Hello! I wanted to make a thread compiling a list of players both new and old, that are passionate about playing the game. This way, new AND experienced players not acclimated with the forums or SG communities in general can see information on players that they can choose to try to contact that they are comfortable with playing with! Information listed can include and is not limited to

  • Player name(s)
  • Character(s) played (or specialized in)
  • Amount of time playing game (Since Before Vanilla [location testing], Vanilla, SDE, MDE, Encore, etc)
  • Region(s) (Can site online only if desired, but region also helps with knowing how good a connection will be when playing online)
  • Experience(s) playing game (tournament results, experiences TOing or hosting player gatherings online or offline, playing online or offline with friends in general, etc)
  • Small biography
  • Username(s) for platform(s) of choice
  • Streaming credentials
PLEASE DO NOT POST, BUT MESSAGE ME WITH THE INFORMATION YOU WANT ADDED OR CHANGED!

If anyone is unsure of the formatting they want for his or her entry, feel free to look through what others have already added.

I will also be separating each person's submission into the categories of Beginner, Intermediate, and Expert, to keep with the lobby themes in game. If you are unsure as to the placement within a category for your skill level, you may optionally list Low or High next to the category and I will add that next to your name. (Example: [Intermediate, Low] and [Expert, High])

I AM PUTTING EACH PLAYER IN THE SECTION THEY REQUEST. IF ANYONE HAS PROBLEMS WITH THE SECTION SOMEONE IS IN, MESSAGE THEM PRIVATELY (NOT ME) AS TO NOT CLUTTER UP THE THREAD.

Disclaimer: I AM NOT LIABLE FOR OTHER PEOPLE TRYING TO CONTACT ANYONE TO PLAY MATCHES EXPECTING A CERTAIN CALIBER OF EXPERIENCE AND EITHER PARTY BEING DISAPPOINTED.

I hope this is a help to people new and old looking to play other people that they did not know about!

Miss Fortune (looking to learn 2 more characters to make a team)

Time played:
47 hours on Encore, 45 on Beta - I am very much a beginner

Region:
US Southwest - Dallas/Fort Worth

Experience:
I spent most time BSing on the game with friends like BlackMorpheus and old_gus, I never really got anywhere with it. Despite not being able to combo at all, I was always able to take games off of my friends.

Small Biography:
I am just a guy from Texas that likes all types of games. I mainly play MOBAs and 4X games, but I have spent a fair share of time on the fighting game genre - MK9, Soul Calibur and UMvC3 come to mind as games I have sunk too many hours into. When I play, it is usually with friends, but I would love to practice with others so that I can improve. I am really open-minded and self improving, so feel free to criticize anytime. Hope to see y'all soon :)

Experience:
Skullgirls hours: 54; Beta hours: 174;

Small Bio:
I've always been interested in fighting games, but never invested enough to truly put time into them. I dabbled a litte into Marvel, and tried some MK9, but Skullgirls has really made me want to practice and better myself. I first played when my friend old gus told me about it. Seeing him practicing and trying to put into the community has inspired me to get involved.

Bio:
Skullgirls Legend, UNIEL Master
His story is the American story — values from the heartland, a middle-class upbringing in a strong family, hard work and education as the means of getting ahead, and the conviction that a life so blessed should be lived in service to others.

With a father from New York and a mother from New Jersey, BlaiseGod was born in $NJ$ on June 13th, 1997. He was raised with help from his grandfather, who served in Patton's army, and his grandmother, who worked her way up from the secretarial pool to middle management at a bank.

After working his way up through the murks of online play with the help of such players such as Keninblack and Sonicfox5000, BlaiseGod moved to offline tournament play, where he worked with a others to help rebuild local fighting game communities and bring hype to those around him.

BlaiseGod's years of public service are based around his unwavering belief in the ability to unite people around Gordeau's 623B and East Coast Ideals. At Cloudking's first local gathering, he passed the first major ethics reform in 25 years, cut entrance fees for working players, and brought delicious Wawa™ products to starving families. As a prominent Skullheart player, he reached to pass groundbreaking lobbying reform, lock up the world's evil Skullgirls villains, and help prevent mashing worldwide.

With your help, we can make this great player a figurehead of the FGC. #ModBlaiseGod #TYBG

Biography:
Been playing fighting games for about 4 years without really enjoying them, was kinda forced into the genre by friends due to them wanting more people to play with. After not playing fighting games for about a year since I got too bored of them I decided to try out Skullgirls after seeing a video with Mike talking about it. I do not regret that I did, because it turned out that when I picked a game to play for myself I could actually also enjoy it. So that's a short story of how and why I ended up here.

Small biography:

I've never been one for fighting games, but Skullgirls changed that. I found out about Skullgirls from a friend who had a spare beta key back during the Indiegogo days, so I put it on my laptop while I was on vacation. I really got into the game, but I never really got into the community. I existed as a lurker and would maybe play some quick matches. I wanted that to change when I realized that my favorite game was about to be finalized. My New Year's resolution for 2015 was to get involved in Skullgirls, but that was significantly stifled when I had a stroke in January. My right arm was significantly affected, which made it very difficult to play my favorite games. Ever since, I've had some recovery, but there is still a significant loss of motor function in my dominant hand. But that won't stop me, dammit! I may not be able to do all those fancy combos (for now), but I can still fight! I feel no shame in losing!

