Given my recent fall back into World of Warcraft (Just for a month though) with Warlords of Draenor, I decided to see if there were any Warcraft threads.
To my shock and dismay, there were none, so I took it upon myself to make a thread for this franchise that has been an influential part of my life, way back to Warcraft II

What's Warcraft? Long story short, it's a huge fantasy setting mishmash with almost everything you can name under the kitchen sink, but there's almost always two opposing factions, The Alliance, a proud group composed of Humans, Dwarves, and Elves (And later more), and the (Orcish) Horde, which is generally more a savage army of essentially aliens from the neighboring world of Draenor, though later, they also formed a more noble and honorable group with other races from Azeroth (the setting of the game)
That's just the start, there is a whole whole whole whole whole more load of shit I could mention about Warcraft, but that's just the gist of it

Warcraft exists as both a series of RTS games, but is perhaps more wildly known as the MMO World of Warcraft, which got it's most recent expansion, Warlords of Draenor just last year, and Blizzard plans to have as many as 5-6 more! So that MMOs gonna be here for a while longer

So basically, just talk about anything Warcraft here, be it lore, what race is your favorite, who you think shouldn't have died, or more general talk about the RTS, or probably World of Warcraft? Goes here.

Favorite Race has, and always will be the Orcs though.
For the Horde!

Note: Take talk of Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft to this thread!

warcraft 3 was great, loved the storyline especially the Frozen Throne expansion.
I was kinda competitive with it, mained Human mostly because i loved the early game fast-expo and militia creeping, and playing like an annoying bastard with tower turtling and siege tanks.

played a shit-ton of WoW back in Vanilla, and burning crusade, I was in a really great guild in vanilla and pretty much played 24/7 during one summer. When TBC came out i literally played for 5 days straight with 1-2 hours of sleep each night because i wanted to be the first lvl 70 mage on our server.. yeah i was that guy
Ended up quitting because the game changed in ways to where me and my friends didn't enjoy it any more.

I loved Warcraft 3 too, I was so excited for it when I was young Jutsei, and it was very much worth the wait, favorite gameplaywise was Undead because young Jutsei was a little edgelord, but the Orcs were still my favorite lorewise because of their 180 from villainy to savage but good guys.

I've been with WoW since roughly 2005, I only really stopped playing in the downtime between Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor, and that's because I needed to start saving money for various consoles. I was VERY MUCH not a fan of Vanilla or BC though, due in part to the insane dedication you needed. Though, I can see why people felt it was the best, I just felt it was very restrictive and gatey (Attunement, anyone?)

I truly felt Wrath was when WoW started being something I felt I was getting my money's worth with, since I didn't HAVE To go all the way up to Raiding (In it for the story baby)
Cataclysm wasn't that bad to me, Mists of Pandaria ended up becoming my favorite expansion, and WoD is nice, I just feel it's an anime filler arc

I am looking forward to whatever Blizzard whips up next for their next xpac...
...
So long as they ditch the plans to have annual expansions, that's a terrible idea, go back to MoP pacing!

Warcraft III forever.

I mostly main Undead and maybe Naga if only it was an official playable race. (I usually try to go a slower expo route though.)

Also I especially love the custom maps. My favorites either have to be Island Defense, Dark Deeds, or Elemental TD. (Not the newer version since those messed up the formula.)

Love the lore until Warctaft 3. Hard to follow after that

What i didn't like was how the pvp changed and everyone became so tanky. I liked the fast paced, glass cannon pvp of vanilla.
Also hated how they completely separated pvp and pve gear, splitting the community.

Really? Because I'm fine with that.
I like being on PVP Servers for the sense of thrills, but I'd rather have PVE Gear and PVP gear be separated. But alright, that's a discussion for somewhere else

Ok, listen, Mists of Pandaria is my favorite expansion, tied only with Wrath
Way back when I was getting excited about Warcraft 3, I read about how there was going to be a Panda race, I was so happy because Giant Pandas are my favorite animal.
JUST AN APRIL FOOL'S JOKE
Then they made Pandaren Brewmasters in Frozen Throne and all was forgiven.
Pandaria was mentioned a few times (and Chen) a few times, but I was certain we'd never make it there because I'm sure the Warcraft community wouldn't handle it
2012, it fucking happened.

And it was the most beautiful, creative, and fun expansion yet.
The setting was great, everything in it well thought out and just great to look at, it was surprisingly mature (Find Peace Within Yourself so you can share it with those around you, words to live by), and it let me finally directly PLAY the Pandaren I was so happy about 10 years prior.
NOT TO MENTION THE MUSIC
THE MUSICCCCCCC

Mists of Pandaria was a very magical experience to me, and I'm glad people are oddly nostalgic for it now, but for me, it was always magical.

Wowee Zowee, I legitimately forgot I made this thread. So I'm on a high because of Warcraft Chronicle and getting back to WoW
Legion launches next week, Warcraft Chronicle Vol 2 releases in March next year, and a bunch of other neat stuff
