Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2018 Thread

Well, here's to holding out for gameplay being good...

We all wanted a gritty 3D arena brawler for the next big Shonen Jump crossover.

DMC5 looked pretty good despite the visual style being more like the reboot.

There were some indie games in that bigass montage they did that looked cool.

Also

Battletoads

I was very satisfied with this konference. DMC5, Dying Light 2, Ori 2 were very nice to see and some other nice surprises were there too.

Well Microsoft took a lot of potential hype from Sony's stream, hopefully this means they have some amazingstuff.

Overall, Microsoft gets a Solid B+
Woulda been an A- if they didn't have a Funko Pop + Mobile Game there.

Was anyone else really weirded out by the DMC 5 trailer?
because Nero looked uncomfortbaly like Donte with the hair cut and with the trailer trash waifu with him.
I thought for fucking sure we were getting DmC 2, but no, thankfully Johnny Yong Bosch spoke up and alleviated all our fears.

It did put me off but I can forgive it.

It's not like Dante from 4 did not look way different compared to 3.

I'm very interested in Sekiro, is it a story driven From Soft game? How much Soulsborne DNA is in it, is there online? Or is it just singleplayer only?

And in Cyberpunk do you create a character, or are we playing as the Street Samurai guy?

I'm also wondering what Sony's gonna have since Microsoft had 3 huge reveals that could've also easily been at Sony...

"You'll be able to create your-"

So probably create a character.

I've been wondering "why did I get a stronger PC? I don't really want to continue Witcher 2." I think Cyberpunk 2077 answers that question.

Also want to hear more about Adventures of Spaceman Spiff Captain Spirit.

Funko Gears was good troll that they wouldn't have attempted unless they had an immediate Gears 5 trailer.

Also HALO. With Space Deer!

And I'll probably have to get Tales of Vesperia again (still hoping for a port of Berseria to XB1 too).

That "we got 5 more studios for 1st party stuff" sounds like it could be exciting at next year's E3.

Halo Infinite, Gears 5, new Sea of Thieves content, probably Battletoads? Those are what I can think of for first-parties, doubt anything else is exclusive. At least would get on Steam.

I'm also a little curious about Jump Forces, it's interesting to have a crossover game set in our world, and due to Light being there I'm sure the pool of characters will be more varied than it was in J-Stars Victory verses, but who else?
And... how will Light fight? He doesn't have the Shinigami Eyes... will Ryuk do the fighting for him???

Also guys, Bethesda conference starts in an hour!
It'll be Todd Howard's wrath directed at all those living in West Virginia.
Link's 'ere, let's get ready.
You can use the Twitch.tv/Twitch link again.
Or you can watch it directly at Bethesda's Twitch (Might help against lag, who knows?)

Jump Forces blew my dick off. It's probably gonna suck but man it still looks cool.

Bethesda gets A- for putting nukes in a PvP sandbox. More than B+ because of that Skyrim port commercial.

Starfield and TESVI didn't actually show anything beyond the titles (not even a region subtitle) and vague landscape, Doom Eternal at least showed some demons but was mostly that, but it's Bethesda, so the fact that they exist is way more than expectations. Along with the Fallout 76 and TES Blades.

The 3 conferences have been pretty on par, but super boring. Then the PC game show started with more fun looking games so far today.

Would have been nice for Square to save their biggest bullet, KH, for themselves, but I suppose they knew more people would watch The BIg 3's conference over their own. Still, wish there was more meat to chew on.

Square Enix gets a B- from me

Ubisoft, however, total A-, lots of cool/interesting games there

One more stream left today guys, and that's Sony.
As said before, there will be four "Deep Dives" into certain games, but other games might be there as well. I imagine especially since a lot of trailers I thought would be at Sony were at Microsoft's instead.
Same as before, watch it at Twitch.
Or directly at the source with Sony.

The best part was the RE trailer ending with "it's coming... it's coming back!" and then the RE2 title screen. :P

And y'know what, if the gameplay is good I'll be on board to experience the insanity of Death Stranding. But who knows, all we saw for gameplay was some walking (gameplay confirmed at least... unless it's just cutscene and the whole thing is a movie mwahaha).

That Feudal Japan game I already forgot the name of just looked like Shadow of Mordor, but with nothing unique like the Nemesis System shown (yet). At least the Spider-Man game showed a couple cool tricks Spidey could do.

Alright, after my disappointment faded away, this conference was... actually quite good, it was just missing some extreme punch, just 2-4 more games like Mortal Kombat 11 (Speaking of, where's that!? It's not coming, is it), or Soul Calibur VI, but nah.
Ghost of Tsushima, Spider-Man, and Nioh 2 were absolute highlights.
RE2 being a class of it's own

Sony lacked any punch in the first half hour, but what they did show had good presentation, gameplay more or less, and style. Good on them having an actual different KH trailer though.

Was that a new Armored Core? What?

Alright so I think Nintendo won, but barely. Like if they didn't show Mario Party I'd give it to Microsoft.

Gonna buy Smash but who knows how much I'll play it. I might actually get really into it if Power Shielding is no longer ridiculously strong AND movement feels better.

PC Gaming won it for me; good game reveals and good presentation (if felt like something you'd see on early G4).

Mircorsoft didn't do anything for me, sure they had game reveals, but how many of them where exclusives, and how many of them would you actually buy and play.

Bethesda had Doom, that's it for me. Elder Scrolls 6 is just going to be Skyrim 2 with more farming and crafting like Fallout 4. Fallout 76 is gonna be a shit show.

Sony is ok, some good games where shown, decent exclusives, but presentation was sloppy and super dry.

Nintendo was ok, Smash was fairly hype, FE with actual armies seems neat, Mario party returning to form is nice. I just feel like there was more that could of been initially revealed (I know they're gonna talk more as E3 goes on but still).

Ubi had BG&E 2 Jade reveal, but that was it for me. Not into Mario and Rabbids so DK did nothing and the Starlink thing didn't do much more me either.

EA is EA.

Looking good.

That not-AC game Nintendo opened with looked rad. This was actually a good E3.
