First Character?

I started with the character that is now Fukua, when she was still two separate characters before the game had anyone else.
I am not a good example. :^P

I started with Painwheel, I sucked really bad at first, but now I only suck a little bit. I have fun playing her though, and thats what matters so i'm gunna keep playing her.

When I first picked up Skullgirls, I really loved Painwheel's design. After playing with her for a few days I though flight canceling was way too hard. Then I played with the rest of the cast, but didn't like any of them as much as I do Painwheel. So I decided to bite the bullet and learn her. Once you get used to flight cancels, it's not too bad. Beowulf is also a lot of fun.

Started with Bella, couldn't put her down afterwards.

Bella. I think the hat just attracted me, plus I was going through a grappler phase (still am).

I started with Filia/Double duo. Filia because I hated the slow pace of SF4 and was desperate for a fast game so I grabbed the most Magneto-like character I could find, and Double because she's a cool blob monster.

Started with peacock because she's a zoner My favorite mvc2 character is Cable and she had his color too bad PW can't spawn drones

I started with Squigly because she's so cute! (tickles her chin)

That aside... Big Band was surprisingly easy to pick up. He makes a great sub who you don't really have to learn long combos for because of his insane damage output.

If any of you guys want to check him out, here's a beginner-friendly guide:

When in doubt, go filia! she's pretty straightforward, at least in her basic gameplay. Needs fast fingers sometimes, but you can still do the classic "ground string-Launch-Air string-Super" with extreme ease.

I started with Bella because when I first saw Skullgirls in action, I liked her character design and playstyle a lot.

I also really like her huge
arms

Peacock, how she was so cartoony, and had some really good zoning tools.
Cerebella, Her combos seems decent, and her command throws can lead to some damaging resests.

I started with Big Band, and now play him with Peacock.

I begun playing with Filia and Valentine. I used to be all-offense/rushdown. Though I still love the concept, I've grown to appreciate tactical approaches a bit more after playing FGs a tad more.

Love at first sight with Fukua's playstyle, so I picked her up. Double was beautifully versatile, so I indulged. Lastly, Robo-Fortune was very interesting on the Beta, so I added her on my "squad".
Squad of abominations, now that I think of it ... a haunted clone, a lovecraftian monster-blob and a "killer" robot.

When I first played Skullgirls a couple years back, my first character was Filia. Coming back to the game for 2nd Encore, I fell in love with Beowulf the moment I opened his tutorial. Just, how can one character be filled with so much awesome humor and have a great move-set all at once? My lack of familiarity with the grappler playstyle may serve as a handicap but I'm going with it anyway.

Know it doesn't say a lot because I literally started playing SG about a week ago from a more or less no video game background, but Robo-Fortune of all characters caught my eye from the start and I've been trying to git gud with her.

Otherwise, I'm playing a lot of Fillia because she was emphasized so predominantly in the tutorials, but it seems like Fukua seems to be the way to go for beginners.

Started with Parasoul, moved to Valentine, then Valentine & Peacock. Squigly & Valentine, then Big Band & Parasoul. Parasoul & Filia is my current team.

OOOOH, the main reason I got into this game was Circus Bitch. <3
As I progressed, my interest in characters went from Cerebella to Parasoul to Squigly to Double.

My first character that I learned was Valentine 'cause cutting people up into bits with a bonesaw is fun. Once I became more attuned to Skullgirls, I started to play more Eliza and crafted my team of Para/Val/Eliza (inspired). Currently learning Eliza/Cerebella because I am kinda interested in playing a clown grappler.

I think I started on Bella. Strong hits, and specials that reward paying attention to spacing. I know I used to play Bella/Peacock/Ms. Fortune when I first picked up the game. I liked making the red color schemes match...

I started with Filia all thanks to Zone's flash, then i had a hard time finding out who i wanted to main, but ended up maining Squigly for a while, now i'm mostly about Eliza, Bella and Beowulf, however i still play Squigly sometimes just for the nostalgic feeling.

whhhhhhhhy

Big Band since he was the most interesting and was free

Mine was Big Band, this was kinda my first fighting game and I always stuck to heavy characters
