Peacock Ms. Fortune Unknown
Hello, I go by Conan and I fell in love with skullgirls when it was out on the xbox. Unfortunately, due to lack of that console, I was unable to play it until I got the pc version. Now, I play it, but I would not say that I am good at all. I have no fighting game experience, and all the controls are like reading a different language to me. However, I have learned a bit since starting.

This training diary is in hopes of getting better. Also, I hope to learn some things about Peacock, my main.

Things I have noticed about my playing style
- I tend to get myself stuck in corners...a lot. That ends up getting myself killed more than anything. I don't know how to break a combo when shoved in a corner.
- I can't block very well, I have been working on this in training, but I am slow going at it.
- I can't chain combos I am lucky to get 5-6 hits, if lucky. Of course, Argus Agony changes this.
- I depend on Argus Agony WAY too much.
- I can't perform Good Fellas when facing default.

That being said, I enjoy the game immensely and will continue to post any sort of improvement here. Thanks for the support as well guys ^^

Few things I have learned in quick matches

- I suck at breaking combos apart.
- I get grabbed way too often
- Eliza and Big band are op
- I have a harder time blocking as peacock than I do as fortune, and I am not sure why this is.
- People say I am a lower intermediate level, I don't think I believe them.

I find myself getting more frustrated in quick matches, I have no idea what I am doing at this stuff. Then again taht may just be because I get beat 49 out of 50 times...

stay out of qm, seriously, it's not worth it
if you want, i'll play a set with you.
I am quickly beginning to realize this. It is more discouraging than anything. Also, I would like to play a set sure ^^

I'll try to be free today so we can play a set. Just add me on Steam, my name's Tourna the Unlucky.

All right, so a few more quick matches and there are a few things I realize.

How does one recover? You know like bounce up after falling on the ground, on a spring like in Peacock's case?

How does once cancel? Like when firing off a grab, then shadow of impending doom, then argus agony? Is it just a skillful mash I am unaware of? Thanks ^^

From the Shoryuken Wiki:

After getting hit by a knockdown, inputting either forward or backward and any button will perform a ground recovery in the chosen direction. Characters performing a ground recovery remain invulnerable until they are standing and free to take another action. In a typical knockdown, the defending character first hits the ground with a red impact effect. Depending on the knockdown attack, the character may briefly stay on the ground or bounce before showing a blue impact effect. The blue impact effect signals the 12f window for inputting a ground recovery. In a combo, any knockdown after the first shows the blue impact effect and allows immediate ground recovery.

Cancelling is a matter of fast inputs. Grabbing and going into that super would just be holding down h.Shadow and doing the input for Argus at the same time.

Ah, I see that makes sense. I will try that out. ^^ thanks

Feeling more...confident? Is that a word, experts still wreck me, but I can actually do some damage to intermediate players...and I wreck beginners. (Then again maybe I just found a combo of characters scummy enough to win) As a beginner of the past I don't like to just wreck without teaching. Just a question from a beginner? To another beginner? (If that makes sense) If you are getting destroyed and you stop fighting, (Controller down etc) do people prefer to just get destroyed? Or would you like to learn? Personally I try to help people by blocking, attack me, practice your mix ups, etc. But maybe that is just prolonging the torture?

I also discovered I despise taunting at the end of a quick match lol then again, maybe my scummy combo deserves it? How do I fight game etiquette?

I hate you corners, I really do.

But corners protect you from a lot of cross ups (^,^)b

They do? Well I guess I should be glad for that much, I just get destroyed in them quite a bit ^^

Well if they can't get behind you because your back is against the corner, then they can't hit behind you either.
Exceptions are things like Peacocks teleport though.
