Splatoon

It's not okay for anyone to spawncamp or base invade. Period.

I base invade all the time TBH. I just inkbrush around their base going around in loops as 2-3 of the enemies fail to chase me for half of the match. Ye old scout strats.

That kinda crap ain't going away. You can either keep complaining about it or queue up for another game.

I can only think of two things that could be described as spawn camping.

1. Ambush. Stealth is something that can be used anywhere. It is very important too, both to use it and to always look out for those trying to be tricky (and the map will always show up-to-date painting).

2. The enemy actually has total control of the immediate area. This... shouldn't be an issue thanks to the map design unless their team is like, Hydra Splatling + a bunch of other long-ranged automatic weapons against a team full of short-mid ranged weapons, and only on Port Mackerel where they have direct access to the spawn platform. That would not be a good team comp for Port Mackerel, and would require massive misplays to happen so it's almost literally the losing team painting themselves into a corner.
Edit: Even then the losing team can just constantly paint around them and build up special.

I've been complaining about this for months. I just didn't write about it until now.

"Queue up for another game" lmao as if I have that kind of money.

It happened a few times to me in Splatoon 1 on the Skatepark. Only a couple of times was I on the lockdown side. The rest? We were pinned in and no matter what we did the other side had us locked to the Spawn area and would kill anything we sent out trying to take turf and escape.

It was either from the other team just being that co-ordinated (probably a group who timed their playing to work together) or it was from lopsided teams (either AFK or bad internet connections)

I don't see the problem with spawn camping for two reasons:
The spawn itself has a barrier that keeps you safe.
Add to this that matchmaking usually gives teams at least 1 long-range user (with freak short-mid ranged weapons teams being the exception), and you'll find that spawn camping isn't really an issue.

I've been spawn camped multiple times, it's not going away, but I don't really care.
Every single time my team has been able to break free almost laughably quick.
If they can shoot you, you can reach them except they can't hit you thanks to Mr. Barrier.
Oh, can't reach them? They're bombing spawn? Your team has bombs too, use them.
Long range user keeping you down? Well your long range user doesn't even need to hit 'em, anyone with half a brain will eventually see the enemy sniper and at least pressure them off so the team can move to cover. No long ranger? No problem, there's a reason the area around spawn has cover and obstacles too.

tl;dr
It's almost laughably easy to break free of spawn camping.
You've got a multitude of options to pursue, and respawn is quick.

Just because the spawn has a barrier doesn't mean that you can excuse spawncamping.
There are rarely any good snipers/long range users in my team.
Yeah, your team might be able to break free of it quickly but that doesn't mean it applies to everyone else.
We do throw bombs, they scatter and come back the second after it goes off and they kill whoever was out there and go back to pinning us in spawn again. This also applies to the area around spawn.
Respawn is quick yes, but that doesn't make it any less infuriating.

If you don't see the problem with spawncamping and condone it: then you're part of the problem.

Anyways let's just focus on other stuff. Like Splatfest. Because I can't remember if we've had one for August yet.

How about the Sanrio X Splatoon 2 Merchandise being sold in Japan Sanrio Stores starting yesterday?

If you haven't gotten your subscription up yet, here's a pretty good time to do so! new limited time clothing items for the upcoming haloween splatfest!

Actually i missed quite a bit of news... looks like splatfests got an extreme overhaul. Splatfests are now determined by votes and "Clout" percentage on both normal modes and the new Pro circuit.

You can find all the new details here

Other random news, October will be our final brand new stage, and our last weapons should be in December.

Also an artist on twitter has been painting up some designs based on sketches from the Splatoon 2 artbok, giving more life into them. Its crazy to see all the designs Off the Hook went through

I already planned to pre-order it, along with the Shovel Knight Amiibo 3 pack and Ridley (Wolf and Smash Inkling are long gone), this is just extra incentive.

I think this is the first time we've seen Marina wearing glasses outside of Japan.

Not only that but she's also wearing a gaming headset despite playing with everyone on the couch. Not only that but this Smash Splatfest is one of the adorable promo's I've seen IMO.

Splatoon 2's Dead: The Final Splatfest Pt 2

Before showing this, they allegedly said "what kind of world would you wish for the inklings and their friends?"
So this'll affect Splatoon 3's storyline, choose wisely.

Waifu wars are cancelled, its just War now

This only means that Splatoon 3 is soon to come...

Highly doubt it. Almost all of Nintendo's multiplayer-focused get one installment per console, because the changes are usually so incremental that the real selling point is just having it on the new system. Splatoon 3 will happen when the next console does.

Yeah, idk missingno. Unlike splatoon, spla2n was at the very beginning of the switch life cycle, and we know that this game eas also on a timetable for content. I dont think Nintendo is gonna wait 5 years or so whenever switch 2 comes out for a sequel

Switch is still 8th Generation Console though. 9th gen has already been announced by Microsoft with Project Scarlet so who knows when Sony & Nintendo.

and as Switch is supposed to be the 3DS's replacement, it makes one wonder a little when the Home console will be for 9th Nintendo, and How Splatoon 3 will look for it. Especially with the Order Vs. Chaos deciding how things will look in Inkopolis.

Dedicated handhelds are probably over. Smartphones have largely taken over the role of device you can pull out of your pocket to kill some time on the go. 3DS already drastically undersold its predecessor and a new handheld would only go further downhill from there.

Plus, Nintendo benefits hugely from no longer splitting their development resources across two platforms. And since portability is the Switch's big gimmick, why release another device that directly competes with that?

So, who won the Influence of Splatoon 3?

Order or Chaos?
