So, I tried to play online like 10 times now. Only one game stayed stable till the end. All the other ones ended, due to connection issues. Is there anything I can do, to fix this? Like opening several ports or something like that? This even happens, when the ping is around 100.

And: What number do I have to choose, when it comes to this lag-whatever-decision-screen. I always select the default number (4 in most cases), but maybe this is not the best choice.

I have no idea regarding ports, but I wouldn't ever use 4 frames of input delay unless it was a red connection. The closer to zero you are, the more 'realistic'the experience (and the more you'll get out of online play). I usually put the delay one less than the lowest recommended. This makes it do you have less input lag, but the chance of rollbacks are higher. I only ever get rollbacks on red and some yellows though, so it's not something I worry about.

Okay, I will try that today. Are you able to play with people outside your area and still have a decent ping?

I just keep my input delay to two frames. If the game isn't stable then your internet isn't very good, lol.

Keep in mind for fighting games you should stick to people with low ping. Don't try to play with someone that has 200, just don't.

I live in a far away country AND my net seems clunky... however, people with around 200 ping have been pretty okay for me. Hope we can all get this ping thing fixed, though. Might need to look into a new ISP.

A lot of Skullgirls multiplayer problems can be caused by port forwarding (or lack thereof). When I first got Skullgirls, I had all of the recommended Steam Ports open, but I still couldn't get into lobbies, and Quick Match barely worked. Turns out, you need to open these ports:

Code:
UDP 6000-6009 (Incoming/Outgoing)
TCP 7000 (Outgoing)

These are the ports for GGPO, the networking library that Skullgirls was built on. The GGPO website says these ports ARE required for games that use it. I haven't seen this info in a lot of Skullgirls-related places, so hopefully it helps.

If this post does help you, please let me know. Or just like it, whatever.

I think then problem may be in game server.You can try playing another online game.If the same problem occurs.Reset the Modem ....Un plug the connections,then plugin.You can check the ping using the methods below before playing the game and while playing the game...sure you can find is the problem in connection or in the website.You can check the Ping of the Internet Connection easily...To check Local LAN Connection Ping by using the Following method
GO to start->run->cmd->Ping ip-address
or you need to check Ping for website from your computer means you can reach here Whoisxy.com and do the Ping test for yahoo,Google etc...

Check your internet connection . Delay may occur because of network traffic/slow connection . You can use the internet boost up ideas and try to check ping your ip address using the following command : Click start -> run-> cmd-> ping ip address If the same delay persists, contact your ISP .
