A Complete Lie to Eliza

Aids? There's Aids that could beat Eliza

Also there's Robo-Fortune.

And Cerebella. I've beating a number of Eliza's with Cerebella.
Afk

I've noticed getting punched is her weakness. :P

Eliza's probably my best character, but I myself am only okay at the game. Keep in mind I also have some bad habits from fighting the AI too much. Also, much of my perspective is using Eliza, not fighting her, so things may be skewed accordingly.

With that said:
  • Eliza has big, bouncy hitboxes. If it looks like a move against her will hit, it probably will. Parasoul, Fortune, Fukua/Filia... If you can keep Eliza from getting a chance to catch her breath, chances are you'll kill her. Really aggressive rushdowns are terrifying.
    • I myself consistently have trouble against Double and Fukua, but I don't know if that's me or that's just Luger -> Car.
  • Some moves have weird priority. I'm still trying to figure out how to counter Beowulf's jHP (with chair)
    • Grappling is generally really good. Cerebella and Beowulf are frightening due to their heavy damage output and weird rules about what will or won't hit. Parasoul and Big Band also have some frequently utilized grabs, I've noticed. I don't fight Painwheel very often, but when I do, I generally die a quick, painful death.
  • Eliza's air grab is awesome. If you've been launched, it's probably a good time to try to counter-grab.
  • Eliza is highly versatile, but not very specialized. She has answers for everything, but not necessarily good answers.
    • For instance, good enough projectile spam can certainly lock her down. Couch/barge/Albus Grab only do so much.
  • Sekhmet: Theoretically a good counter for supers and long combos. I almost never think to use her against supers, but I really wish I did.
    • I'm almost always hit when I try to whip her out, and so I mostly just use Sekhmet for a little extra damage on an air combo or Stab -> Axe -> Recall -> Do stuff on bounce
    • This is another nifty reason for grapplers: Lots of different ways to grab the skelley.
  • For myself, all my Eliza combos start low, so that's probably a good place to block. A few blocked hits in I'll call my birdie for a high that makes you bouncy and vulnerable to my standard hits.
    • Word of warning, other Eliza's are good at utilizing her sLP to start/continue combos. This is just something I haven't picked up on yet, but it seems really useful. Likewise with her sMP mini-launcher. I have this weird mental block against moves that don't look like they should naturally flow into each other; it's probably why I have so much trouble with Double and Fukua.
    • Come to think of it, a LOT of my damage comes from taking advantage of character bounce. If you can find a way to negate that (tech rolling?), you'll probably avoid a lot of pain. Again, though, I don't know if that's just me or that's the character.
I really need to start a training diary. I mostly haven't gotten around to setting up a regular schedule and recording setup. Or Twitch. Or signing up for tourneys online. Or being able to talk to people on Steam while I play. Still, if you want to add me on Steam, here I am. I'd say I'm about a moderate level Eliza/Bella team, and pretty much a beginner at everyone else.

Better write up than sharpie which her guide includes: nekhbet.
if i didnt see her play so often i wouldve thought she was playing double since her primary objective is to:D I E
huehuehuehuehue

I've seen some cool DHC's with Nekhbet on YouTube, but otherwise I find it rather situational. More often than not I think "Oh hey that would be a cool way to end the match" and end up getting punished for being dumb. It seems to lose damage pretty quickly if comboed into, so I try to reserve it. It's pretty reliable after an airgrab, though, so there's that. The spacing's very particular, so if you see Eliza with a suspicious amount of meter and trying to upback to just the right spacing, you may want to block or send out an assist or something.

I did manage to pull off a kill with a blocked Nekhbet once, though. You get a little bit of chip thanks to it being a hit-grab. That was kinda cool.

Getting punched is her weakness...in a fighting game?

Stop with the joke threads. It would be great for everyone and new players if there was a real guide with info to learn from.
