Indivisible: Lab Zero's Action-RPG! (General Discussion)

hey everyone, someone in the comments of the indiegogo page asked this question:"I’d like to donate some more money monthly, but i have no credit card, only Paypal, so i can’t tip jar with the backer kit.
Is there a way to donate via paypal without selecting a perk? Maybe i’m just dumb and can’t see the option :p" do any of you guys have an answer?

I'm pretty certain the IGG page is for new pledges only, while Upgrades are through BackerKit. Also, any early backers that got the bonus t-shirt, will probably still have to e-mail LabZero to get the shirt re-added to their Rewards after they upgrade.

For the Beta, they should still be able to send every Backer a Steam Beta key through BackerKit as a separate reward, regardless of our platform choices. That's what a few other games I've backed were able to do. If they can get the Beta on consoles again, that'll be impressive, but patching it quickly for bugs might be a problem.

I’d like to donate some more money monthly, but i have no credit card, only Paypal, so i can’t tip jar with the backer kit.
The person should probably just e-mail LabZero. They might be able to take funds through Paypal directly and adjust the person's pledge from their end. Good job looking out for him!

And another thousand down.

Less than $7000 to go.
Uh, you must be having dreams about the Indivisible campaign, because the total hasn't been updated.

Unless you literally donated another thousand dollars.

I can do math on my own, thank you very much.

Just add the current IGG to the known backer kit funds.

because the total hasn't been updated.
What's to stop him from adding the difference between the last IGG total and the current IGG total?

It looks like Baozhai has had a significant redesign judging from Mariel's twitter.

At this point I'll be surprised if someone didn't get one. Except the already playable ones.

EDIT: Holy crap she looks awesome now.

Lab Zero really has talent for making me interested in things that look rather bland on paper and concept.

Less than $6k BTW. :P

*SLAMS HANDS ON DESK*

YESH YESHH

IF SHE DOESN'T HAVE HER SUPER MOVE BE "TWIN DRAGON BLAST" where she uses both of her Cannons I will be so sad.

omg

oooooooohhh this is going to be sweet.

I was fairly meh on Baozhai before, but now this design looks really cool.

The cannons still seem kinda silly though.

She looks 10 years younger. She moved from waifu to big sister.

In her original concept art she had a more angular jaw defined cheek bones and a thinner eye. Things that make you look older. The animation up there looks like her eye is bigger jaw less angled and cheek bone isn't as defined so she looks younger. I thought she looked around 33 in the original art now she looks 25.
waifu-->big sister anime trope.

is that really a bad thing man?

I bet she treats all of her crew like family. So her being that of the "Big Sister" would be alright. Ontop of that Her being with Ajna and all, I can see her empowering Ajna to do things she didn't think was possible.

it would be really neat to see that happen.

Last I checked, people called young girls "Waifu"...
And "big sister" is a really weird term to throw around alongside waifu for someone looking younger/being too young. Because in the Japanese-esque use of the term as a trope/archetype, if such a character isn't waifu material it's because she's considered too old.

Guncannon or Shigure recolor when?

Wasn't saying it was bad just that she looks younger. Maybe I'm understanding these tropes wrong but things like waifu, big sister, and little sister types all seem to be regarded with a similar amount of...love. waifu to big sister wasn't meant as a nerf just a change in...ideals.

I'm still waiting to see some of those sweet sweet Leilani animations. Chainsaawwwwss... *slight drool*

I love it but what's up with her pants? Does she have some kind of leggings now or...? I do agree with Tank though, she looks much younger in the face.

Silly? Maybe, but this is L0, and they're already bringing back fond memories of an equally excessive weapon in a more serious game:

I can't wait to see her blown back like Peacock from the staggering kick of her ridiculous weapon-choice. With that in mind, I think she might be more inclined to just stab with the harpoon more-often-than-not.

Yeah, when we got the old draft of this I thought it was pretty Nier-like at the time, hope the soundtrack can stack up against it, wouldn't be surprising considering Kikuta is great.

It's been a while since the BackerKit total was updated. If it's bumped up at all in the last couple weeks, then we might already be under $5k towards the next stretch goal. The campaign earned around $4k in a single week just a couple weeks ago, so that VO could seriously be funded at any moment now. All they have to do is keep the streams and updates coming!

I'm really curious to see how the beta will effect backing, since people will be seeing actual gameplay on Youtube and stuff it will probably bring in a lot of new blood.

Hopefully we'll get a popular Youtuber or 2 to spread that gameplay.

Many people probably forgot about the game by now.

One of Baozhai's attack start-ups looks suspiciously like coin toss. If she's girl-Johnny she has an unfair advantage for being one of the best incarnations.

The total was updated (though the date was not), less than $5K to go.

I just checked and the text in the background layer makes explicit reference to throwing/possibly shooting a coin out of her cannon. It's almost hilarious how little mike can resist the fighting game references, not that I mind that much.

possibly shooting a coin out of her cannon
Shooting a coin with her cannon. Meaning it's the target.

Fuck that coin in particular.

I agree, I think the Beta could generate a lot of new interest, especially once people see how much closer the game is to a finished and tangible product. There's definitely no way the campaign will make enough buzz to reach the Mystery Dungeon goal without it.

Since there hasn't been a public release since the Prototype though, there's a lot of pressure on the Beta to deliver an experience that looks and feels noticeably evolved from it. People will be much more critical about everything from environments, to sound effects, to story dialogue (or lack thereof), so hopefully LabZero is ready to make some jaws drop with it.

Speaking of the beta...
I've been wondering if it will be available for Mac and Linux or if it would just be on Windows?
I think this might have been asked before but 289 pages is a lot.

According to the twitter part of why it's not happened yet, just like why they didn't put out the updated prototype, is because they want to put it on consoles and not just Steam. I would imagine Mac and Linux wouldn't get shafted under that mentality.

I don't work in the games industry, but from what I'm told you have to pay licensing fees to publish patches on consoles, so wouldn't that make putting the beta out on PS4/Xbox a money hole? I guess if that's the case it'd be 505's problem, not LZ's and I understand wanting to include all backers.

Plus, if the beta's for testing purposes, Mac and Linux will need to be tested, too. :P

Lol this, I'm friggin dying for any new gameplay. Not even necessarily an -Endful Beta-, just anything. Mike has repeatedly emphasised how the Prototype was not even 1/10th of his true creative vision gameplay wise. I need to see his staggering creative intelligence and love let loose to run in the fields! A gameplay trailer would satiate me personally, but a Beta? That would bring in so, so many new people.

That got dropped quite a while ago. Specifically during Skullgirls DLC IGG, and allowed to divert more money toward that project. Unless they started to do that again and I didn't hear then there shouldn't be any fees for releasing updates.
