Parasoul Squigly Big Band
I finally decided to make one too. Definitely not going to be updating it too often. Probably not even once a month. However, anytime I have a match recorded I'll be sure to post it. So before the match review, let me say that I recently started playing the pc build of Skullgirls. I'm not quite sure if it is my laptop or what but for some reason, playing the pc build seems a lot different from playing on ps3. I feel like there is a delay between my inputs and my character, but looking at the screen it doesn't seem to be the case. Not really sure how to describe it, but hopefully if I play enough I can overcome this problem.

Ok so first up is my match with taluda during his kumite. I went with squigly/parasoul/valentine. Now my reasoning for this is because defaultly my team is val/para/squigs but I remembered Taluda believes Painwheel beats Valentine. Not sure if he is right or not but I never played against a pw as good as his, and i didn't want to risk it. So I started squigly since she has the better match up. I probably should have just picked one of my other teams, but I was curious and wanted to see if I could pull it off.
Game 1: 1:46, I started with sbo just to get the first mix up off. The commentators said that it isn't worth because you don't get a mixup but I don't think that is true. Also I wanted to see if taluda would try and block it. So I did it and he blocked so I went for something tricky. I jumped over while calling val to fake a cross up with j.mp. It kinda worked because taluda called fortune whom val beat out and he jumped and got hit. Unfortunately though, I wasn't expecting him to up back like that and it through me off so I didn't confirm into a divekick.
1:49, I tried to counter his jump in with j.lk but for some reason, I didn't buffer into j.mk so another dropped confirm. I guess I just missed the button.
1:50, wanted to stop hitting buttons and try to figure out what is happening but he grabbed.
1:57, He goes for a reset and he misses. That was just luck. I didn't grasp in time what was happening so I didn't punish.
2:00, I tried to jump out but didn't block. I don't know how that happened.
2:04, My pad d/c briefly so I missed a punish and called parasoul which is due to my assist call button being very sensitive.
2:05, I go for a grab cus i figured low hit was obvious but he up backed again.
2:06, Ok so I'm a little frustrated right now so i decided to just try to force myself so I can get the momentum. Didn't work and I end up not reacting to an obvious overhead.
2:11, still frustrated and instead of getting pb call pillar i get pb tag which in both cases would have been punished so that was just a bad play.
2:16
, I'm walking forward here because I thought taluda was going to go for that parasoul only crossup but he messed up and I just didn't realize fast enough to capitalize.
2:18, I called squigly accidentally. my assist call button again. I usually have more control over that.
2:20, missed a pb and got backdash.
2:22, I messed up a napalm pillar. Just didn't charge long enough.
2:28, there is a gap in that blockstring before the s.hp from pw hits and I tried to pillar through but again messed up. I really should have just blocked and then pb but I wanted to bet on a miracle.
2:33, I saw the overhead coming, I just didn't block fast enough. I should have just absolute guarded.
2:37, welp I tried to absolute guard here but I guess I didn't hold down back. The good thing here is this is where I stop being frustrated.
Game 2: 3:50, So I started the last match with sbo so I figured taluda would respect me again and I could get some space and a free charge, but he charges in and I get slightly scared so I don't go for charge. I also don't go for an easy sbo either which I could have got since taluda was charging nails. My mind was running a bit slow there.
3:55 again tried to block the overhead on reaction and failed.
4:05, Finally find some footing as taluda drops his combo. now my confidence builds up.
4:10, I tried to go for a crossup mix up here, but I goof and end up staying on the same side. Luckily though I end up picking it back up and get a tic throw. Sadly I have a brain fart here and instead of getting a combo off the throw, I get a charge. Btw for those who don't know, on some characters including pw, squigly can get a charge and a combo off throw. So yeah big mistake I made there. Luckily though I read the jump and get a combo on pw anyway.
4:19, Go for a super bait here. I wanted to insure I had more meter than taluda as well as keep him out of 3bars for awhile so as to not have to deal with a dhc into rocks. So he takes the bait and I get a combo to finish off pw. Things are looking up.
4:33,
the mix up was call pillar in case he supers and throw in case he does nothing, but i jumped back. I have no idea how that happened. So that messed up so now I'm a little panicy inside. i just go for alittle something to see if I confirm. I don't get the confirm so I back off and see what he does. Then I jump back in to counter him trying to jump out and I get the right read but again I didn't buffer the j.mk. This was more of because I lost confidence and wasn't 100% sure he'd get hit by the j.lk but I should have buffered anyway. he mashes and I get hit but he drops it.
4:40, I wanted to do dp here but I botch the whole input and get f.hp. It worked out anyway but I'm not proud.
4:47, I wanted jab into center stage than daisy, but I botched the input and die.
4:55, I saw taluda back off a bit so I came in swinging, but no confirm.
