Diamond In The Rough: Cerebella!

Hey, let's make this beautiful woman use her blood and skeleton to do things

I beg to differ on the beautiful part.

Also come to think of it most of the playable characters don't really have muscles meant for fighting. Cerebella is more acrobatic and she uses her hat do the heavy lifting, Filia and Squigly rely on their parasites, and the rest rely on Agility or weapons. So I guess its a fun breakdown of the classic Musclebob buffpants fighting game characters we usually get.

B-b-but Beo is 287 pounds of folded steel and sex appeal.

Just kidding though, he's the muscliest there.

I'd say Val would be the most reliant on items/weapons, but characters like Parasoul, Bella, Filia/Fukua and Squigly are pretty centred around their parasites or living weapons.

To be honest, design wise, what impress me about skullgirls, is how out of bounds it goes.

Hey, let's make this beautiful woman use her blood and skeleton to do things, and while she is hit, make her brain go out of her nose and her eyes pop off.

And that is with all characters somehow.

Actually I was wondering if Cerebella was "Inspired" by Mystique Sonia from Hero 108, that one really really obscure Cartoon Network cartoon that got one whole half season.

That does bring up the question of where Alex got the inspiration If he did get an inspiration) for Cerebellas design. Or he could've just went "It looks cool lets go with with that."

Sometimes is difficult to pinpoint a reference.

Maybe cerebella is inspired by 300 different things at the same time with the originality of the artist.

I've seen the model sheets, but there's no reference to an inspiration, but I did notice that she has no pupils in the drawings.

If Alex is ever at a con or tournament event, we can always ask him.

No pupils? Because she doesn't have any pupils in game her eyes are just black with no color.

I always had the weird impression Cerebella was supposed to be vaguely reminiscent of a puppy dog with big, floppy ears (for the giant hat-arms), to counter Ms. Fortune and other cat characters. "Why do I keep getting into fights with cats?"

...and I've gone into full crazy-person guessing territory, haven't I?

So what you're saying is Cerebella is a pupiless monstar?

I mean there's no black eye stuff in her eyes.

I stand corrected.

Am I the only one here that seems to think Cerebella should have more choice in clothing, besides her circus getup and similar clothing?

Alternate dimension... ;) There she is in the top center.

To join in this conversation... way back in the beginning, I read that the wiki said that Cerebella had Vice Versa since birth... and then I read that this is probably unconfirmed information or whatever.

Just throwing this idea out there, into the mix... what if the Medicis technically had ownership of Vice-Versa, and it only worked with the strong-willed/strong-minded?

Also, ever wonder how Cerebella's neck doesn't snap from Vice Versa lifting heavy objects, or how she's able to take so many hits without the use of armor? I also imagine Vice Versa to be a telekinetic antenna of a sort. It would have the ability of "tactile telekinesis", where it has telekinetic control of any objects it touches. This can easily simulate superstrength. Not only that, but there would also be a field encompassing the two of them, which provides a degree of protection, and it keeps them together, so that Vice Versa and Cerebella can act as one body.

What do you guys think?

Pretty sure it's a commonly-held belief around her that every character should have more choices in clothing. Alas, that doesn't seem to be happening in the near or far future.

Would love to see costumes like those posted, though. They be bitchin'.

I'll be glad to draw some more of that... ;)

You might want to check that other post again, with all those different costumes. The middle one has a little more info now. Just a little...

I personally like Cerebella's Default costume.

But I really do like the alternate costumes you drew.
