So, in an interview with Combofiend onSRK, he said that when they increased the buffer for inputs it felt like dialling a combo so they changed it. This got me wondering why people seem so averse to a "dial a combo" system. So I'm curious to see why people don't like it and if there are any major affects on gameplay other than lowering the execution barrier.

Dial A Combo seems to get a negative reaction because it makes it hard to effectively chain. Dial A Combos tend to be scenarios where the combo comes out automatically and its not free formed and can throw off timings since you input it before the actions take place instead of as you go and need things to happen. At least that's why I personally dislike them.

They also often make it impossible to react to opponent getting hit or blocking, since you have to input almost all of it before the first hit even connects.
