Ms. Fortune Filia Double
Hi

I haven't seen a thread like this yet and it seems off to me to talk about Teambuilding in the "General" thread, so here we go

Discuss away her best assist choices, assists which help her the most, ideal team position, characters which synergize well with her, DHC trickeries, etc

I'm pretty new, but I've been having fun with ElizaBella lately. "Devil Horns" is a surprisingly useful assist, and I enjoy "Solar Barge."

Mostly, though, I'm afraid it's less a duet, more "lady in training needs a backup artist for solos."

I also used to have a nice threesome of Fortune/Eliza/Bella, but I eventually decided I like doing actual damage per hit, esp. against Marie. One Bella was too powerful, but three were too weak, so two fit pretty well.

Obviously, any advice of mine should be completely ignored when considering playing against other people.

Oh! Oh! Hm Ok.

Parasoul can drop her combo and slow plink a Cerecopter assist call into Napalm Pillar. It will beat most reversals besides Daisy/SSJ etc and they get launched into Copter and you can pick up with 9/\ jLP jHP or jMK jHK.
If they block it you're still in and can move while copter attacks and they can't upback because Pillar preblock.

Cornered Painwheel can read the reset and use DeathCrawl to slide out of the corner, then DHC into Bella for a corner Diamond Dynamo conversion since DC side switches.

Showstopper DHC into Hatred Install pick up is nasty, or DHC into hatred install makes 360 pretty safe since you can see their jumping frame early.

Showstopper, wait for her to throw the opponent in the air, then while they're at the top of the stage DHC into Sniper and it's really swag.

Idk that's all I got for now.
I like to put her 1st 2nd and 3rd because she's good everywhere, but mostly third.

Okay, my input. Keep in mind that I haven't played this character for long..

- H.LnL and Cerecopter are her best assists by far (and everyone knows that I guess)
- Devil Horns is lousy due to abysmal horizontal range
- Ram (aka Battle Butt) is fun, but -similarly- not very good. The easiest comparison to make is Brass assist, where it just falls flat. Again, the premier problem is the lack of range.
- M.LnL?? I have not tried this much at all. It kinda sounds like a defensive assist that won't actually protect you from anything..
- Titan Knuckle sounds fun until one learns that assists don't deal slide knockdown
- Kanchou sounds fun until one remembers that people have to block assists away from the point
- Pummel Horse sounds fun too, but it doesn't exist
- Ddrop/MGR are probably usable, but I don't like them at all.. To me they are classic "win-mores" - if you are already hitting the opponent they are useful, but they won't help you get that first hit. Well, MGR might..
- Excelebella may work as a mixup (catching upback) / AA assist, but it has similar problems as the point version, in that has no invuln and doesn't hit the ground at all. I have yet to see it used to any notable effect.
- I don't think there is anything else worth mentioning..

- She can run anywhere really, but anchor is generally seen as her best position if alone because there is no better anchor.
She kinda does get better with meter..

- Her old #1 teammate was Peacock, but I'm not sure how true that is going to stay with the removal of both LnL+Teleport and Lenny DHC 360.
- Don't know who else would count as a notable pairing..
- In general she works with anybody, as she can be put on any spot of a team, and her two main assists are so godlike they're an asset to any character.

- I'm not really sure what she is looking for in assists, as I haven't played her for very long and not exactly figured out what she has issues with.
The frequency of her being run as an anchor hints at her not needing much of anything..
- A thing I noticed was people running assists which allow Bella to combo out of OTG Titan Knuckle; enabling midscreen conversions out of DDrop and Dynamo; example moves that allow this are Valentine's H.Bypass and BBand's L.BE

DHC trickeries, uuh..
- While one can't cancel 360 into Horns after the impalement, it is perfectly possible to do so with a DHC, which reads as huge huge damage
- Lenny xx 360 is unjumpable postflash (but this has been removed in the Beta)
- Dunno else?? One can combo after Dynamo midscreen with a variety of DHCs (obviously with Gregor, but also eg with Lenny due to.the high bounce providing the necessary time to dashjump after the opponent)

Not sure at this point what else I could provide..

Alpha counter > 360 is a thing everyone should do (I really need to use it more), even with copter if you can get the timing right.

Also I love that feral edge > dhc lv3 is not only safe, but plus on block, so I can mash whenever I want with fortune if I have 3 meters :D

Also s.hk assist is legit

Tripleposting is fun
No really, these are three very different posts and I feel it's easier to follow if they are split like this..
E: Wow, I didn't even manage the Triplepost; way2go Caio
E: lel I didn't even manage the double, phone typing is so fuckin slow

QUESTION! to the Pea/Bella players (eg @Mr Peck @Swiftfox-Dash).. Or really anyone that is up to help~:

What options are there for Bella to get Peacock in?

Eg an enemy's snap causes my order to be Bella/Pea; I now want to switch back asap, to avoid seeing Bella die and then sitting on solo Peacock.

