Unknown Peacock Cerebella
Hello I am Man0(xMan0)

I have played since this game came out on PC, so for about two years. Very un-dedicated but since I found out I live super close to worldjem I've been playing offline at least every other week. But even so motivation to get into training mode and actually learn useful stuff and refine technique happens only in a blue moon. Hopefully I will choose to stop being lazy and grind that stuff but it often feel monotonous and getting in to games feels a lot more easier

I also co-TO monthlies in the GTA area of Toronto so since it's Skullgirls related I'll also talk about that stuff here. It will probably be more interesting then what I am doing in the game.

Matches from last month's monthly

Didn't do too hot this monthly either. Scrubbed out to Heropon and worldjem, barely put up a fight.

If anyone is there to critique I would appreciate it. My technicality is super worse on PS3's because my converter is ass but I feel like the neutral mistakes I made were much more important to me losing

Although...I am considering switching away from Peacock to a new team. I don't I can think fast enough to play this character because I take to many pauses in my spam, and it lets people get in easy. Mostly, this is due to me just not knowing what I have on cooldown so I end up doing empty 5.hp's or throw out something that doesn't fit the situation like bombs when I could hold an item. Overall I think I need a character who can zone but not like peacock - probably someone who can take pauses in between shooting a proj and not have big consequences attached to it. Cerebella's fine though I like her and her ease of use. I feel like I have potential with her if I put in the work. I don't feel that way with peacock

So I'm not available to watch all of the matches, but here's some things I noticed from what I watched:

You kind of fold in pressure. You pushblock, but not really at the right times and usually if you're put in pressure most likely your opponent is going to be getting a combo. You also reversal a lot but usually don't land it, so you need to work on when to use what. In a few situations from what I've seen you could have PBGCed and used a reversal, but you didn't, so keep that in mind.

Your resets aren't the best, try to find better ones. With Cerebella the only reset I saw you do was j.LP into neutral grab, which you couldn't combo off of. You would've gotten more damage finishing the combo.

Also as Cerebella you use j.MP/j.LP a bit too much. She's got a lot of good air normals- j.MK has a lot of active and really good range, j.LK is her air-to-air with a lot of range as well, j.HP is an instant overhead against most characters and has a glide to it, and j.HK hits below her so it is useful for jump-ins.
J.LP and j.MP have their uses as well, though- j.LP is her fastest air normal, and j.MP doesn't have a hurtbox where the hitbox is, but keep in mind her other normals as well.

Maybe try out Robo-Fortune? Probably the heaviest zoner behind Peacock, and you might find her better. Her beams have a lot more active so you'll be spending less time doing inputs.

I'm not that good with pushblock and pressure in general especially when I am in the corner. Always feels like there isn't an opening where I can do something clean, and I don't know enough about the other characters to know what exactly which move is good to pushblock or not. Not sure how to improve at this really

Bella resets - I definitely have to train on since it's a big part of her game. I'll spend the next month probably learning a good few

Thanks for your info on Bella's air normals. I'll rewatch the sets to see if there were situations I could have used a better air normal rather then my default j.mp

And I'm probably going to try Robo Fortune out soon. I enjoy a lot of things about her and she would be a decent assist for Bella

Long time since I updated, but then again not much has happened since September
Took a break from Peacock to learn Double/Bella and it was frustrating because I couldn't figure out how I wanted the position and assists to be. I ended up with Double M Bomber/Bella H LnL.

It was mildly fun and it got me into resetting often. But the week before Canada Cup the time I spent away from Peacock rejuvenated my love for her, so I began to replay Team TJ. Helped that my zoning was actually keeping worldjem out for more then 10+ seconds (!!!). Soon I will learn how to convert zoning into combos, because zoning drains me so much zzz

Playing the tournament itself was super ass. Dropped inputs all over the place. I'm sick of scrubbing out of tournaments when I know I can play 200% better; so I'm switching to a PS4 pad since I know it works on PS3 and it will set me up well when the SGC transitions to PS4. Once I have the mental block of inputs out of the way I think my mentality will improve, and I will finally be able to just think about the game. I have no VODs and I really wish PC for tournies was more of a thing.

Running SG at Canada Cup was fairly pleasant. We had a nice section dedicated to our two setups that wasn't interrupted by any other tourny needing space. Getting the final seedings to the main TOs and figuring out stream time was a chore (we had to play WF off-stream, but we so could have put it on the stream) but all things considered it ran smoothly. I was especially grateful that the players were all hanging around waiting to get called, can't say the same when I was running Super Turbo haha

Tried my hand at commentating. I talk too much.
