Marvel vs Capcom Infinite

Maybe the moral of the story is that the kinda-sorta more realistic look is ill fitting to more cartoony designed characters

Which, sure, pretty much eliminates each and every single character ever to star in a marvel vs capcom videogame, but you know. Ultron's pretty cool

i find it funny actually.

They're using the comic book version of Ultron and not the movie version of him.

james spader is probably too expensive for their budget anyways

it's an original design that uses both comics and movie designs, as are the rest of the characters

makes me wonder how Marvel would redesign the Capcom characters

if chris is anything to go by, they won't

I just miss his MVC3 voice. It was really good imo.

only Guardians could get away with Marvel actually admitting to movie tie ins and shamless plugging and it still be funny

And they said assists are dead
just lookit Ultron, he's got assists for days
Sabertooth had assists before Marvel made them cool.

Man, I just wonder what the mandate on Fantastic Four is, lately, I've been following news on this ARPG + MMO + Diablo game called Marvel Heroes (being released on PS4/xbox this month), it's been on PC Since 2013, and has all of the Fantastic Four (plus Silver Surfer and Doctor Doom), the PS4 version of the game hits, and has 38 Heroes (compared to 63 right now), but noticeably, has NONE of the Fantastic Four, or Doom and Silver Surfer.
Not only that, but any references to the Fantastic Four have been removed, quotes from Reed Richards are gone, the insignia is gone, and even some bosses like Mole Dude are gone.
They've been completely removed or ignored in the Console version of the game, but Doctor Doom is still there because Doom's Will is his own

I'm fairly certain Fantastic Four has no chance of being referenced in the game, but Doctor Doom might still happen, as well as Silver Surfer since they have identities outside of the Four

In MCU, they passed all relevance of Mr. fantastic to Iron Man and Hulk
The thing overlaps with hulk in the "break everything" scenes
Human torch and invisible woman are cool, though. But since this game is focused on what worked on MCU (and related) and Fantastic 4 movies aren't exactly praised, i doubt they'll arrive.

Doom is Mahvel's spirit animal, though, so he stays

Silver Surfer and Galactus, while originating in Fantastic Four, I think also might have a chance. They were more the first foray into cosmic related stuff in Marvel.

Remember when this same exact scenario was feared to be happening with Spider-Man in 3

but then all it was, was Capcom keeping Spidey secret until TGS?

yeah, this whole X-Ban sounds like a crock of shit

Like cyclops on marvel 3

Well, unlike then, the current CEO is actively starving the masses of Fantastic Four properties to cause Fox's movies to do poorer, I read a post that any Marvel Game After Contest of Champions simply isn't allowed to add anyone from X-men or Fantastic Four.
Things might've changed since then, since X-Men is doing better, but Fantastic Four looks to be high n' dry

If that is actually the case I will point out that FOX most definitely does have the movie rights for both Silver Surfer and Galactus.

I'm not saying that means anything, just that it's the case. Source being Marvel offered Fox the rights to Daredevil in exchange for Galactus and Silver Surfer. This was in like 2012, before the show, obviously.

I saw something about a leak
- 28 character launch roster, I know all of them but 1 for sure and I think I might know who the last one is.
- No Ace Attorney, Viewtiful Joe, Final Fight or Okami characters. No Ms. Marvel, no X-Men or F4 to speak of.
- Of the remaining cast there's one returning MvC2 character, nine characters coming back from 3 (ten if the last character is who I think it is) and only four more newcomers.
- I know of one DLC character besides Sigma and he's coming back from MvC2, not sure if he's scheduled for this year or next year.
tl;dr dissappointnent

Full roster from Ryce, who has been aces before with leaks

I'm overjoyed my big lumbering son managed to beat the odds and get in over Wesker or god forbid one of those hillbillies from RE7

Jedah? I'll fucking take that. I'm still not sold on the actual game itself though.

Remember we still got some post launch characters with Sigma down the line

including the first wave of DLC, we have 34 characters
that's pretty pathetic, tbh

two of my low tier babbies being back brings me life, but yeesh
killing Nick and Joe like that just hurts the soul

I prefer it being 2v2, that means each character can be more developed and cooler in general.
So having few characters is fine.
and 28 characters in a fighting roster is around Injustice's starting roster

I'm not downing MvC I, just saying not to hold it to MvC standards since it's something else. Jury is completely out on MvC I for me, trying to avoid having much of an opinion until I get my hands on it, I like Jedah, Spencer and Cap, so I at least have a couple people to play.

I get assuming a smaller roster means what's there is more rounded, but SFV had 16 characters at launch and while the game was surprisingly fairly balanced there were still problems, and it's still got issues so I find optimism on that front kind of hard, unless you're making a balance comparison to MvC 2 or 3, then sure, this sure as hell better be more rounded out.

i meant it more in the sense that's they're reusing a good lot of the assets right from MvC3 so seeing so many cuts is just
so odd

It's not that much of a surprise. Every last one of the Marvel characters mentioned in the leak are part of the MCU, and that's unquestionably their biggest moneymaker right now. Makes sense that they'd shill it to the moon while sending everyone who isn't part of it to the knacker. Of course, this is assuming that the leak is true, but it is definitely a roster that I could see happening. Except for that one Monster Hunter guy, though. Might need a name change.

what else are you gonna call the Monster Hunter from Monster Hunter than Monster Hunter

Monster Hunter, Street Fighter, and Darkstalker are together in one game

amazing

When's Skullgirl?

3v3 isn't the reason everyone was underdeveloped in MVC3. It's because the current designers don't have good fighting game fundamentals.

A random low tier in Mvc2 has smarter moveset design than pretty much everyone in Mvc3.