Things I got:
- Raw Tag (duh)
- Dynamo xx Lenny, which is safe on block and leads to combos on hit
- When I still have the OTG, I can combo into Titan Knuckle xx Tag; the Slide duration is long enough for Peacock to comfortably get in
- When I still have the OTG, I can combo into Kanchou,Tag; the Wallbounce is long enough for Peacock to get in (no real idea why one would do this over TKnuckle, but it's a thing)
- When the opponent is in the corner, sMP xx Tag connects (midscreen the stagger reelback causes the Tag to whiff)

Is this the full list?

Ideally, I'd like a way to Tag-Combo into Pea (Tag doesn't have to hit, just have her get in safely) when the OTG is used up, as that's a rather common occurrence for Bella (after Airthrow, MGR, A2A anything, ..), but I was unable to find anything midscreen..

Thanks!

sMP, sHK xx Tag (kara-cancel) seems to work midscreen on some characters but you have to be pretty close to the opponent in the first place, so it's not very practical in a combo unless you find a way to do a really close sMP (and even then, it doesn't seem to work on everyone).

for what it's worth, c.mk xx tag crosses up and can be pretty ambiguous depending on your spacing (j.mp j.hk dash c.mk tag)

Edited to be less rambly.

Doing something like c.hp, j.lp mash, j.hp, c.lk, c.hp, jump back j.hp still gives you that full hard knockdown for you to tag.

This is a really good idea!! I will definitely play around with this.

Aye, crossup tag thingies are neat, but the risk of this is.. Kinda too large to qualify as a default option.

But still, doing something like c.hp, j.lp mash, j.hp, c.lk, c.hp, jump back j.hp still gives you that full hard knockdown for you to tag.
I don't really see how this works? Untechable burstbaits don't function when the OTG is used up, so I don't understand how that would get the opponent sufficiently far away.
Also i had diffculties even doing jumpback jhp and had to settle on nj instead (tested on bella; admittedly not for very long)

How do you guys feel about Diamond Deflector (retail) as an assist option?

I was messing around with it for a little while not too long ago, Para on point and Bella second. I was trying it out to see if it would alleviate some of the pressure of certain matchups (especially peacock+assist) and was having some moderate success with it. It was pretty easy to time a DD to come out in time to deflect a projectile, plus I had the freedom to move at my own discretion. Successful deflection's usually had favorable payoffs, while failed deflections weren't easily punished unless I made a poor call.

The physical hit was also a very important aspect of the assist. The hitstun was pretty decent and, while not as useful in neutral as her other options, it could be used to some extent for some interesting things. I find that the beta version is essentially useless as an assist option due to its lack of any physical hit properties or invincibility to physical hits upon a successful deflection. Any thoughts?

Oh yeah, forgot about that. That'll learn me, trying to test things while watching a movie. Uhhh... lemme see... uhhh... maybe c.mk, assist, c.hp, j.lp, j.mp, j.mk, j.hp?

jump back j.hp seems to miss Bella completely. It does work on other characters though.

Mike says the hit-less deflector is here to stay, so I wouldn't bother basing any tech around it.

Damn, oh well... guess I'll just keep doing what everyone else does and just use H.LnL or Cerecopter :/

Alright. The above stuff I posted was sorta half baked, and only works on select people in the best conditions (even doing c.mk, assist, c.hp, j.lp, j.mp, j.mk, j.hp, tag gets beat by half the casts supers and Bella's deflect and probably IAD's too but I didn't check).

Testing it further, it seems there is a way to connect with a staggering s.mp midscreen on specific characters (got it to work on Eliza and Valentine). You can c.mk, j.mp, j.hk, dash, s.mp, s.hk kara cancel into tag, which lets the tag connect by dragging Bella a tiny bit closer (confirmed to wwork on Val and Eliza). You can also land a close s.mp, runstop, tag, which seems sorta really impractical because just about everything you connect with midscreen pushes them out of that zone, but if you can find a way to land it then that works.

You could also always snap out their character and tag Bella out, which costs meter and may not do exactly what you want as far as who their point is, but it's an option (and you can build around half a bar with the combo into snap back, so that option only really costs half a bar).

There's also this thing that I found while trying to find a way to combo that you could do. Which probably is a bug and maybe you shouldn't get comfortable using it.

Little bit of testing on this for those curious, seems to work on everyone (including Beowulf) except Squigly, and to an extent, Painwheel, Big Band, Filia/Fukua, and Bella. (more below)

For all characters it does work on, (c.LK) c.MK /\ j.MP j.HK land microdash s.MP [...] works as a way to combo into it midscreen, including as an OTG.

EDIT: Nevermind, it kinda works on everyone except Squigly. To make it work on Pain/BB/Filia/Bella, you have to delay the kara s.HK so that Peacock's tag hits just as they're recovering from stagger. This does mean that how fast they shake'll determine whether it hits or not, however.

Based on my testing, against fastest possible shake it works on Band, Liza, Peacock, Valentine, Parasoul and Double (and with that, not on Squigly, Fortune, Bella, Filia/Fukua*, and PW**)

* I don't have Beta, maybe something changed in the meantime..
** I actually got it to work on PW a few times, but it is way harder. I think it's due to her stagger animation pushing one foot far forward at some point; if you hit that you're good to go - else, the Tag whiffs

It is quite finicky though..

chances are it will get blocked but it looks kinda cool
