Game Mechanics thread

Well, I planned on learning more of the game's mechanics. I was just wondering if knowing the game inside and out was an absolute necessity to become good.

On the path to becoming good, you learn the relevant bits of info about the Game Mechanics by just playing.

Whether preblock triggers from 200 or 250 pixels is super irrelevant .. if you want to abuse something about it, you will get a feel for the distance anyway; measured pixels is not going to help.

It sure doesn't hurt to learn more things, so if you feel like it, go ahead! But you won't become good at SG by reading and remembering a book about it.
