***You can skip to where below the lines are; this is about me and a little about my problem; Un-reveal this if you want***

I'm NEW to fighting games... and I don't know what I'm doing.

I'm lesbian and I don't really 'game' besides of my favorite League of Legends, Infinite Crisis and I used to play Starcraft 2 but I have never played game so intense!! :PUN:

I don't own a PS3 or Xbox whatchamcallit so I play this on keyboard. I'm not really interested in ranked until I get better, and I do expect to get a controller for my PC this month or next month.

I also play with one of my noobie friend as well called Annerb, we usually duel eachother!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What I really need to know is 2 things... which character is really good to start off with keyboarding?!? (read above to see why I play on keyboard) If you don't want to respond you can answer using the Poll Questions!!
I really love Parasoul :PAR:! She's one of my favorites right now but I really, really, suck at her, (6th day playing this game or 5th can't remember).
What I do in battle is literally spam buttons, (like I don't even know what I'm doing), and somehow win?
But far away I will usually spam the Fire Shot thingy and the Toss too. I went on training with her against a still bot to learn some abilities and I'm still confused...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Others I have tried ; Peacock :PEA: <-- which I only spam ranged attacks, Cerebella :CER: <-- really hate her abilities and hate her aswell, Miss Fortune:FOR: <-- literally spam buttons and win everything (not talking about ranked just Single Player, Training, and Dueling my friend LOL), and finally Eliza :ELI: which I bought because she looks really cool and I sorta do okay with her except I have no idea what her abilities are.

SECOND OFF; What is the simplest way to learn/rememberize combos...? I only remember one combo, aka Parasoul's ; lk lk mk mk hp hp

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank you so much for the help if you responded to try to help! I would definitely give you a big hug and kiss!!! :PUN:
PS ; Can't get enough of this adorableness;:PUN::PUN::PUN::PUN::PUN::PUN::PUN::PUN::PUN::PUN:
I know you don't want to hear this but I would recommend Cerebella Because if you practice comand grabs in training on a keyboard it will help improve your inputs and reactions
But since you hate Cerebella I would recommend Filia because she's not heavy on grabs and doesn't have moves that requires full circle inputs like bella. Same thing goes with fortune.
Also if you want to memorize combos first look up a Bnb list for the character you want then what I do is practice the combo in sections (like first 3 hits then move on to the next section). After this I put it all together.
I find charge inputs easier to do on keyboard so parasoul is a decent character to learn for that, there should be some decent combos online but really the hard part is learning how long the charge input is and then applying it
I dont know what being lesbian has anything to do with this
Thank God somebody else said something. For a second, I thought I'd been living my whole life unaware of some inherent deficiency that lesbians have playing fighting games D:
I kinda just figured it was like,
with a name like LesbianArises maybe someone needed confirmation? I dunno.
ANYWAY,
can't speak much for keyboarding specifically but Filia's a really strong character to start off with when you don't know what you're doing, and Fukua is really well-rounded too.
Charge characters like Parasoul are tricky, if you wanna try getting good with her you gotta be dedicated. But it can be done.
Big Band is also a pretty safe character to pick up when you're first starting, but that's also gonna require you figure out how to do charge attacks.
And for this part
There really isn't one.
Sorry to say, the only real way to learn combos good is to use them over in over, sometimes that means just sitting in training mode and repeating them until you feel like you got the muscle memory down.
Fighting games are a specifically hard genre to get into. It's gonna take a while, so don't get frustrated when you can't figure things out right away.
Aside from that, best of luck to you.
Big Band is a keyboard-friendly character. No 360s, has charge moves (which IMO keyboard/hitbox players have an advantage with), and playing trumpet with keyboard is hella better than on pad.
I think it's more that their name is LesbianArises, so they're like "Hi, I'm Lesbian!"
I would like to change my name to Gay Arcana pls (no do not actually do this pls)
I think charge inputs would be more beneficial for a keyboard player, not as a con as you suggest
My advice is do yourself a favor and pick up a pad or stick, and if you like the buttons get a hitbox. It's more ergonomic and you'll actually be able to play at tournaments.
We should have a sexual orientation icon underneath the character picks :^)