5:00
, again I knew where the gap was and tried to pillar but no dice.
5:06, Finally get a pillar and momentum is back on my side.
5:09, read a jump so I tried to air grab but it was a bad read. Didn't matter though because taluda fibered at a bad time.
5:14, That air grab was intentional but the follow up combo had another brain fart. I did the wrong combo so it dropped. I go for a low reset thinking te overhead was obvious but apparently it would have been the good call. So then I transition to some parasoul corner lockdown I've been working on but he alphas for some reason. He misses though and I get the confirm, but that tear I tossed early gave me conflict. Part of me was like do a ground string combo because the tear will ruin a launcher. The other part of me said don't mind it your good. I chose wrong.
5:23, he is clearly in the air but that didn't register to me for a good while.
5:29, here I was expecting low or pillar bait but he threw.
5:41
, I thought I was high enough to hit bella with a dead cross.
5:53, I haven't played with taluda since sde so I forgot all about that s.hp from fortune. I lost again but now I feel more driven or like just ready because I did a lot better this game.
Game 3: 9:04, So he didn't respect me the last game so I go for sbo again but he blocks it. I'm expecting him to up back so Ima delay c.lk to avoid the pb and catch his jump, but I delay too much and he gets away.
9:08, He's flying around me so I call pillar to scare him off to give me space for j.lk but he avoids it while still staying directly above me which I can't help but commend.
9:10, I actually was trying to stand block here but I hit up and get air thrown.
9:22, Big mistake, I tried to jump out as if he would let me. the best option here was mh sbo. He was far enough where buer super wouldn't reach.
9:31, I try to go for another cross over reset here but again I mess it up.
Until 9:44, I didn't know what was happening. I noticed cerebella get hit and i decided to focus on that. So yea, I did not see pw above me.
9:48, taluda goes for that parasoul only cross up of which I know about so I block it. To bad that is all I can say because he avoids my pbgc pillar and goes for the throw option of that reset. Then me goes for it again not sure why but he gets me in another hard to block situation and parasoul goes down.
10:05, He hasn't air thrown me on incoming yet so I figured he'd do it now but nope he did not.
10:11, Read the incoming j.mp so I do counter super. I was going to do a max damage confirm off it excluding the vial load because I didn't have time to load one and switch sides. I think it would have killed if I built the bar but I guess we will never know because I drop it.
10:27, he messes up but unlike other players I fight who stop and wait, he stops to grab and again I get caught.
10:36,try to super and fail. So now I'm just determined. I was like I'm going to win the next one.
Game 4: 11:28, So I recognized first game he respected, second game he didn't, third game he respected, so I figured this time he wouldn't. Thankfully I was right and he got hit and I got my charge.
11:38, I also recognized that I don't go for the overhead because I expect taluda to block it but I'm always wrong. So this time i go for it but he blocks and calls fiber.
11:48, So I felt like my reaction time and my ability to move my fingers was 100% so I was just confident in blocking. Blocked the overhead and the crossup. starting to fell good again. Punished the j.mp with pillar and I get a combo. Then I get the reset and pw dies.
12:06, Went for a cross under on incoming but I think I did it too early and gave him too much time to react. I should have sbo here but again my mind isn't clear. Still caught up on "dang screwed that up".
12:09, ok I saw squigly fall out here so I tried to dp but squigly said no and did something else and got hit.
12:21, tried to super on incoming, didn't get it again.
12:30, expected an overhead here. I should have countered again but for some reason I still thought I could block.
12:40, I got tired of blocking and wanted to super which again was a bad call. I should have landed and punished. So 4 losses going to last game. I just switch teams for next game because why not
Game 5: 13:42, back off at the start. I don't mind playing from far away.
13:47, the plan was block and call pillar. not sure what happened there.
13:58, I didn't learn from past mistakes and again called pillar while he flew above me. Next time I should call it then jump up to hit him.
14:12, didn't block the cross up. Even in sde I never block that. He drops it though going for a more telegraphed one. Gives me a chance to get something started.
14:20, BE H is a pretty good lockdown assist and I feel it helped a lot this game. It stopped bella and held taluda long enough for me to low hit.
14:27, I know taluda hates dealing with parasoul, so I figured he would take this chance to reversal out but he didn't take the bait.
14:30, Was not sure how taluda dealt with stare downs, so I froze up a bit expecting fiber or grab.
14:38, I like to go for overhead into throw as my main mixup with parasoul and didn't expect the overhead to hit.
14:45, I knew he was baiting it but i decided to go for pillar into lvl3 anyway, just so I can go for a mixup again.
14:50, just didn't realize he was airborne fast enough
The rest of the match is self exclamatory.
It was fun. I was a little salty about it right after but it's all good. This being my first time on pc definitely contributed but a lot of problems stemmed from me either over predicting or just dropping inputs. Any comments are appreciated
