Final Fantasy

I see a poser!

If it's anything like the Neo Exdeath treatment, my eyes are fucking peeled.

if the ATE isn't the tank suplexin' that darn train I'm unsubbing because I have been failed as a consumer

Daddy's home, and he is fucking pissed. Seems he is completely rushdown with only 1-2 projectiles, everything else is just hard hits and rushdown. Also seems to have a Rapid Cancel like mechanic to cancel any attack in a combo, which can lead to nutty combos.

Jecht straight up has no projectiles in his base kit
You use Meteor or fucking nothing but why use Meteor when you can use Blade or Dunk

the fact that it's the battle map itself instead of the actual location
this is even better than squall's angst dome

It's confirmed to be a new villain anyways
I hope it's for XI or XIV myself though

Villains from the newer half hmm? were there any standout villains in 9 outside of kudath?

Other than that, that leaves Seymour, Vayne, Caius, Bartandelus, Or any of the many villains from the MMO games #QuickthinkAllthoughts4Dissidia

If we get any villain from 14 it'll probably be either Gaius, Zenos, or Nael
I'd want Gaius, myself, but any of the three would be fun choices imo

Now if it's Lahabrea I'm just leaving. Into a volcano

Yoshi-P said that he had 3 picks for FFXIV characters in Dissidia
Nael Deus Darnus, Zenos Yae Galvus, and Alphinaud.

I'm aware. I think Zenos is a little too recent and everything surrounding Nael is pretty spoilery, whereas Gaius is a nice middleground. Well-liked, iconic to the game, nothin' too spoilery about 'im.

Alph is a good choice for a second hero slot though, puppet character in NT would be silly as hell.

Nael Deus Darnus has been available for 4+ years, and most people watch the story related to Binding Coils, I'd say the spoiler stuff with them has passed.
And you COULD use Zenos without too much spoilers, but yeah, Alphinaud would also allow the opportuinity to show the OTHER brand new class they made up for FFXIV (Arcanist), since Conjurer was shown with Y'shtola.

i might also just wanna be Richard Epcar and call people fools and savages (especially people who use Vaan. friggin' troglodytes)

Huh... The dynast king is much more punchy than I remember...

Vayne's always been a puncher, his second form is even all beefed out.

I have to say that I'm super impressed with his moveset, he looks fun and unique compared to the other heavy types

FULL DISCLOSURE: I have never played FFXII and know nothing about it besides the "I'm Captain Basch" meme.

I'm honestly really disappointed, FFXII already had a Chaos rep in the form of Gabranth (AND HE WAS THE FRICKIN' LOGO FOR FFXII), so instead of making up a Chaos rep for a game that still doens't have one, they just made another for FFXII to cover the fact they need to rework Gabranth?
Laaaaaaaaaaaaame.
My opinion is likely to change once I play FFXII

He looks cool. I like how punchy he is and the fact that he has a launcher.

I kinda stopped playing the game when I reached Diamond with Garland online, I need to get back into it.

Vayne is honestly one of my favorite Final Fantasy villains entirely, if that helps
He's a genuinely charismatic and complex take on the usual evil emperor/conquerer type you see in the series

and this is coming from Ruin who hates/is critical of everything

it's called a release schedule, guys

Dissidia's off months are used for adding new stages and balance patches

The fact that is goes into next year is kinda

yikes

The console version feels like the red headed stepchild

I just remember vaguely his final phase being a super buff winged dude with a cannon arm that he spammed Flare with.

Dissidia is getting its first character rework with who else but the first boi, Warrior of Light

Warrior of Light's Shield of Light mechanic is getting retooled to synergize with his entire kit and reinforce his place as the game's true tank.
Now, WoL can hold his shield out (his moves that put the shield up have an additional input to do the attack now) rather than needing to time it as a counter.
When he gets his shield buff, WoL projects an aura field around him that (presumably) increases ally defense within the aura.
Furthermore, he can spend a level of his buff in order to power up his HP attack, rather than only Coruscant Saber getting one.
Shining Wave gains more speed and range, Croissant Saber gets its old fully buffed version (bigger and faster), Bitter End can now armor through HP attacks, and Ultimate Shield gains invincibility during the beatdown portion.

Cool that they're looking at some of the older characters and giving them tweaks to enhance their kits rather than just changing moves a little
I'm interested to see who else is being considered for a rework because there's a couple characters that I need some tweaks to their kits to shine more (Onion Knight is a big one here. help that small boi)

now all they need to do is fix the game to play like it used to.

Holy Chains does not need to be global again

also locke is one of the worst characters in 6 and the Figaro Bros got robbed, so sayeth Ruin, who is never wrong

no I meant making characters have less limited movesets.

Team based games require consistency in player loadout in order to maintain balance and fairness

think of it like in Overwatch, you see a genji, you know what he has (shit taste, for one but that's beside the point), you always know what genji's skills are, the cooldowns, his ult, all that.
it's consistent and allows you to plan for and around him.

in NT, you see Bartz (this player has good taste, unlike the genji player), you know from the party screen that he has one of four HP attacks, the same brave attacks each time, the same Lucky Charm, and two other EX Skills. Using the knowledge you have of bartz's moveset, his HP attack, and the EX Skills the player chose, you can more accurately plan against and around Bartz in the match. It's clean, it's consistent, it's fair.

adding more brave attacks into that mix would completely distort the balance of the match/match-ups and throw off team comp like a motherfucker
so it might be lame that some characters have fewer moves or someone you like got redesigned to have a playstyle that interests you less

but jesus christ is NT such a more balanced and bearable game at a higher level
people can bitch about Ace all they want but matches aren't five fucking minutes of dodging anymore

I played 1v1 matches in lobbies and it was the biggest snooze fest. 3v3 was the way to go.

dear God, amano designs are gorgeous in paper, but look really weird in 3d.

good thing they added the classic costume. much easier to recognize, also more practical.
