serious time though, I'm gonna check with my dad to see if I can get to Brooklyn after the thing. Might not be out just yet
 
I actually already have plans for this date, unfortunately. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to another one of these before Skullgirls is inevitably dropped due to lack of entrants.

I have to be a bit merciless when it comes to game lineup. I got about 5 games coming out this year that are going to get added (CC this month, AH3LM, UNIB, P4U2, XRD). That said, if the people keep showing, I'll keep doing my thing.

If it gets dropped, it would be our own faults tbh. 3 man tourneys are not the jam.

Part of me is happy for this. The other half is sad because its very realistic that an update won't stop NY from not playing this game. I sincerely hope that I am wrong though.
 
TBH all those other games are games I'm interested in playing (except for CC) so odds are you're gonna see me at Next Level again one way or the other.

Was the turnout really that bad last month? That sucks. I wish I lived anywhere near an SG tournament, people who are skipping on this don't know how good they have it.

I wasn't really expecting the numbers at the last one to be that good since it was on the day of both Civil War and PAX, and they weren't, but then the numbers for GG and BB were like 50+ each and I was like "welp"

To be fair, it was St1ckbug's birthday. A lot of people showed up to support anime from canada etc.

While we didnt get the greatest numbers for Skullgirls, we still had enough for a tournament, and we had fun running it. I would LOVE nothing more than to consistently get 20+ man SG tourneys at TSB, but if we don't get the numbers, that's fine too. I could only thank Dai for even giving our game a chance to begin with.

Whatever happens, happens.

Right now, I'm working with 8 minimum, and taking into consideration certain events (In addition to CW, KoF had a $25 entry tournament in NY the next week).

That said, there's no excuses this tournament. The turnouts for not-SF/Marvel don't look too good at ECT and UFGT is Midwest (though I am personally going).

As Lethal said, what happens, happens.
 
We can play for multiple games, right? Is there a limit to how many games you're allowed to play?
 
I'm pretty sure the idea is that there's a tournament, with casuals afterwards. So even if you lose your first games in the tournament, you can still hang around and play people after it's done for as long as you like.

Pretty much this. Also if you arrive early enough you can play casuals before the tourney too. There will be plenty of chances to play.

As always I have work, so I will make it a little close to tournament time unless I get someone to cover me . If any of you gents can bring a ps3 that would be gr8 too.
 
I'll be bringing my PS3 so I have that covered no problem, and yea there's no limit to playing, just pay the house the $10 cover and bring your own stick, or rent one, but I'm pretty sure you have your own stick. Actual tournament is an extra $5, and after the tourney it's all casuals.
 
I don't have an arcade stick...can I use a PS3 controller? ._. This will be my first tournament if I can make it...

Controllers fine, just remember to bring your usb connector with it so it syncs up properly and doesnt interfere with other PS3s.

So that was a fun little experience. Hopefully next month we can get at least fourteen people. Thanks for the casuals, Rizil. That helped warm me up a lot since I hadn't played skullgirls in weeks. Gotta try and watch the top four stream footage later.
 
If by warm up you mean body me like 25-2 or w/e it was then sure np lol. Still had a good time tho, so its all good. Had a pretty hype match with espeon that went down to the last man that he edged me out on but was still awesome. Hopefully more ppl will show up next time (if there is a next time...)

Feels quite good even though I played pretty bad. GGs everyone hopefully the June meetup will be just as hype.
