer type you might have the ringsels or such you need already, but it's far from necessary.

i don't care what none of yall say, Toko is the only character for me- I would do a single Toko run if I could- Toko will help me conquer this world.
I am planning on running Toko and Sangmu a lot, I can't wait to see Sangmu's animations.

So I guess Qadira completely dropped using the sword?

Well it's probably for the better, I don't believe we have any other "shield only" incarnation.

Yeah. Looks like Lab0 went full Captain America on her. It's funny because Kai was saying she's one of the few characters who were equipped realistic enough to participate in actual battle and then she dropped her scimitar. Oh well. I guess we were operating on anime logic anyways.

That shield is a solid hunk of wood and metal, besides blocking bladed weapons I'm pretty sure it would easily break bones if you were hit with that.
I think she's plenty equipped for actual battle even with just that shield

Remember that low-res text on her model sheet with height comparison to Ajna? It says the sword design is for use in a special case (and words it so that "special case" has not been determined yet).

Her sword is very special to her since its her brothers right? so she may be saving it for her level 3 idhi attack.

Yeah, I was wondering if it was a super. I'm pretty sure multiple supers is supposed to be a possibility.

Well that's exactly what the notes for it say. >_>

Tank pretty much rephrased it, except it says "finding" not "keeping/saving."

Qadira definitely looks cool, and I'm glad that she shows off another variation of how attack inputs can work in the game.

So I'm guessing her Defense Boost will kind of work like Q's Taunt? If so, I wonder if the effects will last the whole fight, or if you'll have to maintain them. I also wonder if there'll be any situations where you'll want to use her Down+Attack slide, but not the follow up launcher. She must knock the enemies pretty dang high.

I remember the animation notes from the stream also mentioned that the Counter Attack property activates on block, and only lasts until she attacks again, so that sounds like a neat layer of strategy. That means against some enemies that focus on attacking single characters, you might not get much from using it, but if you're fighting something like an ogre that always hits the whole team, you could get a lot of extra damage from it.

Anyway, really looking forward to more of these character breakdowns!

If it lasts the whole fight, that'll be really useful for boss battles, I bet.

Will the secondary hits use up an action bar or is it just an extra hit for the same action bar?

Since it says "defense boosts allows her to counter attack for a short period of time" I'm going to say it's temporary.

The phrasing on this is kind of weird since it sounds like you press the button again for the function while it's the same attack, I think it's saying if you do a combo with the same input it changes the attack (as in it uses the second bar but you are still pressing the same input and you get the follow up move) but the way it's written I am unsure. But if it's "press and press again on the same bar" then it's kind of strange because then it seems like you'd never just press her button (unless for certain combo routes with other characters?), you'd always double tap or hold.

I'm pretty sure the follow up attack will use the same Action. Mike showed on stream that Ajna's kusarigama Neutral-Attack could already work like that.
it seems like you'd never just press her button (unless for certain combo routes with other characters?), you'd always double tap or hold.
Yeah, that's what I was wondering in regards to her slide. For Up+Attack you'd want to avoid the follow up if you wanted to keep the enemy in the air, and Neutral has the hold follow-up, but slide into launcher seems like it would always be useful to start the juggle on a defending enemy.

I guess it might just boil down to the damage and recovery values. If 1-Hit Attacks recover much faster than the 2-Hit Attacks/Defense Boost, and still do decent damage on their own, then that's a big deal. For reference, that would be like the difference between Ajna's Up+Attack and Down+Attack with the axe in the Prototype.

I'm planning to upgrade to the 60$ tier, and because this thread sure has a lot of pages and I'm very special, I wanted to ask again how to upgrade and shipping costs.

@Ravidrath because I'm annoying. Does the tier include both a steam key for the beta, the full game and a physical version for any other platform? Like say physical PS4 and digital steam? I already took the backer survey btw.

If I remember correctly, you will get 2 games, one digital and one retail and you can mix up the platforms as much as you like.

If you chose a Steam code then getting a beta will be no problem, but if you choose consoles only then it might complicate things and L0 didn't have an answer the last time I saw this question. Which was a month or 2 ago.

I'm sure they will try their hardest for everyone to get a beta.

  • I think you still upgrade via the Indiegogo page. Click on the perk you want and "Get This Perk" should cover it.
  • Alternatively, I think you can go back to your BackerKit page and use the Upgrade Tier page there.
  • I'm pretty sure 505 covers shipping in the US
  • Physical PS4 an digital Steam is totally doable.
  • Cute pupper.
