Report Happy 3rd Birthday, Skullgirls!

By street fighter 4 standards we should be on our 28th rerelease.

God SF4 sucks
SF4 released in 2008. SF4 - SSF4 - SSF4:AE - USF4.
It's only had 4 versions and all the other gameplay updates in the middle were free :P

Whaaat.... 3 years?! Happy Birthday, Skullgirls! Lab Zero has been through so much but pulled through. This game and the team inspired me to create my own fighting game. I had some great times with this game and I am ready for more fun times. Thank you again Lab Zero!

And yet, since we didn't change the name, everyone that doesn't play it still thinks it's vanilla SG.
The curse of having all the DLC characters work in previous versions of the game. Without a clear delineation between versions everyone assumes it's still the same as the first game.

Yes, I know there's Encore, but that's still treated as a regular ol' patch. Without a point where users have to reinvest to buy the core game it's hard to see that major changes have happened. What kind of crazy person would release system upgrades they can charge for for free? If they're free they must only be minor things.

After Robo is finished, release Cyborg Fortune with regular Fortune's body and Robo's head and release the game as Skullgirls 2. Cash money.

it's very frustrating.

I know. Maybe UltraChen will help. :^P

I still think it sucks though

Well, i wouldn't go that far. If you see it as a remake of SF2, SF4 is quite good, at least initially. But if you see it as the Messiah of fighting game, then you're just misinformed and haven't played enough different fighters in the past!

We could start calling it "Encore" for short.

Like "Yo whaddup bruh lets hit up some encore?"

It sounds hip

*Sigh* Sad but true

Oh well, any other company would simply release on physical cartridge 'Skullgirls Encore : Game of the year edition' with all the DLC free(even if it already was the case), as it was proven in the past that you don't need to win a game of the year award in order to use that name...

But seriously, the Encore subtitle will officially apply on the complete version once it's out on Vita and PS4, so people will understand that it's a new version. And event like combo breaker will cement the fact that it's not the same game as before!

Another item to add to the OP list:
  • Nominated for Best Animated Video Game - The 40th Annual Annie Awards (2012)
(though Journey ended up winning, it is still quite an honor to be nominated for an Annie)

Bella's birthday is on April 11.
Cerebella, most of all, knows the Skullgirls Launch Party still hasn't stopped.
