Squigly Big Band
So when playing skullgirls do you use the dpad or analog stick? Me its more character specific, for peacock and cerebella i prefer the analog stick (cause of the 360 motion, and peacock's multiple use of quartercircles) but for the rest i use the dpad.

It may sound strange, but I use both. I formed the habit while playing Big Band: I do everything movement-wise with the analog stick but the command taunt I do with the d-pad. I don’t know why, but I can do the taunt much better with it.

That’s the rare case I use the d-pad though, otherwise its analog stick only.

Oh, by the way, I use the 360-controller.

360 pad & analog stick here. Swinging it around is half the pleasure of the game.

I wish there was another choice on the poll. I use dpad on ps3 and analog stick on 360. For no reason other than that's where my thumb likes to be.

I play on ps3 pad but I do 360s with the analog stick.

Whenever I have to use ps3 pad, I use the dpad.

I mainly use the dpad. However, I've been playing Big Band recently and I seem to like to use the analog stick when doing his zig zag move. Kinda hard to get used to.

Use both. The stick is much easier making QCF moves with and etc. While D-pad is much easier to move the character and making DP moves!

I use the ps3 dpad myself.

It seems like there's different versions of dualshock 3 as well, my black one registers diagonal inputs much better than the blue one I am currently using. Sadly the black one's right triggers broke :(

Analog stick, but I think SG is lenient enough with inputs that it doesn't really matter.

I use both!
I use the D-pad if I need "accurate" movement and the Analog for more fluid movements!

PS3 Dpad (I'm trying to get used to Arcade Sticks), I do full circle/half circle moves with the Dpad as well.

My general rule of thumb (heh) is: If 2D environment/menu = Dpad; 3D world = Joystick.

I can't imagine using a joystick in a 2D world - let along in a fighter.

Analog stick only. Never tried using the D-pad

I play both, but mostly use the 360 pad and I use analog stick. When I need to dash forward, back dash, or air dash I use the D-pad, but other than that I don't use it much.

DPad, I only use analog if I'm Cerebella (HERE. WE. GO!)

D pad, but I wouldn't mind having a fight stick w/a nice 6-button layout someday. Never had one for a console, but played fighting games for years in arcades.

360 controller and analog stick.

PS3 Dpad. I sort of nestle the knuckle of my thumb in the gap between the directions. I've never needed to use the analog stick... compared to the likes of Street Fighter and Guilty Gear, the inputs in this game are the happiest and most consistent ones I've ever experienced, and not a double-spin to be seen.

I use a 360 pad where I use dpad for everything but I switch to analog for the HERE. WE. GO. (the freedom of movement to spin it makes 360s easier than the dpad IMO)

I never use the d-pad in Skullgirls specifically.
In other fighting games, I'll only use the D-pad if there's a down-down motion.
