Alpha Counter + PBGC Special Move?!

While I was playing around in training mode trying to figure out alpha counters, I accidentally executed PBGC Horus Dive and an alpha counter at the same time. I'm assuming I plinked the MP + MK and got the combination. Also, I don't know if this has been discovered or if it's even viable in battle.


EDITED: Added a non-webcam video now that my Macbook Pro is up and running. Also, Fukua can do it too.

Anyone can do it, it requires 1 frame precision, and was a thing in mvc2 as well.

I'm just paraphrasing what mike said about it. I don't think its going anywhere but he could probably explain it better himself whenever he shows up.

Try PBGC Blockbuster + AC

Yeah, I was trying to pull off a blockbuster with the glitch last night before bed, but no luck. Definitely going to give it another try when I get off. I've tried everything to try and figure out how to pull it off easily, but just couldn't find a way. If someone can pull off a PBGC Blockbuster + AC, then that'll definitely be taken out.

It shouldn't work with supers, because ACs require not PP/KK/throw input whereas supers require KK/PP/throw. You might be able to do it with Raging Dragon but that's about it.

Either way, it requires exactly 1f timing, which varies based on hitstop etc, so I'm pretty sure I don't care. If it's easily fixed I'll fix it, if not it will never matter except by accident since if you mess up early you just get the AC, and if you mess up late you get a non-reversal special.
 
This used to happen to me sometimes when I did a burst ac with the lnl assist. It usually happened if there was a superflash at the same time as the burst animation.
 
when playing with this i noticed i would occasionally cancel my pbgc special into snap with the point character. this is not something you can do normally, was wondering why this happens. is it just a special case with pbgc to allow easier snaps?

Yes it is, any special that overlaps with a snap command gives you 2f to kara cancel into a snap in case you fudged the motion.
