SomeCallMeJohnny Reviews Skullgirls

maybe? i mean if we have a tutorial then they wouldn't really have an excuse on saying that they didn't know that or couldn't tell the difference between resets and bursts and all the other stuff that new comers usually get confused on. idk...
That's not what I asked.
Did this guy play the tutorials?

He did talk positively about the tutorials and I think there was a shot of them completed in the video. If he actually understood them is another matter.

We should look on the bright side though which is that this video has gotten 30k+ views in like a day and he had more good things to say than bad.

I'm glad that he's since took the time to try and understand that resets=/=infinites, but it's still depressing as hell that it's basically the way casual gamers interpret combo mechanics.

They don't realize that:
I wasn't able to do anything =/= there was nothing I could have done

Like, i didn't understand the concept of "reset" when i jumped online, but i understood what was happening to me when i saw that the enemy combo count was beginning, so i was like: oh, is not a combo, he is dropping and initiating another combo and i'm not doing anything.

I used to watch Johnny's videos but his sense of humor started to get stale, and I found myself constantly disagreeing with his personal opinions and review styles. He's been known to be the kind of guy who gets frustrated at games if they're a bit too "demanding" or something (which maybe SG was?), which is often a red flag from my own experience. He has mentioned in the past that he used to dabble in stuff like SF and MK so I was surprised he didn't have a more intimate understanding of SG.

I have yet to see a proper review of SG that really analyzes the game in depth and gives it the treatment it deserves. Casual AND hardcore FG players need to discover this game more accessibly.
