does it have to be games? or can it be anything

Anything.

Last month, I unburied my Playstation 2 from where it was being stored and found that it still works, so I've been buying games for it on Amazon.

So far, I've bought Persona 4 (actually got this one from Gamestop's website), Shadow of the Colossus, and Okami (which was the distributors last copy).

got 63 for old mangas and then bought bravely default for 5 because I sell back games im not going to play again
I also found a lady I like...but I'm a pussy who can't start up a conversation with her...I am mad at myself

Hey, WANNA GET NUTS?

Then head over to Costco and try a bag of these Cashew Clusters. A friend shared these with me last year, and I finally got around to buying a few bags for myself. Yo, these things are like crack nuggets, but apparently still pretty healthy. I'm quickly starting to prefer 'em over typical granola bars myself.

I bought the first two megaman X games
though that seems to be for a certain value of the word "good"

got stuck in a hole for damn near 3 hours
turns out you can walljump
gg game designers sure did a good job cluing me in on that one

i shouldn't need to watch a video to figure these things out
that's just poor game design to include a basic feature with no indication of its presence

that's like if mario could only throw fireballs if he was jumping backwards

Birthday gift (My dog ate my previous stylus):

Broke down and bought this soon after since I had already played the beta:

Wonderful game. A lot of people who haven't tried it blow it off as COD with mechs and parkour, but this game offers so many gameplay styles it's not even funny.

The video wasn't meant as an explanation of how to do the thing. Egoraptor explains the importance of letting the player figure things out for themselves, and specifically describes how the level design in that pit segment leads the player to try, and quickly learn, to use the wall-jump mechanic.

It was not bad game design, but a way of teaching the player without using blatant intruding tutorials.

I had a friend get out of the pit (without having watched the Egoraptor vid) in several seconds.

well not everyone is gonna assume "maybe my best bet to get out of this pit is to JUMP AT THE WALL REPEATEDLY"
no sane person is gonna assume you can wall jump without indication
it doesn't need to be blatant, just THERE.

I mean there's a difference between "figure this out" and "do this thing you wouldn't think to do without exhausting all your other options"

Well let's see

Your in the first stage, in a pit, with only two walls and nothing else.

BOY I WONDER IF I SHOULD TRY DOING SOMETHING ELSE BESIDES SITTING THERE TWIDDLING MY THUMBS. MAYBE I SHOULD TRY TOUCHING THE WALLS OR SOMETHING TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS, SINCE I OBVIOUSLY CAN'T FLY?

I mean holy heck, you cling to the walls automatically when you touch them, you should have at least noticed that by accident if nothing else. And hey, if you experiment and try jumping while clinging, it works! Seriously it's not rocket science.

This is like the people complaining about no ingame movesets in Skullgirls at launch. I can sympathize with poor telegraphing, but this is just straight up DSPgaming style nonsense.

The only legitimate game design complaint I'd make about the first X is that they don't give you the dash move right away, and they don't tell you it's in Chill Penguin stage either. X2 and all the following ones fixed this though. The dash is pretty much THE defining feature of the X series, it's incredibly fun to use and essential, so not giving it right away was pretty lame.

Wh-What's going on here?

Well...when life gets confusing, that's when I head over to Costco and buy myself one of their large boxes of Chobani Greek Yogurt. Our store currently has them on sale $13! Not only is the yogurt good, but if you also stir in a few spoons of nutritious Kretschmer Wheat Germ, you'll have a delicious, healthy snack that'll help you nail those wall jumps every time!

Buying things. It does stuff!
*thumbs up, fade to black*

WHERE WAS THIS WHEN I WAS STARVING IN THAT HOLE FOR 3 DAYS

Bought another figure at a store yesterday to add to my Kotobukiya set. My favorite DC Heroine the lovely Helena Rosa Bertinelli aka "The Huntress".

bought a whole pizza and tacos (something about shootings on military bases gets a guy hungry) i don't wanna get into it

My first Masterpiece-Transformer. Since I’m (very) late to the party and missed Soundwave and all of his minions, I figured I get the black repaint instead. Cause everything’s better in black. Even Soundwave. Excuse me, Soundblaster, thanks Japan.

I have Wheeljack & Bumblebee on preorder; I hope I'll have enough money to afford Ultra Magnus once he’s up for preorder. I won’t miss another chance to get the MP-10 mold.

I'm bumping this thread since I got back into buying stuff. I just came from a convention and bought some good key comic issues.

X-Force #11 - First appearance of Domino. Mint condition for $15?! Yes, please!

101.jpg

Spawn #9 - First appearance of Medieval Spawn & Angela. Mint condition for $10?! Yes, please!

102.jpg

The New Mutants Annual #2 - First U.S. appearance of Psylocke. It's in very good condition. About a 9.0 - 9.2 at least.
