Nintendo Switch

Is there any point in Splatoon 2 if there's no Memeverse to go with it?

Yeah, I thought Miiverse was really fun, if they're charging for Onlinenow you'd think they'd keep that and improve it
But who knows, MAYBE it'll come back.
...
Maybe, 3DS got Miiverse eventually

Yes but, consider this: it worked for Steven Universe.
Yeah but once you get that third bird mom she tends to nearly be the direct cause of you dying every second week and never apologizes. And for some reason all the other moms you could have flock to a barn and make everything feel disjointed.

Yeah but anyway I'm really glad the Switch can go up to 6 hours? I was really worried cause that was really the dealbreaker for me if I was ever going to get one. And I'm sure you can turn off wireless functions and other stuff to make it last as long as possible for those three hour ones so cool

ARMS CAN BE PLAYED WITHOUT MOTION CONTROLS AND HAS AIR DASHES.

ESPORTS NOW. EVO. FOREVER.

Where are you hearing this? Because I need proof of this being true so I can use it against the haters of this game. (coughRichofReviewTechTVcough)

Suda stated in an interview he is writing AND directing the new No More Heroes game, so now I can actually be completely excited. It's been 10 long years of him not making anything, hopefully this is just the start.

Instead of having some sort of bulky gamer headset, you’ll be able to do it right off your smartphone, put in your earbuds that you use for your standard mobile device. We think that’s a pretty sweet solution. That’s part of the overall opportunity that we see in a subscription service.
I already pay my cell phone provider a subscription fee to use my phone for voice communication so I guess the opportunity he's excited about is literally charging people money for nothing.

Seriously, PR is supposed to be his job, he literally just provided an argument against himself by saying "oh you can plug ear buds into your phone", implying you can't the Switch. Why not? I can do it on PS4. Sony doesn't charge me money for voice chat either.

If I'm going to use my phone to chat why wouldn't I use any free app like Skype or Discord?

Seriously, if you're going to be this out of touch you should at least not brag about it.

Well I've been thinking about the 2 downsides to the Switch and I have my doubts.

1st. The Pay to Internet. It stinks to pay for the internet, yes. But, BUT IF it increases the actual quality of Nintendo's internet I'd be somewhat cool with it. Don't get me wrong the connection on Wii U with certain games was pretty good, like with Mario Kart and Splatoon sorta. But if you or anyone your playing with less than good connection speed in Smash it becomes a 4 frames per second unplayable mess. The free game a month, but for that month, stinks sorta. I mean it's a free game but both competitors do a subscription thing better than what they're describing here (well Sony at least idk/idc xbone) and the prices for virtual console games are crazy in comparison to that of PSN. Like I could get the original Mario Bros. or even MB3 for $5 and play it for like 30 minutes and then not touch it ever again. Or I could get MediEvil for $5.99 and get a good 6 to 8 hours and get deeper experience from it. BUT rumor has it that they might be able to get Gamecube games with multiplayer to play online, but I heard that rumor with the 3DS and Wii U so I'm not holding my breath for that to be true. BUT IF Nintendo starts charging for internet and increases their service, and re-evaluate the Virtual Console Prices it might not be as bad as people say.

2nd. The Phone App Voice Chat. I'm not upset about this at all to be honest. Would it be better to have it native to the Switch, probably. But honestly if I could do this stuff from my phone on PS4 or more easily on steam I'd use that over the main interface, just because it would mean less tapping out of stuff to do stuff. Though if it doesn't have a lobby system for games your playing, like Splatoon, it would be pretty trash.

in case you were wondering how this thing fit in your back pocket, the answer is an unsurprising not very good

I never put things in my backpocket anyway. It would be like trying to put an iPad there.

Well for a console marketed for being a hybrid portable handheld/home console, it's not very good at the portable part.

It's more about "being able to put it in a backpack easily". You can't do that with a PS4 for sure.

Still, it isn't small.

Good enough for a backpack. No complaints in that regard. You'd need the extra space for a battery anyway

I'm perfectly fine with how portable it is, honestly, just wish the battery was better.

It'll probably work better too if you remove the controllers come to think of it

why the fuck would you put a 300 dollar piece of hardware in your back pocket anyway.

shit like pamphlets and maps go in your back pocket. keep the important stuff up front so it's less likely to be stolen.

So I have a question, I keep seeing that Joy-cons have IR functionality.

Does this mean we could get Wii games on the Switch and use them for that?

That's with the joycons attached though. And I always keep my 3DS in my front pocket. Can I fit the tablet in one pocket and joycons in another?

A small little leak ont he Switch's UI. Confirmed indie games are 1001 spikes, Binding of Issac Afterbirth+, and Hydra Castle Labyrinth

that is a fine-ass UI oh my god

it's so sleek and minimalist

I'm going to wait until we get details on that Cave Story port before being happy about it. They can keep that 3D shit.

I hope we get cool custom themes like 3DS and PS4

This just in: Someone got their dirty mitts on a switch system.

Wii U had a big day 1 patch as well.
