Bayonetta thread? Bayonetta thread

<---- Owner of PS3 version. I bought it after the patch was released, but I heard it is still inferior to the X360 version. :( I need to go back and play it in Hard Mode.

It was pretty much how I discovered I was a lesbian.
Plus it's fun as hell too and so hype for 2.

Currently working on Pure Platinum on all difficulties (I'm done with Very Easy :D). Any one have any tips on doing it on Non-Stop Infinite Climax Mode for when I eventually get to that? I've beaten the game in that mode with an overall Gold rating, so I think I'm capable of at least tolerating it. Doing it flawlessly...I need some help there (and I'm trying to do this without the Kilgore glitch, so don't suggest that, please).

On to Bayo 2:

Whoa mama are we in for a ride. New hairstyle, new demons, WHIPS ON HER FEET YES, and deliciously gigantic, beautifully blue handguns (blue is my favorite color, so yessss). Can't wait. I'm really glad Nintendo gave this game a chance and left all creation of it to Platinum.

Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa (I think? The parry accessory) is your best friend. It's an essential to beat it. That, and the Kilgore glitch imo, but it's possible without the glitch. Good luck! I suck and beat it with the glitch :(

i wish i had enough skills to get not-bad rankings

and i should go finish it at least
It takes practice (like anything). I died so many times on my first playthrough on Normal, but now I can do Platinums on Hard like nothing.

Wish I actually wanted a WiiU. Looks like ill never play the sequel :/

That game warrants my desires for getting a Wii U (among other games). I will get one for sure.

It's the only game I want on that console though. I cant really justify blowing $350+ just to play a single game.

Beat it back when it was first released and loved the soundtrack to it. Especially this one.

It's the definition of what a holy war is and damn is it awesome.

You probably dont have to play the first one. Im sure somethings might make more sense if you do though. Like why Rodin is such a fucking badass. Its kind of explained in the description for the platinum ticket.

I'm just quite curious if someone will be able to play Bayonetta 2 with no knowledge of the first one.
Probably not.
I don't think you'd be able to. I believe the game picks up a bit after the first one. I highly recommend the first game though.

Godfuckingdamn this game is the best game ever.

Well shit.
Guess I gotta get the PS3 version of Bayonetta ASAP.

When's the EST of Bayonetta 2?
Early to mid 2014? 360s and PS3s should be selling for cheap online due to the new consoles coming out in two months.

Get the 360 version if you can. PS3 version was an abortion in comparison.

I was afraid you'd say that. I'm so bad at using it, it's nuts. I can only use it against obvious crap, like the giant fire meatballs that Fortitudo and other various enemies shoot. Guess I gotta practice using it on Gracious and Glorious. Getting Witch Time with it by countering the EXACT moment? Oh geez. Let's go Pulley's Butterfly -_-

Thanks for responding, as long as there's a non-PP trophy in my play history, I'll keep on dancing rage at the Laguna for having such "hard as balls not to get hit by" angels.

There's no trick to using the Mahaa-Kalaa. After a while, you begin to realize you can simply keep jerking the left stick in their direction to parry any incoming attacks. It's kind of like queuing up the parry every time you flick it in their direction; you shouldn't get hit as long as you're smart about using it. Practice makes perfect :) and perfect parries aren't necessary for Non-stop Climax since you can't activate Witch Time anyway.

I played Bayo 2 at Comic Con.

I like how when I first arrived, there were initially more girls lined up to play it then men.

It was pretty fun though, love how much more colorful everything seemed. And the stage on display was fun as hell.

One of my lady friends who was interested in it (Bayo 1, that is) damn near made me watch her play through it. She had TONS of fun. She kept doing the taunt over and over to make angels angry then run away from them. Her time score was kinda bad, but it made for some good laughs.

Question about 2: how did it feel? Still got that silky smooth gameplay?

Yup. It felt great.

It's been a while since I played the first one, so I couldn't tell quite what was new in terms of move set. There was a super mode you could go into by using the points you had accumulated for execution, I don't think that was in the original iirc.

Half the level was fighting centaur angel monsters (who have spears and huge reach) on top of a jet speeding through the city. After a while you take on a one armed giant angel (named Faith iirc) who chases along on a bridge whipping with his arm-tentacle, then he jumps on top and you fight him side by side with Jeanne.

When you try to finish him with a summon, the hell beast breaks free of Bayo's control and then steals Jeanne's soul, so you end up fighting him while ascending a giant building (you can fly at this point) before knocking him off the top and summoning another demon to finish him on the way down.

It was pretty cool.

I hope they still have th lava spider summon that they may or may not have stolen from when they made DMC.

Nice. I can't really think of a better name for a super mode for Bayonetta than "Umbran Climax". It's so fun to say, and even funner, I assume, to activate.

Good to hear Bayonetta 2 is smooth, might have to invest in the Wii U Pro Controller to play it, though

The only problem I had with playing Bayo 2 on the Gamepad was reaching the bumpers. I don't remember what was on them and it didn't really affect me too much while playing the demo, but having to reach further than normal annoyed me a little. I had no qualms with the actual gameplay though. It was still a kickass experience though and I can't wait to play it (and the first one!) eventually. I really need to just go out and buy it for 360 so I can play it at my uncle's house or something.

Of all the companies, it had to be Gonzo. While the animation is decent, I'm not holding my breath on this... given Gonzo's history track record.

I will NEVER forgive them for what they did with Black Cat.

That and my all time favorite adaption of a manga that will not be said until later.

Wanna know why the animation looks so familiar in the Bayonetta trailer? Go watch the Super Street Fighter IV Juri OVA and you'll notice a similarity.

I actually liked that OVA. My opinion is also so biased that it physically fucking pains me.
