Indivisible: Lab Zero's Action-RPG! (General Discussion)

So at some point are we going to get a peek at how you guys develop the soundtrack? I'd love to see another interview with Kikuta in his studio like you guys had with Yamane years ago.

That would be fantastic, just like CD PROJEKT RED did recently with The Witcher 3.

Such a beautiful soundtrack.

Yeah you need more Indvisible characters besides Juan.

There can be only Juan!

Has anybody asked about getting enemies to fight each other? Is there any precedent in Metroids/JRPG's, or is that mostly just a thing in shooters?

well theres "charm" enemies attack that a lot of JRPG's have. but honestly I'm not sure if that would work in a game like this.

Oh yeah, Charm, Berserk, Confuse... I'd forgotten about these. And, since everything has hit and hurtboxes, it might be easier to implement in Indiv than other games. And given the use of magic and music-based characters...

FF13 did that pretty often, was pretty neat, and usually those encounters were hard to skip on the main map too which makes sense (given twice the enemies + them actively doing something).

So...not much to talk about on the Indivisible side lately I guess.

Reminder that we're getting close to the one year anniversary of one of the roughest first days ever in crowdfunding. Where were you when Indivisible was doomed?

It's still wild to look back on. I looked at the Wayback links a while ago and it was just a stark reminder of how far things needed to go. Only, what...$150k, hardly any press, and a grayscale of Dhar with no bio. All those feelings are still buried in this thread too. When you flip back, the internet has this crazy ability to make you feel like you were still in the moment.

But I think that's what makes knowing the end of the story feel even better!

We all played our parts too in getting the word out. It isn't just LabZero, but everyone as a whole that worked together in helping this baby come to light ^_^

Any advice for thinking up a custom Ajna palette at the $30+ tier?

LabZero is making the bonus palettes, so they won't be custom. Feel free to throw some of your ideas up in the Ideas thread for funsies though.

If you paid for the palettes tier then you don't get to design custom palettes, you get access to backer exclusive palettes.

I wonder if we could make a documentary on the crowdfunding for this game.

Uhhh probably not...I mean nothing "important" happened during crowdfunding. Just the regular gamble that every crowd funded project faces.

I'd argue LZ's continued existence is important, but no, there is nothing really to make a documentary about.

I'm just surprised that Mysterious Anime Studio still hasn't given the go for a name release. It's been nearly a year, and the Slacker Backer period could run out before they allow LZ to say who they are.

Yeah no documentary pls.

On another note, status report on development?

It's being developed.

They've already shared a lot of their challenges so far. If you go back through all of the past interviews with the team, you do kinda end up with a documentary's worth of material. I suppose some of those experiences could be collected into a Behind the Scenes featurette, like what WD did for Lunar SSSC, but that's up to them.

As far as "importance", I do think the campaign marked an important time when people were getting very skeptical of crowdfunding in general. We're still watching how that attitude plays out as these projects move along in development though.

LabZero's arrangement with 505 is also pretty progressive. There's definitely a lot of shifting in the industry right now, where games like Indivisible could prove to be positive examples. It'll be cool to see if they spark a trend.

HAS the backerkit thing happened yet? I'm po right now but I need that physical copy and sunlight can nourish me in the meantime.

somewhere recent they did say they might be able to tell us what the anime studio is. I think they was going to wait for som'in major to announce or som'in.. I don't recall the post very well...

Don't make me post my beans and rice recipe! :P

Any Indiv news would be welcome; I'm a little concerned SG Mobile is taking up the team's time, and hope they're being compensated accordingly. I'm also worried about Mariel burning out, she's been really, really busy lately.

Also, because I'm weird, I'd love to hear little business details anyway.

But they're not making SG mobile, Hidden Variable is. and I highly doubt some intro animations would put indivisible on an absolute halt.

Actually, that sounds a lot better than what I thought it would be! (Sorry for the late reply)

Been a while since an indiegogo update. Hope there's something interesting to show off soon.

Is the game still in its pre-production phase??

Speaking of which, 2 days ago we hit 1 year since the IndieGoGo for Indivisible started. Time sure does fly.

Sink in all those memories of dread at the terrible start of the campaign. :P

I only remember sinking all that cash on the campaign at the word "go."
