Talk About Ren?

ITT: "Notice me, Renpai!"

I see what you did there.

I wonder how Ajna and the others meet him?

Probably finds her because he was paid to kill her therefore boss fight!

Interesting.

that or he act like Vega and is all creepy like... you know. cause there's got to be atleast one weird guy in an RPG that is unsettling to the player.

I'm not sure if I'll find Ren unsettling.

you say that now. Just wait until he starts licking his lips when ever he's near one of his "targets"

I never found that unsettling, either.

Is anyone else looking forward to Ren, at least?

Potential voices for Ren?

Nah man, Gilbert Gottfried!

Yuri Lowenthal, Johnny Yong Bosch, Roger Craig Smith, or Crispin Freeman.

I don''t think the game will have VA for major characters honestly (if the fundings not reached.) And honestly Im expecting it to be a reused SG VA, as for whom I do not know.

Christina Vee and Mike Z for everyone.

Only $96,170 until that goal is reached.

Thats still a lot for in demand though.

They've said on the campaign page, and in interviews, that the base funding goal covers Voiceovers to the extent that they're found in games like Valkyrie Profile (PS1). This includes the cost for casting VA talent they haven't necessarily worked with before.

So that means, even without hitting the goal, we can still expect to hear characters talking at certain times in the game, and in battle, but just not at other points. You might hear Ren's VA when he first meets Ajna, but just not for the dialogue he has afterwards.

Having Full VO funded would obviously give them a lot more flexibility for this stuff though, so it'd be great to reach it. I think with the BackerKit coming, and an updated Backer Alpha/Beta build to gain interest, it might still have a chance.

Any other Ren related opinions?

I think it would be best to wait for more info before we dive back into this thread, I mean tbh theres nothing really to talk about now.

Yeah, that sounds good.

Just to start a discussion, lets talk anout the possible real weapon Ren use with is hair.
*I don't want to talk about his beauty*

It is possible he is using a karambit.

"The karambit comes from Southeast Asia, where legend holds that it was inspired by the claws of big cats. It was used as a farming tool in the region by the peasant class but, eventually, was used as a weapon. (As all pointy objects usually are.) In Indonesia, it was considered a peasant’s weapon but soldiers would use it as their last resort when their other weapons were lost. A point of interest is that it became popular with women as a self-defense weapon. They would tie it into their hair."

That's cool. :)

also we don't know if Ajna's Daddy is dead or not. All we know is Dhar came by one day and destroyed the Village and now Ajna's pissed. oh and she can absorb people.

*Ajna opens her mouth in a cartoonish fashion and swallows Dhar in one big gulp*
Just realized that means Ajna is actually Kirby this whole time!

I really really like Ren, wondering how he'll turn out in the actual game. Loving the blades in the air and i wonder if he'll have an attack where he attacks with his braid or something.

I wonder how Ajna and the others meet him?

For some reason i hope they ran into him like he's been hired to kill Ajna and then beaten he goes "alright you won i guess you're my boss now"

That would be really nice.

maybe or maybe Ren might creep around following Ajna after getting beaten and that after a long while she just takes him in.

I like how this make him feel like some poor kid just wanting to be part of Ajna's little crew :^) I do like this too tho

So, pretty much Zevran from Dragon's Age. I love Zevran from Dragon's Age.

Wouldn't mind that a tall.

I'd like it if Ren was a constant threat, and after fighting him a bunch, you'd have to go on a sidequest to find him and add him to your party. He definitely strikes me as one of those "not listed in the manual" type of party members.

Isn't he the one to teach Ajna how to use the kurasigama though? I'd assume he's mandatory if it's the case, unless the whole thing ends up being an optionnal upgrade.

Not necessarily. Ajna might pick up the kusarigama elsewhere, and finding Ren might just let her unlock a secret special ability with it.

Well he looks like he's playable (and he also got a slight redesign. :^) )

I really hope his attire is still deep-green. There was seriously a distinct lack of green characters in SG, probably the only reason I ever wanted Annie is bc of that. We'll see I guess, can't wait for the rest of the re-designs.

"Just imagine his redesign!"
//sees redesign
"OH NO, HE'S HOT"
