Street Fighter V

And it's already gone.

Glad everything's working now. Got to try out the daily challenges a bit. Later, gotta try out Urien!
Did your mean Weekly challenges?

I feel kind of sad that people won't really.. react to this as violently as anything else. The fact they'll just actually embed malware into their game and my computer because they refuse to use Valve's Anti-Cheat system is insane.

If they can get away with this, what else can they get away with? It's not like the following update removes the file they create, since it's also got an auto-generated name ( how does it remember? is it stored in your save data? )

How does this game get panned so hard and still have a fan-base willing to deal?

People reacted to it, alright.
They wouldn't have removed it if there wasn't this big of a reaction, I don't think.

Anyone having a hard time downloading the PS4 update? For some reason the PS4 is telling me the update will finish downloading in 20 hours.

I think that might be a personal thing. Maybe cancel the download and manually start an update again? How far is the download?

It got resolved. I ignored it for a couple of hours, came back and it was fully downloaded.

It's a matter of how much they can get away with. As far as I know, following updates don't get rid of the malware-infected driver, no?

I mean the game is not using it anymore, but it seems to be true that you have to actually remove it manually, if you downloaded it.

The update deactivated the driver but you still need to remove it manually. I removed the driver before the fix went live and I didn't get it back.

So... how does that file being installed make a computer less secure?

Yes. It creates a backdoor to your PC Kernel and gives unauthorized access to everything on your PC. Get rid of it if you have it.

I wouldn't be surprised if it could be activated by a different program if it's still there. Best remove it just to be safe.

What you guys think about the game selling basically nothing between July and October?

Not really suprising considering the game started with a pretty monumental marketing failure, with how little content for more casual players there was.

By the time Capcom fixed it, people forgot about the game.

I hated how the game was released. It got much better when more content came out, but it doesn't help to draw people in starting with an incomplete game and having to either buy locked content or work through x amount of objectives to unlock stuff.

It is a great game, but I suspect people wanted more available content from the start.

Reminder that Capcom announced a Linux port and said it would be out in spring.

Reminder that not only is it November with no port, they still haven't even said anything to even acknowledge the delay or confirm whether or not it's still happening at all.

They also promised Direct Input. I wouldn't hold my breath.

The game is practically nonexistent now to Joe gamer. Whoever thought it was a good idea to release the game like that was on drugs to assume consumers would stick around several months after the release for any theoretical improvements. This game failed to to even execute the LoL or even the KI3 model.

One obvious flaw was releasing the game at $60 with barely anything without any FTP equivalent package that other fighters did.

Another was boasting how the game was made to being easier to access by joe gamers, but failed to think to include content that would attract and retain Joe gamers. In the end you please no one from the hard cores that the game got too dumbed down to the joes that says there is nothing to do.

SFV is the Xbox One [irony not intended since not on platform although on hindsight maybe they should have included it since PC version didn't exactly sell a lot] of fighters this generation where a really botched up launch pretty much ruled out any chance of recovery. The whole 'we will release now but the content will come months later for 'free' was a terrible move because gamers in general have a short attention span. They would have already moved on to the next hit thing while SFV continues to become less and less mainstream relevant.

The game died for me when the DLC characters weren't free as well as my anticipation for future character releases.

Gorgeous stage. I hope they give him this design though. As a costume at the very least.

Apparently it's SHIN Akuma because of the kanji on his back. Or maybe it's just his V-Trigger. Either way I'm looking forward to the sick Akuma Necalli matchups.

what? you were waiting for Gouki? really?

i'm surprised that he's coming this damn late to the game. no for real... I would have expected him as some kind of teased hidden boss thing in the Survival Mode when the Story DLC landed a while back. But nope... now he comes...

what ever if this is Capcom's last ditch effort to get people playing this game... then it's going to work, cause there are a ton of Gouki Fans. Just hope they don't get suckered into only to have their character fiddled with in a way that takes him away from his traditional playstyle.

I can bet him and stage is going to be behind a 5 dollar dlc wall. [or whatever the fuck many points it is for a DLC character and stage is in the game...]

Another Shoto is not the missing formula to breath more life into this game even if it's a popular one. Roster wasn't even a key issue if it was an issue to begin with. Hopefully for the game sake there are some badly needed fixes/improvement for the game as a whole coming this way too sooner rather then later.

Honestly as much as people complained and hate that idea and want it gone, some kind of Super Street Fighter V would probably have the best chance to revitalise the game.

It will happen at some point, like KI did the definitive edition.
That's way too early to do something like this though, or a lot of things would have to be addressed...

Well I saw a lot of people complaining about the initial roster and demanding Akuma, Sagat, Sakura, etc... The game needs more, I agree, but Akuma will surely help (even if it's just a bit).

So Ono implied that the Akuma video is not an SFV character trailer.

But it's Ono, so who the fuck knows? A lot of people now think it's a Marvel 4 teaser, but since they said "playable" at PSX that doesn't seem right to me. Guess we'll see on Saturday.

Ono is a master-level troll, don't believe what he says.
Seriously though, I hope it's Akuma because I want a reason to get SF V
