Training glitch or game mechanic?

Squigly Painwheel
With Squig I combo HK j.HK qcf.HK j.HK. The Dummy counters and knock me across the screen. Is that supposed to happen? This isn't actually a combo I was trying to do, just something I found while experimenting.
 
Did the opponent turn red because if so that's the infinite prevention system kicking in
 
Yes she did. Thx! Hadn't noticed the red before.
 
There should be a lesson in the tutorials about IPS. The basic idea is that if you used a move earlier in the combo, you can't start new chains with that move. Instead of HK j.HK qcf+HK (j.HK) you could do HK j.HK qcf+HK (j.LK j.HK) and it wouldn't trigger red sparks/burst since you started the new chain with a different move.

There should be a lesson in the tutorials about IPS.
Would be great if they'll expand bursting lesson. Although I think that the system wasn't considered finalized by the time tutorial was up to release, so IPS wasn't really explained fully.