Then I picked up Double because she seemed like the next easiest character to learn after that. Same with Eliza and Fukua. Been playing fighting games casually for about 4 years now. Started with SSF4, then 3rd strike re-release came out and immediately dropped SSF4. Been playing 3S on and off since then and the same goes for GG (although im not as experienced with it). SG is what really got me to want to be competitive and ive stuck with it since day 1 despite the hassle of the 360 version and not actually having any real means to get to/host locals. This is the main reason why i havent gone beyond my current play level. Switched over to pc as soon as beta was available and have been going full online warrior status since. I havent really stuck with a team quite like i have with my current one and since pw recently got caught up with the rest in terms of experience im ready to really refine my team and push for high level play.

A ton of online and offline play

Short Bio:
I started playing fighting games in 2009 with SFII HDR with a few friends online. After that I got SSF4, followed by MVC3. I heard about SG and was excited for the game, both aesthetically and mechanically. I played it a lot semi-casually offline with friends, until SDE hit and then I took a break. Once it came out for PC (MDE) I picked up the game again and really started to play more seriously, and participate in the community more. Fast forward to now, I have improved my play tremendously, and love going to tournaments and local gatherings. I am always willing to help new or old players out, be it with the most basic tech and combos for the game, or more advance stuff! Never be afraid to contact me for questions about playing the game!

I've been playing the game ever since, and made my offline debut at SCR 2014 playing Solo Squigly on a PS1 pad. I also play Guilty Gear, Under Night In-Birth, and a bit of Vampire Savior, but none of those games give the drive to improve like SG does. I love the game to death and this is the single best game community out there.

Skullgirls is the game that REALLY got me interested in the competitive FGC scene. Made my first trip to a major thanks to it (UFGT8!), and fell in love with all the highs and lows that come with being part of the FGC.

As far as myself goes, I enjoy teaching players how to play the game at all levels. Be it answering questions about characters, demonstrating mixups and resets, finding ways to deal with setups or just playing in sets. So if anyone wants to play or ask me a question, let me know! No need to feel like I'm out of your league or anything. I'm just another Skullgirls player in the community offering to help. :)

Am I the best now? Also these seem a lot like the steam match making thread.
The Matchmaking thread is very long and unorganized. This is a way to keep a nice, tidy list people can look through to find players more easily, as well as being more detailed.

You are not an expert player.

That being said, that isn't enough reason to report FunkyHellboy's post. Keep that in mind, you three separate people who reported this...

I am saying this here and now. I am putting people in the section they request whether anyone likes it or not. This is not a power ranking thread, this is a listing of players, by the players, for people to look at and be able to find people to play when they are starting out, or to play against people they feel they can fight against to improve. The actions people carry out upon requesting the section they want is what they will get. I wrote a disclaimer for a reason. If you have a problem with what someone put to be listed under, message them about it and don't clutter up the thread, as I am trying to keep it as tidy as possible for players to look at AND keep it easy for me to update the OPs.

I want to keep with the game's theme of lobby creation. If someone wants to indicate that they are a high or low placement in the section (Example, Hilary requested Low Intermediate) I will put it next to their name before the spoiler.

I would think a better way to go about this would be to simply send WarpedEcho PMs with this information. That way the thread stays uncluttered and posters don't have to abuse the report feature to let mods know that they need a post deleted.

if that is your opinion I guess.
I'd it hurts people less then we can start pming warped.
I put expert there because I have already neat all of the top players at least once and for most others many more times.
but I don't want to continue this rebble rabble I can't can people's opinion. I can already guess who did report and sadly I can't change their feelings as well.
So again I'm only commenting this as a formality, again if you found no cause to take moderation action then why even comment about it.
kinda makes it look like you wanna start stuff, again not saying you do. But it's what it looks like.
this. Is in spoilers so not to clutter the thread with nothing important like you did. Please next time if there is an issue PM me instead of adding nothing to the thread's topic besides your opinion on others which again isn't what the thread is about is it?

Hey warped I think you might want to add a new category for the list
Competitive
for the people who go out and are active in Skullgirls tournaments.

Looks like somebody needs a kumite to prove his mettle. I'd watch that :)

when's funky kumite vs dekill

I want people to be able to read into a players skill and come to their own conclusions. I also want to try and keep this as least confusing as possible. I have already allowed sub categories to be allowed. People can read into how competitive others are by looking at what they list in their bio and/or experience. I believe that is enough. I suppose I could add it next to their name, but only if they request it, I will not be updating the OP to reflect this.

edit: In addition, please take all discussion of creating an event to the appropriate subforum. Make a thread for it. Just don't brainstorm it here.

I commented on it so that the three people who reported you for "false information" could publicly be told to stop flooding the moderator queue with dumbness! And so there wouldn't be a fourth, fifth, etc.

You also probably shouldn't take me saying "you aren't an expert" as an insult, since that's true for like 95% of the community (including myself).

Alright then I am sorry for taking your comment seriously then.
I mainly did because it is a very common thing for me to be trolled, (though I just usually ignore the issues, because I don't want to be known as a guy who spams in the mod forum or cries at the little instances) I only commented on your reply about me because you are a mod and I felt as if you were saying that I did something wrong. I understand now why you posted it and your reasoning about who an expert is, (and by that standard I am not even on my best day) thank you or clearing it up and I'm glad this did not become a big thing.
