The Legendary Bounty Hunter! Metroid/Samus Aran Thread

I've been playing through Prime 3 again and it's nowhere near as good as I remember. It's probably the weakest game in the Prime series. 2 is still the best.

TFW your Samus in the new direct

Just saw this

Tell me if I'm the only one, But I still had that wrist strap from the original DS run that had the little plastic piece you could put on your thumb to make a stylus. I just used that for Hunters and Moon and never had a problem with first person games on the DS. Still have it too now that I think about it.

Also Hunters was the bomb. I'll rep that game until the end of time.

Yeah, it had shitty character balance and a pretty lame single player campaign but the multiplayer was a pretty damn good Quake Arena/Unreal Tournament style classic fps blast-a-thon.

Also the control scheme was perfect honestly. Once I realized that double tapping the touch screen was a jump, it felt and worked perfect.

man if only there could've been a sequel for THAT game instead
Judging by how Federation Force was in development since 2009 it just might very well be...

The one thing I don't rlly get about Federation Force is that they're riding mechs, but the Space Pirates are about the same size? What the heck does that mean? Is this the specially genetically altered super midget group of the federation??? How tall is Samus???
I mean is it just this?

The worst part about that drawing is how the space marine mech looks 100% more appealing in my eyes than the current one tbh.

If there's one mission where the player characters are forced out of their suits and normal sized Samus walks in, looks down at the tiny midgets that piloted the mech warriors she saw from earlier, then immediately walks out, then all is forgiven.

I'm loving AM2R!
if you didn't get to download it before the nintendo nazis shut it down here's a link

you are right it is great but my biggest concern with it is the lack of "real" bosses. most of the time you are just fighting baby metroids over and over again and it gets pretty tiring to be honest.

I know that it is part of the original metroid 2 but it gets samey when you feel like there is no cool bosses to look forward to.

epic boss battles are a weakness of mine so in that front it is really disappointing.

also nerd project ive been working on. Nearly finished!

So who is excited for 2 new metroid games? I know that Prime 4 is some way off but im looking forward to Samus Returns. Looks like there is enough new stuff to seperate it from AM2R.

Ive also started playing through all the prime games again. It will be interesting for me to see if i still dislike prime 2 as much as i did when i first played it, and to actually finish prime 3. Guess i may as well play through Other M as well since i never touched that one.

Metroid: Samus Returns came out, and I just beat it (100%)
Very good game, definitely felt like a warranted/necessary remake.
The post-credits scene once you finish the game shows an enemy being infected by the X-Parasite, which, coupled with the designers original pitch being a remake of Metroid: Fusion leads you to believe that we're getting a Metroid Fusion remake next.
I think it's likely, especially since Super Metroid doesn't NEED a remake, it's perfect as is.

I got it the day it came out. Enjoyed it as someone who isn't too big into the series.

It is surprisingly tough as nails. I died dozens of times, mostly to bosses.

Yeah fuck her. The robot too. Even regular enemies do like 50 points of damage. It's weird.

I got it as soon as possible!! But working a job and college's gotten in the way a bunch haa ; v ;

plus I gotta actually hold onto my 3DS cause the ports been a bit banged up so I can't just pick up and play anymore

but it feels sooo fluid and good so far!!!

Alright, so how about those sequel/tease hooks, 'eh?
In Memory 10, it looks as if the Chozo escaping SR388 are being picked up by another faction of Chozo, only for the screen to turn red and for it to be revealed the other Chozo killed them.
This can be interpreted in a few ways. They could be Chozo who killed the SR388 Chozo for creating the metroids and in general being dumbasses making unkillable monsters
Or they could be a "Rogue" Faction of Chozo.
Rogue Chozo in Prime 4? Hopefully.
This could also tie into the Sylux Tease from Prime 3, and Federation Force.

Secondly, more obviously, the ending super teases A Metroid Fusion remake, is that warranted?
