I know it took me a while before figuring out how exactly Filia player where able to do those.
(One of my friends had to tell flat out lol)

So I made this small tutorial to help new Filia player understand
how to do this really deadly trick of hers!

What do you think?
Did I cover my bases, Left something out?
Any feedback would be appreciated =)

Edit: It's the same but new video,
Just fixed a mistake I made that @Ninja pointed out =)

hop?

you mean instant air dashing.

I say this cause Hopping is very much different than Instant Air Dashes in Fighting Games. Beowulf's forward dash is a hop, so is Val's back dash where it places you in the air for a very very brief period of time, where as instant air dashing can put you in the air for an extended period of time and can be used to cross up the opponent.

other than that it's a good video to show to beginners.

Oh, well snap.
I thought the two where one in the same.
(I know that's gonna make at least one person mad =P)
I'll see what I can do to fix that, Thanks for the heads up man =)

I am pretty new to Skullgirls and fighting games in general and found this video very helpful. Now I just got to hit the practice room and get this air dash thing on lock.

@Notkastar

Yeah short hop is 100% not the thing to call it.
A hop is a jump, and a short hop is a shallower jump... but you can't adjust jump height :P

Is it okay if I rename this to "A Quick Tutorial On Filia's Instant Air Dashes (IAD's)"

Here's a few notes:

0:20 It's not just LP+MP, any combination of two punches will give you a dash, and you don't have to jump at the same time, it's atually better to jump first and dash immediately after because you have a couple frames to still get the lowest air dash possible, but if you dash a single frame before jumping you won't get an airdash.

0:37 I'm not sure what you mean with this? You're going from the j.lk directly into a grab so I think you meant mix-up instead of reset? Even then, wouldn't the mix-up in that scenario just be the instand overhead with j.lk? But then you also don't do j.hk after j.lk to be able to confirm so I'm just lost on what you mean...

0:45 Here it looks like you want to showcase the mix-up, but you open up the opponent with the overhead and then immediately goes for a grab?

1:00 DON'T DO THIS. pls don't try to use an iad as a reversal out of the corner, you'll just get hit unless you get REALLY lucky or the opponent is REALLY bad...

1:29 I'm sure it's just a typo, but j.hk*, not j.hp.

2:04 I still don't know what you mean with iad j.lk into grab as a "light start", you should point out that j.lk > j.hk is a very fast overhead (one of the fastest in the game!). Also when you say "Has a quick recover so great to Restart with!" I also have no idea what you mean, or why 'Restart' is capitalized...

2:23 That's not really wrong, but this doesn't really sit right with me, it doesn't really "take time", as I said before it's one of the fastest overheads in the game, so people won't be punishing it on reaction, any character with an airdash SHOULD use it a LOT, especially filia.

2:38 "And versus an Invisable[...]" invincible*? You probably just want to use "reversal" here instead, and no need to capitalize it...

2:53 Wording is just weird here, and again, filia SHOULD be using iads a lot, just as it is with any approach, be careful and try to not be predictable.

Whoa, That is quite the list. | _ |;

I'll see if I clear some of those up

LP+MP is just the most practical for me.

Wrong terminology is all, Just a simple slip on the tongue ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
and because most people don't see that coming after an overhead like that (At least none of the people I fought)

Wait That's Wrong! (sort of)
(Sorry, I've been dying to use that meme)
True the move is punishable but if you fight a player that loves to go low and for the feet that move is gold!
I forgot to add that that was situational but till it's a really good choice against player like! =)

I was only talking about doing a light move by it's self and landing. It has a quick recover on both ends so you can grab on the spot. (Sorta like what fukua can do with her J.HK)

It fast but it take time if that make sense, Takes time in the sense that the other player has time to call an assist, run under you and pick up from there.

1:29, 2:38 and 2:53
Dyslexia is a real pain to live with.
I can check it a million times and still miss that one thing I just can't notice at the time ~ ~)
(Haves me doing Zappa poses every time I notice one ~ u ~)

Edit:
"Though you do make some really valid points, I'll see about making more solid combos in the future but there's not much I can do about the spelling since it's just me working on these."

Wasn't sure if I implied that clear enough in all that up there so just in case so there no confusion =)
