Indivisible: Lab Zero's Action-RPG! (General Discussion)

if the relationship is supposed to be developing due to other, more specific things, I'd rather they just be written in and played out for me
This.

It's why I like Persona 3 over 4 in this regard. A lot of your buddy's develop and grow as characters outside of just their defining moment and you don't have to grind a social link just to get more character development or their ultimate persona. Yeah sure you can date the girls, but that's a different scenario. That just gets more backstory or builds that relationship past the good friends.

Having all those cool side stories for the social links be put onto your party members also felt lazy when a lot of the best moments of Persona 3 WERE some of the other social links.

On the other hand, developing side relationships with unimportant characters like the social link system is fine imo. It allows you to experience a lot of stories that wouldn't otherwise fit, and gives a deeper grasp of the universe, even if the in-game system is built so you can't do all of them in one playthrough.

There's no way this film would flop! Right?

Danny Devito as Roti

With all seriousness, Vincent Ward would be a good choice to direct a Indivisible movie base of this movie:

What Dreams May Come

A great visually beautiful movie.
Also the ending make sense once again.

UPDATE

Hey, Indivisible backers!

In one of our most recent updates, we gave you a look at Fortress Vimana and some of the environment concepts we’ve produced to nail down that area’s aesthetic. Now we’d like to show you some of the enemies that’ll be roaming the fortress’ halls.

The soldier with the blade and shield is called a Paidal, and the robed figure is called an Oont. Here are a few concept sketches for both.

The Katar (floating blade + shield enemy) and Haathi (levitating head statue) serve as sentries in the fortress. Check out a few sketches of move and behavior concepts for them below.

Fortress Vimana belongs to a violent zealot known as Lord Ravannavar. We won’t share how he fits into the story quite yet, but we wanted to give everyone a glimpse of him.

Of course, these are all just concepts, and the final attacks may change, but hopefully it gives you a clearer idea of what the enemies in Fortress Vimana will be capable of!

Is that Alpha Q?

Wow, it's Alpha Trion and a Quintesson! These guys look tough!

I'm especially liking the concepts for the Katar. It's neat how those blades seem to be able to either aid the soldiers directly, or just attack on their own. Peter said that Ajna might reach Vimana pretty early, so I wonder how our first interaction with these guys will go.

Pretty sure Lord Ravannavar is based off of Ravana, the big baddie from the ramayana an evil king with 10 heads. I remember having to make a Ravana shadow puppet back in primary school. I think Alex mentioned before that Naga Rider was meant to be a re imagining of a Ramayana character as well? I also think that we can see Ravannavar's 10-headed form in the trailer when it pans up to Kala.

Peter said that Ajna might reach Vimana pretty early, so I wonder how our first interaction with these guys will go.

I think Ravannavar will be the main boss of the Southern region, which we will probably beat first in the story since Ajna starts there.

Or it could be like the Black Omen, where the player visits multiple times throughout the game.

I bet inside he really just wants to give you an unnecesarily violent hug.

He reminds me a bit of a bug tbh...or more bug styled exoskeleton armor. Its probably his height and those antennae.

Will indivisible even have time travel to pull something like the black Omen? Then again if it did they most likely wouldn't tell us now unless it was a main focus like chrono trigger.

Though the idea of a dungeon changing multiple times when you visit through the story is pretty cool.

Ravannavar is partnered with Kala though, so that would seemingly make him the second biggest threat that we know about so far. Hard to imagine Ajna being able to match him so quickly, especially since we know she starts out very weak in her Iddhi training. She'll also likely be bringing a still very reluctant Dhar in tow, a possible security risk.

Right now, I'm thinking Norfair. We might make it through the front door no prob, but if we try going downstairs right away, we're gettin' whooped on.

I only meant that we might visit it multiple times. We're already inter-dimensional, though, so time travel wouldn't be the craziest thing to happen ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Agreed. If we're there early, I think it's gonna be for the, "Ajna gets punted into a ditch," scene.

see here I thought I was up on Indivisble's currently known lore and story but this post proves I know jackshite

The paidal looks like he's gonna be awesome. At first glance I thought he was gonna be your standard mook but that ally summon made him interesting.

nice
these guys remind me of Aladdin cartoon
We have a dancing genie with the Shantae cameo now all we need are some magic carpets.

Holy crap, that man is gonna wipe the floor with us dozens of times over...just look at him.

Also, I like how my hunch about that it's his face on the front of the fortress had turned out to be correct. Guy's got an ego and an AMAZING beard.

Location-specific wouldn't happen, that's a pain to implement also! :^P
So nothing like in Tales of Symhonia?

For those who didn't play it, there were specific points on the map that, when near, would trigger specific skits. It wouldn't be specific to the party, but if you had specific characters, it would trigger a funny exchange. They weren't all meaningless, many of them helped to build up the world, the characters, or expand on lore that didn't neatly fit into the story.

Didn't FF8 have something similar to that, too?

I kinda liked those.

Just wandering around, grinding levels or buying shit in town, and then suddenly you can press a button to see your characters do stupid things.

I think it'd actually fit a Metroidvania a lot better, consider these skits another type of collectible to hunt for all over the map.

Neat. A villain, at least I think he is, with a palindromic name:PUJNA:
The sentries look pretty interesting, and look to be a challenge if you're not careful enough. Also PSYCHO CRUSHER

Let see:
Vimana in Hidnu mythologynis a flying palace and of course its lord is Ravana.
However, the interesting thing is his name in the game he have. Ravannavar.
Did you notice?
It is the name "Ravan" WRITTEN TWO TIMES. One normaly and then backward at the end.
Ravannavar.

So nothing like in Tales of Symhonia?

I think this was in reference less to things like Skit Portraits, which usually all trigger the first time you go through an area (or do a certain thing, but most of them are just area based), and more like how Tales of Handles a lot of it's Side-Quests where it's BOTH timing/trigger specific (you needed to have already talked to X, this cutscene only happens before/after X happens) on top of being location specific. Though I guess if it's a metroidvania where the player can choose which areas to go through they want in order, that'd be a little less relevant.

I can't wait to see more of Tenoch and his home, Ixtapoala. I do wonder if Ajna and company are going to have physical gods, considering that Mesoamerican cultures have tons of gods, although it would be wonderful to see local monsters like the Nahual (think of a shape shifter) and even La Llorona, the famous Mexican equivalent of the Irish banshee.

Well we have the goddess from space that left that crater full of the magic milk, so I woudlnt be surprised If we got other extraterrestrial creatures as well as mythic Gods. They've created this with so many options that could work outside of just straight fantasy it's a bit mind boggling when you look at it super close.

El Chuparodney!
yes I know that's Spanish and Ixtapoala is based on pre-Spaniard Mexico and also that El Chupacabra is Puerto Rican it's just a joke take it easy

El Chuparodney!
So that's why Rotti never waits, it's actually running away from El Chupa-Tapires!

Itching to use BackerKit to upgrade my pledge, the occasional "splurge" on other media *cough*Journal3*cough* is too much to handle >.>;;

Just a reminder: Ravannavar rules the area where Ajna's village is situated. He sent his general Dhar to destroy the village killing her father in the process. So Ajna's quest basically starts with seeking revenge on Ravannavar. Looks plausible for him to be one of the first targets.

Really? I thought he was Kala's top enforcer, wouldn't his other 3 "elite generals" (Dhar was the fourth) as i think they were called, come first? I hope one is female...
